Maybe she has trouble with her lap top again. Or it is probably that they are trying to get things finished so they can get out in the garden. But I hope that they are OK.

Good morning all only 2 degrees here so far no sign of frost though. Slept OK but woke with a pain in my shoulder and neck, I think it might be wearing my cross body bag (which is not light) for too long yesterday. (Old bones can't take it!)

All being well I am meeting a friend for coffee at Norton garden centre this morning. I suspect they have lots of spring plants in so that will be a temptation.

We've not heard from Gill for ages now. Hope they are both ok.

It was a good day and I didn't have to get the bus home as friend's appointment was cancelled. Our surgery must be very bad at infection control as we are always being told re appointments etc sorry for the delay/cancellation/whatever which is due to staff sickness.

Anyway the museum/art gallery was very interesting. I used to belong to the friends there many years ago but that lapsed although I still visited the museum. However, since then it has had a complete refurbishment and is very up to date and smart. My favourite area is the Arts and Crafts room, I love the beautiful furniture and anything connected with the movement and they have a very good collection.
We had lunch in their cafe (Quiche and chips which Was very nice and gave us time to chat. Only five of us for lunch but seven to see the museum. After lunch Friend and I went to M&S for a look round but they have a sale on which is fine but it takes up so much of the floor space and the sizes I need are never there as they are the most popular. I did get three little baby things (don't know what you call them, rompers? vests with poppers?)

Good morning AnnG and all

3 degrees, very grey but dry today.

That’s good that you didn’t get caught by that scam Mel

Enjoy your visit to Cheltenham AnnG. I haven’t got any plans for the day. I think it’ll be a potter about sort of day.

Morning Anng and all,

Very frosty again here this morning but the suns out so it should soon burn it off I hope. Its 3 degrees here too and pc says partly cloudy.

I have another parcel to post today as I sold something else.

Enjoy Cheltenham Anng, shame you have toget the bus home.

Hope you all slept well. I went out like a light last night after all the activity yesterday and disappointment at not winning a prize.

AnninGlos Report 3 Mar 2023 07:08

At least you were prepared for that Mel so well done on not being caught.

Good morning all. 3 degrees here at 7am. Being picked up by friend at 0930 to go to Cheltenham, our group is visiting the museum there to have a good look round. We are trying to make up for the fact that we tend to visit places away from home but never places in our own area. Unfortunately I will have to come home by bus as friend has to leave early for an appointment elsewhere. Just hope the buses are behaving themselves or it will be a taxi.

I hav'nt stopped all day. After I went to the post van I came home and Hazel rang me to say he wouldcome and cut my willows down at the back of his garden. Fine he cut them down plus some of the slow that had come from his garden and he and his son dragged it all down to my bonfire outside my big arch. Came in and the phone rang, it was the roofer saying could he come over and see if they could get the digger started, be over in about half an hour. I said yes. Had some lunch and they turned up so we all went over to the digger and his nephew had brought a battery and jump leads. The leads were'nt working . Had I got any jump leads, yes and a battery mobile jump starter. Got the battery jump over there first but that would'nt start it so I came back to the garage and got the jump leads. Still she would'nt start. They undid the injecters and pumped fuel up and still she would'nt start. They even put some of my diesel in it. Anyway they have left it that I get someone to get it started and ring them back once its done. On the way back to their truck the big bloke had a tug at the trailer and thats ceased up so needs its wheels freeing.

After that episode I went back up the top the Hazel and Jonathons and took them 4 pints of beer. He has one son at home who worked with him on the trees.

After lunch Em and Ed came and had a look at this prize thing and he said he thought it was genuin as I watch these people on Youtube every week and I know they give things away sometimes. They make jewelry out of the things they find, they are a mother and daughter teem.

Lottery, sweepstake or prize-draw fraud happens after fraudsters contact you to tell you you’ve won a large sum of money in an international lottery, sweepstake or other prize draw.

You’re told via email or letter that you have won a large amount of money on an overseas or online lottery. Spanish, Canadian and Australian lotteries are among the most common.

So that you can process the payment of your winnings, it asks you to contact someone who claims to be an official at the lottery company. You are warned to keep your good luck a secret and, if you don’t respond quickly, you won’t be able to claim your winnings.

