Vera that must have been lovely to see the actual wedding ceremony and then all the speeches and photos ,I was only saying to Colin the other day we haven't seen any weddings at the church this year at all ,I used to look out the kitchen window and see the little bridesmaids and the wedding cars go down to the church and hear the church bells ,now they have the wedding service and reception all in the one venue.

Raining here now and I'm sure I heard thunder just before we had tea tonight ,should be a bit fresher the next couple of days then heating up again .
Usually by the middle or end of September we've lit the fire for the evening or had the heating on .

Lots of coupons can only be spent in store Mel and I think I’ve seen a couple that have said online only.

I went out about 2.30 pm to do a bit of gardening and I was only out for about 10 minutes before the rain came down and I had to drop my secateurs and bucket and rush to get the washing in. There was a lot of washing so by the time I got it in I was good and wet. It wasn’t quite as dry as I hoped so half of it got finished in the tumble dryer and the rest is hanging around the house.

There were an unbelievable number of wedding photos and there were often several nearly identical ones. I think these professional photographers just keep snapping away. The video was lovely as it included the ceremony itself and all the speeches at the reception with other bits and bobs in between. It ran for about an hour and a quarter and all the speeches were both funny and moving. I had a tear in my eye once or twice.

Monday’s meal is usually left overs from Sunday’s roast but yesterday we had lamb shanks so there were no leftovers. So I’ve taken my last helping of soup from the freezer and we’ll follow it with a veggie quiche and a small salad. That’ll be an easy dinner but I’d better get more soup made when I’ve got time.

It’s been really dark here for the last hour and now I can hear thunder and it’s getting closer. I hope it’s nicer wherever you are.

I have just read the coupon and it excludes online shopping. How silly.

I have just spent the whole afternoon painting a Clarice Cliff style vase only to finish it and then break one of the feet off of it....

Re coupons Mel I can only tell you Tesco, they have a place to enter Tesco vouchers but I have not checked to see if they also take other coupons, If it is anywhere it will be just before you get to the part where you confirm the oder/payment.

Hope you enjoy the photos and video Vera. It is just so miserable here that it doesn't tempt me out into the garden. And when I went to put the bin out on the end of the drive just now it started to rain.

I have cleaned the bathroom and dusted the bedroom and sorted out some of the Christmas presents I have bought over the last couple of months. These are all the stocking fillers for the family (carrier bags instead of stockings though and a lot of the gifts are food related, like nice chutneys and sauces etc. I always get a selection of these for the Grandsons and their partners as they have a money present each, but it is nice to have things to unwrap Christmas morning.. I have also written and addressed a couple of birthday cards ready for posting.

What I was going to say is does any of you know how you can spend coupons on online deliveries?

Good idea Vera enjoy the video.

Been to the doc's and had to wait quite a while before being seen. She stuck more needles in me and they hurt a bit in places and then she put a longer one in one part of my back that definately hit the spot. I'm a bit achey now but have only taken two tablets today so far. I am trying not to take so many paracetamoland I am down to 6 a day from 8 so that must be good. I took the first ones at 8am and am just begining to feel the pain again now but am going to hang on for another hour or so if I can.

It not windy here but very wet and at the mo its that fine stuff that gets everywhere.

Good afternoon all

Our weather is much the same as Mandy's; warm, muggy, grey and thundery rain promised for later. The first gleam of sun is just showing through. It's very still and the washing is just hanging on the line like limp rags. I hope it's not the calm before the storm.

I didn't sleep well again and heard OH get up around 7 am, then I fell asleep so wasn't up till about 9, which is late for me. I changed the bedding on my bed and OH did his and I've got 3 loads of washing on the line but I feel as though I've been chasing my tail all morning.

I ought to do some gardening or I'll be panicking when it starts to get really cold but I don't want to start taking stuff up or cutting it down while it's still providing some colour. I might clear another trough of annuals that haven't done so well since drying out when we were on holiday. We're still picking tomatoes but there are only a few more left to ripen now

I've just received an email to a link to a wedding video and all the professional photos. It was my son's step-son's wedding and we were invited but unable to go. My son sent me a few snaps but I think I'll now sit and enjoy a good wallow in the video and photos..

Morning all

Cloudy here and very muggy ,we did see a little sun but we should be in for thundery rain later .

We've been in the gardening cutting back a few things and I noticed that the Cana I thought I had lost has now got a new leaf showing so a bit late for this year but at least I haven't lost it .

Morning all,

Murky old morning here and mostly cloudy and 14 degrees by the pc. Its the kind of day you want to go back to bed and snuggle in till it brightens up a bit.

Have parcels to post and the docs today so better get on.

Hope all slept well.

Evening all,

It's been a very overcast day here ,I thought they said we should see some sun this afternoon but it didn't appear.
Son came this morning to sweep the chimney so I cleared a lot of things out and covered everything with the plastic sheeting we bought , there was not very much soot up there at all so at least we know we've got a clean chimney all ready for the first fire when we need it.
I then had a good hoover up and also got son to move the big sofa out so I could hoover under that ,I quite expected a lot of fluff and dust underneath but it wasn't to bad considering it hasn't been pulled out for a while.

Fancy the bottle coming out of the store with the tag on Anng ,they couldn't have security out the back when the pickers take the cart through .
Someone told me they are now putting the tags on meat etc as they are having so many people shop lifting now.

I thought of your deer Mel when dil told me they had a baby deer in the school field ,she said it was all curled up with no sign of mum and it just stood up looked at them stretched and laid down again ,I bet mum wasn't far away though.

