Was on holiday with my dad last week and was asking him about when he was younger. I asked if his family had a car and a telephone when he was younger to which he repiled yes to both he then said we also had hot and cold running water in the house as if offended by the question. I know he wasn't born in the stone age but when he was growing up in 50s and 60s I did think that not every family had a car or a telephone. Am I correct in thinking this? I was born in 1984. |

Might that just be "Tiddleywinks" winking at you in your sleep Fred? Taking into consideration how you men refer to the "Common Cold" as "Flu" ? |

I think you might be getting confused with Siverfish and Silverback Beverley! |

I have not seen a Silverfish since i was knee high to a Grasshopper. Silverfish are wingless insects and are silvery to brown in color because their bodies are covered in tiny scales. Known as Household pests, Siverfish would basically eat your house and its contents if not kept under control!!!! |

Jean, you "remember going to the gasworks with an old pram to fetch the weekly supply of COKE!!!" Does that mean, that you were not only a drug dealer, but a self confessed (like me!) "Substance Sniffer"??? |

One of the first dances I went to, the singer had a voice like Frankie Lane's and used to sing Rawhide . The dancing stopped and we all crowded to the front to listen and applaud. |

If anyone can remind me the name of the lavender floor polish, used in the 50s which came in a flat, round tin about the size of a tea plate, you can av a suck on me gobstopper!..........I loved the smell of it and when no one was looking i would stick a lump of it under my nose! |
