Keep up the good work, it can only become easier the longer you go without smoking.

hi slyvia, i am very proud of you, well done and hope you keep it up. i have now been without a cigarette for over 3 years and have never looked back. i never got a craving from the first day i stopped because my health came first and thats all that mattered to me.

i just keep busy all the time, i sometimes wondered how much time i did waste going outside to smoke as we never smoked in our house once my first child was born.

anyway looking in from time to time and wish you well

Hi All,

Thanks for all your support. It feels great not having the cravings that I used to have. hope it continues as I really want this to work for me and my family. My youngest grandaughter aged 10 has just finished the DARE project at school and kept on getting on at me. Both my grandaughters say that they are proud of their Nan

We have a friend who smoked for 70 yrs, and gave up three years ago. He has been able to replace his tele, his cooker and his washing machine, all of which he had done without because he had no money spare. Unfortunately he has done nothing about redecorating, and for me, a non smoker always, it is most unpleasant still to enter his house. I do go in now, but have difficulty breathing so only go when he needs help with something.
My Oh gave up 20 yrs ago after 40 odd years and has never looked back.

I was one of the lucky ones that didn't need any thing to help me stop after smoking for about 30 years except the fact my blood pressure went sky high and I thought that I was going to die. It's the one thing in life I regret ever doing, and after seeing brother in law die of lung cancer never want to do it again.

I was also a smoker from the age of 13, when I had my first child at age 32 I gave up then 16 yrs later I started again, something I really regret as I had a heart attack at 57. Am pleased to say have not smoked for past 10 years. This christmas had my son and girlfriend plus her mother who is a very heavy smoker, have just about managed to get the smell of cigaretts out of my house it managed to penetrate every room. Don't give in Sylvia.