However, either the lottery doesn’t exist or you’ve been contacted by fraudsters misusing the name of a genuine lottery. But you can be sure there is no prize money for you to win. If you respond to the fraudster, you’ll be asked to supply personal information and copies of official documents, such as your passport, as proof of identity. The fraudsters can then use this information to steal your identity.

Once you have provided your personal information, the fraudsters will ask you to pay various fees – for example: taxes, legal fees, banking fees etc. – so that they can release your non-existent winnings.

Morning all

Mel, I was going to say the same as AnnG. If you have entered a competition and your notification of a prize has come from the organisers of that, it should be OK though I can’t think why they would need some sort of text. If this “prize” was out of the blue be very, very careful. It is probably a scam.

Sorry to hear the sciatica is still bad Island and hope the physio helps.

I’m in the middle of cleaning the bathrooms and just stopped for a coffee so I’d better get on. Might bbl

Just going to post and there was a heck of a bang. It was just to my side and frightened the life out of me. A pigeon had flown into the patio doors. It flew away again so seems OK but I have a perfect outline on the glass now.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 2 Mar 2023 10:34

Mel please tell us more about the prize that you have won. were you expecting to win anything? that is have you entered a competition? Are you sure it is not a scam?

Island. can you tell me more about the stuffed pepper. what did you stuff it with and what temp and how long did you cook it for?

Ah, so sorry about the B sciatica. I to hope the physio is of some help for you it is obviously pulling you down. What pain killers can you take? I notice they have a combined ibfrofen and parasetamol (sp) out now. when T had his very bad back he was advised to take both paracetamol and Ibrofen pills together but he wouldn't but now it seems they were right and there is now a combined pill. :-S

Morning Ann and all

Ann perhaps your good sleep was down to your easy day - relaxed?

I'm still troubled by sciatica which has really worn me down. I have an appt for physio next week, not holding my breath, I think I need exorcism.

Just wanted to let you air fryers know - I did a stuffed pepper in mine, very nice too.

Good morning all. I slept really well. Woke at 2.15 but didn't get up for the loo as I went back to sleep then didn't wake until 6am very strange as I had a relatively easy day yesterday but good to have a a decent sleep.
3 degrees here and fairly bright out there and, as far as I can see, no frost.

Nothing planned except I need to get hold of the man who serviced my dishwasher as I need him to look at the tumble drier which is making a strange noise. I left a message yesterday but he has not got back to me yet. It took a while before, he works on his own and is not very 'techy'.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 1 Mar 2023 18:30

6 degrees here now but I don't know what it was erlier as I have been up the caravan doing a bit of sorting of the stuff oh had up there. I brought down my angle poise lamp I lent him and a box with dividers in it I can use for miniatures and a big long spirit level measuring things which can go in the garage. I cleared off a table in there and am going to see if it will go next to mine in the lounge. It may be too big so I would'nt be able to get out the patio door but we will see once I have measured it.

Have all of you got gas of some sort layed on? cos I hav'nt but had a letter from edf saying I am going to get another £200 !!

Evening everyone

A short post today as I don't really have anything to tell you. It has been a cold, very overcast day with rain in the air. At the moment my computer is saying that it is 6 degrees and sunny. What planet is it on? There has been no sun at all today and it is now starting to get dark anyway. It certainly feels colder than 6 degrees.

I've been busy all day but not doing anything interesting. It's been a day of household jobs and ironing. I cooked our main meal at lunchtime and made some bread in the breadmaker. I've been on the computer for the last couple of hours but I haven't got any heating on in the study. My body isn't too bad as I put my fluffy dressing gown on but my hands are like blocks of ice so I'm now off downstairs to try and warm up a bit.

Mel Edwards only ever affects babies and mostly they don't suffer as they don't live, even if not aborted they would only live at most a matter of days. It is the families that suffer of course not knowing 'why?' As there is no answer to that it being a chromosome problem. They would probably suffer if managed to be kept alive which is why the majority are reluctantly aborted. My grandson was about 24/5 weeks when aborted and the parents were able to hold him. I do have a photo of him swaddled in a shawl, a very tiny perfect looking baby. terrible disease and heart breaking.
