We've only had a few gleams of sun today. It's been a nothing sort of day - greyish, dryish, a bit chilly. The computer is now telling me that it's raining but will stop soon. It must be very dry rain as there isn't a speck of wet anywhere.

I didn't get to do anything in the garden but this morning I hoovered and dusted all upstairs and then showered and washed my hair. This afternoon Mr Tesco came with 3 weeks' worth of shopping. There was nothing missing but there were 3 subs. I had mange tout instead of sugar snap peas, very large eggs instead of large and the best one of the lot was some lamb. When I did the order I noticed they had half shoulders of lamb, normally £10.20, reduced by half so I ordered one. There were none left so they sent me a whole shoulder priced at £19.98 but I only had to pay the £5.10 I would have paid for the reduced half shoulder. Can't complain about that :-)

Then it was a bit of filing and banking and general household admin. Now it's nearly time to cook dinner, though it is just a ready meal tonight so I only have to take it out of the fridge and shove it in the oven.

We had a Ladies Club meeting last night. At the AGM I am sure I put my name down to do teas in October with 2 other ladies M & J. When I got there one of the committee greeted me with "You're a little bit late as you're doing teas". I pointed out I was doing it in October and she assured me I was wrong so I thought I had misread the sheet I had signed. M was already in the kitchen getting stuff ready and she was sure she had signed up to do teas later in the year, then J arrived saying she was late as she hadn't known she was doing teas! I think someone on the committee realised they had no-one to do it last night so decided to bring us forward. Shame no-one told us! They use proper cups and saucers at this group, rather than disposables, and it is quite a big group so there was a lot of washing up. I was not pleased!

I'm not sure when you are going away AnnG or indeed if you have gone today, but I wish you a safe journey whenever it is.

I hardly dare say but we have lovely blue sky and sun ,bit chilly in the shade ,I went shopping after my blood test ,made sure she put a bit of cotton wool and tape on my arm as once when I went I ended up with blood running down my arm .

Aldi very quiet as the road works are putting people off going that way ,I did have to get in the queue of traffic though to get home .

Mel it must be very hard for you to see some of OH's things sold but I'm sure he would have hated the things standing there and rusting away ,time to pass them on to be cared for by the young chap <3

I was looking at an ad for one of our garden centres and the bedding plants are 1.75 per plant or you could have 10 for 15 pound , doesn't seem that long ago they were 75p per plant ,Another thing shot up in price .

Anng not sure if you were travelling today but safe journey if you are .

Makes you cross when you are told its supposed to be bright sunshine but its not. Its raining here now but there's not a lot of breeze so its falling staight down.

Weather app is telling me it’s 7 degrees and bright sunshine. My view from the window is telling me it’s grey and miserable.

I managed to do a bit in the garden yesterday and was hoping to do a bit more today but I think I’ll wait and see if it brightens up a bit. Tesco are delivering this afternoon.

Dull and dreary and wet today and pc says 7 degrees and light rain. Thought it was too good to be true we would have another nice sunny day.

Nothing planned for today so see how the day takes me. I may do some housework!!!!!

Is that the oven temp by 10??? I had made a big stew which I had tonight and plenty left for the freezer in portiuons. I may have a go at that tomorrow. Thanks for the advice Anng's daughter. <3

I have been watching Little Dorrit on iplayer as its a long while since I have seen it and I am enjoying it all over again.

Daughter is here and suggests probably 35 minutes and reduce what it says for the oven by ten and check it about 25 minutes and check with meat thermometer when finished.

Sold it and its gone. It has upset me.

No I hav'nt I keep looking at this southern fried chicken I have in the freezer and keep thinking I must try that with some chips. They are thighs and drumsticks. Have you cooked those or chicken in yours? Not sure how long to cook it for as it says on the packet 40 to 45 mins in the oven.

The young fella is coming over to have a look at the digger now. He just has to come from Bideford.

Half of it was on it Mel. It will be good if you can get rid of the digger won't it?

How are you getting on with the Air frier. Have you used it much?

The good news is that the man who does my car came this morning and he got the digger going with no trouble at all. The worst trouble was we could'nt get the seat up at first but managed it in the end. The people who tried to start it before had also left the ignition on. Stuart started it and they had'nt done one of the injecters back up so he did that as it was squirting diesel out. He also took some pics of it and has a young man of 23 who is interested in it and he sent the pics and he wants to come and see it and the trailer. I just have to take all the stuff out of the trailer now but he pulled it out of the holly tree with the winch on the front of his vehicle so I can clear it now.

So both of us have leccy problems today Anng. My leccy keeps dropping out and its done it about 15 times at least this morning. I was going to put the slow cooker on but can't leave the house if it goes out again.




n who does my car came this morning and he got the digger started and pulled the trailer out from under the holly tree with the winch on the from of his vehicle. He also gave me a nice hug and told me he has a young lad interested in the digger and trailer and he's going to bring him down to see it. He left about 12 oclock and went off for his lunch. He was'nt here very long and I hav'nt had to pay him yet.

Hav'nt read the last posts yet but my leccy keeps tripping out and it done it about 15 times at least.

Daughter is about 45 minutes away now. I have done some more cutting back and weeding in the garden. I can't cut the lawn as I need to get a new battery for the mower. Stupid me left the battery out when I came in two weeks ago and it got caught in heavy rain. It just won't charge up now so that is an expensive lesson learnt. I will wait until I come back to order it anyway.

A really beautiful morning here with just a breeze and not the fierce bitter winds of late.
I'm not long back from walking to see the swans, or should I say swan, brcause only one was around today and sitting firmly on the nest, so I don't know if there are eggs there or not.... I'll have to ask my friend, as she frequently walks there.
Mandy, I'm not sure about the timing. I looked back on last year's posts and see that on April 16th I had seen 8 eggs, so we will just have to wait and see. Sadly some eggs don't hatch and some cygnets full victim to predators like pike or even mink, I've heard.

Yesterday, my daughters and I visited Rochester Cathedral and saw the massive Jubilee Black Oak table

The timeline displayed nearby was so interesting and dated the acorn from which the oak grew to pre 3500 BC.
Also on display, above the main aisle were hundreds of paper doves from an art project which involved many schools.

good morning all. 1 degree here but no sign of frost when I looked out at 7am. daughter already left to come here so will be here at lunch time.

Nice bright sunny morning again here and there was a frost last night before I went to bed and now pc is saying 2 degrees and mostly cloudy.

Shopping comes today and I was cross because three things I wanted were not available so I had to but other things to make the money up to get my order delivered.

gill a letter is a good idea but make sure it is dated and you have a copy of it. Is there a hedge there at the moment and is the hedge on her land or yours?
