Morning Anng and all,

About the same here 17 degrees and cloudy with that fine rain in the air. What a miserable year we are having or is it just that we don't remember the good days?

I think I may ring the docs today as I am still in so much pain and am living on paracetamol so I can move about.

I got on wiht my little Tudor lady yesterday and got her shoes on and her hair so now all there is to do is make her cap and I may do another man as I don't think I can part with the first man I made yet.

Good morning all. drizzly and cloudy here but 17 degrees. bed stripped and washing in but not dressed. No real plans for today I suppose if you twist my arm I could do some housework. Hmm!! Maybe.

Pleased that you had a good time Vera and good that it stayed dry. Strange that nobody took salad. Maybe they all thought there was too much last year.

I'm pleased you had a good day AnnG. Lunch sounded good and an outdoor performance is usually fun if it's not raining, though I know what you mean about G & S. I'm not a great fan either.

We didn't have much sun at our garden party but it stayed dry which was the main thing. It was quite breezy at times. There was more than enough food with lots of things like sausage rolls, mini pork pies, a couple of quiches and my crustless mini ones, a plate of halved hard boiled eggs, and a variety of sandwiches but I was surprised to find the only salad item was a dish of little tomatoes. Usually someone takes some green salad and maybe some other salady bits. I did miss that. I expect next year we will all turn up with bowls of salad, lol.

There were a variety of puds and cakes but I limited myself to a little bit of trifle and a small slice of strawberry cheesecake. The hostess provided tea, coffee and soft drinks and we took our own alcohol. I took some white wine which I shared with another lady there. OH limited himself to one can of lager as he was driving me, our friends M & V and also our other friend who is a lively 91 year old with dementia. We try to include her in as many parties, outings etc as we can though it isn't always possible as she is liable to have a severe panic attack if she doesn't know where she is or doesn't immediately recognize the people around her. But she did enjoy it this afternoon and it is good for her to mix with other people as much as possible. She's a happy soul and everyone chats to her. Either M or I kept an eye on her the whole time to make sure she didn't wander out of the back gate or get lost in the house on her way to the loo.

Our hostess had set up a few garden games and made up a picture quiz with pictures posted around her garden so there was plenty for us to do apart from chatting. All in all a very successful few hours.

My back is aching at the moment, probably from sitting in a low garden chair this afternoon, and I want to just add a couple of things to tomorrow's Tesco order so I'll say goodnight, sleep tight asnd sweet dreams everyone.

Yes thanks Mel, lunch was very nice roast lamb, roast potatoes and parsnip, stuffing and Yorkshire, broccoli, green beans, carrots, cabbage and cauliflower and leek cheese. Then apple and blackberry crumble with ice cream. Plus a large glass of red wine.

It did rain while we had lunch but stopped when we went to the private school where the performance was. It was in an amphitheatre under a circle of large trees. It was not that warm but we only had a slight shower. We were sitting there for two and a half hours. That included a short interval. I am not a big fan of Gilbert and Sullivan and the Mikado is probably least favourite but it was fun, there were some very good singers in it. Got home just before six. Seemed strange sitting on my own surrounded by birthday cards.

You lucky thing Gwyn its that horrid fine rain here. I just corned the chickens and now feel all wet even though I had a coat on but no hat.

Been playing with my Tudor lady and she now has shoes and then I made a leather bag not for her but for another setting. I watched Tilly Trotter while I was doing it.

Hope you have had a nice day Anng.

Happy Birthday Ann. I hope you are having a good day and perhaps some sunshine.

It is very blustery here, but quite warm and dry too with full-on sunshine.

good morning all, many thanks for the birthday wishes and than you for my cards. It still seems very strange opening my cards on my own, but I had a nice lot and the lounge looks cheerful with them all. Still some missing but our post is awful we only seem to get two deliveries a week now.

Morning Mandy and all,

Yes I am glad yesterday is over after all the mishaps.

Happy Birthday Anng hope you have a lovely day.

Its dull and grey here this morning 17 degrees and partly sunny by the pc. Its been raining as the cars all wet.

Nothing planned for today so will just go with the flow but if my back is not too bad I want to wash my hair.

Enjoy the children Mandy and what have you been making with them over the holidays.

Thanks for your kind thoughts girls.

I am in so much pain today I don't know what to do with myself. Then I got readyo go up the shop reversed out and turned to go up the road and hit the bl**dy wall at the edge of the lawn. Burst the tyre and as I was in the middle of our road I had to reverse with the flat to get the car out of the way. I have ruined the tyre. The shop shuts at 2pm and this was 13 minuets past one. Rang my little garage man but he was shut so rang Em to see if they would run me down the shop. No they are away for the weekend. Rang my neighbour up the top and he was having lunch but rusxhed it and took me up the shop. Just having some lunch so I can take more painkillers and BIL turned up.

He has changed the wheel for me but can't stay long.

Ah, when I stay at son's it is a bed on a pine slatted frame and also when I stay at daughter's the same. It is difficult to tuck the sheets in as the mattress slides on the frame.

Just had a lovely surprise a day early from granddaughter in law. a potted lemon baby rose, lemon shortbread and lemon jelly slices.
