Sylvia, glad to see you back on OK as you say they keep changing everything around.
The soup and trifle sound absolutely delicious she will really enjoy them. Hope everything goes OK with the dentist and optician.

Hi all,
Many thanks Jo for helping me get back on the site. I wish they wouldn't keep messing around with the site. I'm happy just as it is. Ok just old-fashioned I suppose.
Today I went to the dentist so that they could make a model of my top and bottom teeth ready for when I have the last teeth out. Sounds horrible, but what is to be is to be.
Tomorrow both Johan and I have to see the optrician ready for the operation for cataracts.
We have an old friend coming on Thursday to us so I've been thinking what I can cook without too much work, and that is a great pan of soup with nice bread rolls and then a sherry trifle. She is a sherry fan, so that should be ok. The soup will be enough as I put meat balls and lots of fresh vegetables in it.
Johan has repaired my label printer so must try that out now or he will think I am ungrateful for not looking at it!
Love to you all, Sylvia xxx

You ladies with craft rooms are so lucky I am sooooo jealous!!!

Weather here awful at the moment lots of rain all day and very cold and windy, not like August at all. Still typical bank holiday weekend. Still it has meant a day of crafting so not a bad out come.

Hope the op went well Sylvia and everything turns out well.

Ann, lots do that over the TT and Grand Prix :-) My biggest bedroom is now my craft room and my stuff is already drifting into the 4th small bedroom, far more important as crafty space :-D

Those Memory Box dies are so pretty, I have a few and they always add a special touch to a card.
The sun is out again today over here, its the practice week before next weeks Manx Grand Prix. Its not as busy as TT but still lots of bikers over and roads closed this week during the evenings then all day next week. Luckily, we can get out to most places as we can avoid the course but glad we didn't fall in love with a few houses we saw as they are on the course so during races its stay at home or go on your holidays :-)

Your craft is obviously popular Jill, Well done on making a success of it. At the moment, when I can grab a few minutes, I am trying to make the wedding card for our grandson.

A few weeks back Jean (Just Jean) sent me some die cuts she'd done, I think with making memories dies, and I am using a lacy one with hearts on in white on the card. so it won't be all my own work but it just looks right and I don't have a die like it.

Ann, new car sounds great, you always know when its right.

Been hot over here and this afternoon I had one of my craft groups, lots of messy inky fun :-) I am also doing the craft night for local WI next Tuesday
then two more craft shows so trying to get lots done.
Hope you are all keeping well

Meant to add we don't do a lot of mileage so we are happy with the petrol auto.

AnninGlos Report 20 Aug 2012 18:07

Ah, Ok, scrap what you knew about the car at Thornbury! Wenmt down there, test drove it, I wasn't keen and sensed OH wasn't comfortable, it had a vicious clutch and somehow just wasn't right. Although we neither of us said anything. Back at the garage, they didn't want to take the BMW in part exchange, said we'd have a deal if we sold it privately. So we left it. Went back to a garage that wasn't open on Sunday where they had several used Mercs. And bought an entirely different Merc. A coupe, Avantgarde, 2 door petrol auto. Sat nav, parking sensors (the other one had neither). Black (I know!!!!). OH drove it and it was lovely. And they took ours in exchange. Hopefully if we get the cash in time we will have it on friday.

The Merc sounds lovely Ann, I find I do so many miles in a month I definitely need the diesel, it has cut my fuel bill by so much and also the insurance is less and the road tax which all makes a big difference.

It is still so hot and humid here today even though we have had some rain this morning still hopefully if will cool down as the day goes on.

Well so far we have looked at several cars, ended up miles away down in Thornbury where of course the best one so far is. but that is manual petrol!!! I think OH would be better sticking to Automatic but what do I know? Still he hasn't decided That one is a Mercedes Elegance 200. We shall see, probably be sold by the time he has made up his mind.

Hi all,
Just a quick note. So everybody is busy with Xmas cards. I always have to make over the hundred myself and then I never make two the same, well never, has happened, but usually not.
It is so warm here now 35 degrees. We had the ceiling fan blowing all night in our bedroom and left the windows open a little. I didn't like the idea, but Johan assured me that nobody could crawl through the limited space. Anyway I slept very well. I went to bed almost 3 oçlock and woke up at 8.45 am. Good for me.
Am not sure whether I am going to cook. At the moment I feel like it, but we'll see this afternoon. I do have some deep freeze meals if I change my mind and they can go in the microwave.
Nice to see Jill back again and full of activity so to hear. Oh to be young again!
On the question of cars, I always preferred a diesel, which was cheaper than petrol but the spare parts for a diesel car were more expensive, so where do we save?
Now I'm going to get my cuttlebug out and use it. I haven't used it since we moved~
Go careful with your water!

I find deciding on the design for the Christmas cards to be the hard part, once that is sorted making them is the easy part!! Have a few left from last year as I made too many, lost count I think but really need to start soon.

Jill it sounds like your cards are doing really well, but as Ann has already said your cards are beautiful.

We have both diesel and petrol cars. My new one is diesel, last one was petrol and the one before that was diesel, Love the fact I get so many miles to the gallon with the diesel car never had a problem with any of the diesel cars and they are now so different and not sluggish at all.

The weather has been so warn and humid today, hope we get the thunderstorm they promised might clear my headache.

Just had a count up. With the ones left over from last year and those made so far this year, I already have 52 Christmas cards made.