Our garden like yours Vera still has some colour ,the hanging baskets are getting a little dull now but the pots are still going strong ,there is tiny beans on the runners lots of green toms still to turn and I have three more cucumbers growing .

Good afternoon all

It’s really hot here, 22 degrees but apparently it feels like 26. However, it is so grey and gloomy and all day it has looked as though it's about to pour down at any minute.

I didn’t sleep well but only because both arms were so sore from the jabs that I couldn’t get comfortable. Every time I fell asleep I’d turn over, lay on an arm and wake myself up again. I just feel a bit achy now so it should be a better night tonight.

That’s strange about the security tag still being on your bottle AnnG but it was good the delivery chap was able to get it taken off for you. I once bought some underwear only to find when I got home that the security tag was attached to the knickers inside the box where it couldn’t be seen. How stupid is that. I had to make another trip to the shop to get it taken off and the girl on the till said she had never been told to check inside the box.

I don’t seem to have done much again. I made a loaf in the breadmaker and cooked a roast dinner. I also spent quite a while looking for some paperwork for OH. He’s mislaid an important letter and some notes he made. He swears blind that he filed them a few weeks ago. Well, I don’t know where he filed them (my suspicion is the bin) but I can’t find them.

I’m sitting in the conservatory looking out into the garden and it is still a riot of colour. I ought to be out there cutting plants back and tidying everything up ready for the winter but I am loath to touch it while it still looks so bright and colourful.

OH is now doing the monthly accounts, involving various bank and credit card accounts so is probably getting a bit grumpy. I’d better take him a cup of tea to keep him sweet ;-)

Good afternoon all, slept well last night and forgot to come on here this morning. temp is 21 now but we have not seen the sun all day it has been grey and overcast.

I had a Tesco delivery this morning. Something that has not happened before. The bottle of gin (ordered for Christmas as it was reduced) had the lock still on it. Driver was puzzled as he doesn't have anything to release the lock. anyway he took it round to local Tesco not having much hope without a receipt, and they unlocked it for him. He then brought it back to me ten minutes later. Nice man very apologetic. And I had one sub that was useless. I ordered a pack of pocket tissues which I use the balsalm ones, they substituted a box of 72 Tesco tissues. that went back, then I had a prawn cocktail with a pre-warning of short date. Date is 2 October. I said that was no good to me so he told me to keep it and refunded the cost. I will now have that tonight with a jacket potato and tomorrow will have the lamb that I was going to have today.

Not done any real gardening as I have no room in the brown bin. Well I actually did cut back a few hardy fuchsia branches and just got them on the top of the stuff in the bin.

Made some soup this morning, cauli broccoli and carrot, five portions so some in the freezer.

Written two long correspondence magazine letters Changed 3 inks on my printer, a job I hate doing.

washed two mats, one toilet mat and one front door.

Morning all,

Dull grey cloudy and cold but pc says 16 degrees and also mostly cloudy. I wonder if we will get St Lukes little summer this year?

You have been busy today AnnG. I'm not surprised you're feeling tired.

You're not having much luck with your UV lights Mel. Hopefully your bil will be able to sort out the pipe size and get it fitted for you soon. I know it's frustrating when you can see all the jobs that need doing outside but please take it easy. You need to give that arm time to heal properly.

I haven't seemed to be able to settle to anything much today. I had 2 troughs full of plants that I want to get rid off and the other day I cut them right down but I couldn't manage to dig the roots out. OH decided to do it for me. He managed to lift each trough and tip them upside down on an old blanket on the patio and then break up all the compost and earth and get at the roots that way. I don't know how he managed to lift them. The troughs are plastic but are quite big and weigh a ton when they are full of wet earth. I didn't want him to do it as I was frightened he would set his bad back off again but so far, so good

I did walk to our friend's house and delivered his birthday card this afternoon. I just put it through the letter box but his wife saw me through the window and came out for a word. They had visitors so I didn't go in.

OH is watching some awful film that seems to involve everyone killing everyone else and shouting loudly while they are doing it. It's not my cup of tea at all so I think I am going to go to bed and watch something on the iPad or read my book. Sleep well everyone.

Tired today, I hoovered lounge and dining room and dusted, mowed the lawn, dug out loads of dandelions in the lawn

I then went out the front and took back all the weeds and thug plants that had grown onto the drive so that Jake can power wash the drive. The brown bin is very full now

Afternoon all

It's a nice day again; warm, with sunny spells and a light breeze. It meant I only needed a cardi to walk to the surgery for our jabs so it was easy to just slip off. The Covid one was OK but the flu one was a bit more painful.

OH had a call from the car workshop last night. I think he may have misunderstood what they said on Wednesday. I don't think it's got to the paint shop yet. Apparently it is now in the panelling section and they will ring again on Wednesday so it doesn't look as though we are getting it back early after all. In fact I wonder now if it is going to take even longer than the 2 weeks they originally said. I am not a happy bunny.

Not sure what I am going to do this afternoon. I have a birthday card to deliver to our friend who has just lost his sister and I am trying to decide if I have the energy to walk to his house and back, having already walked to the surgery and back. I'll refuel with lunch, which OH is just getting, and then decide what I feel like. His birthday isn't till Monday so I have the whole weekend to get it to him.

Morning all,

I slept till 9.38am this morning and got up twice inthe night and yes the moon was beautiful.

BIL is coming again today but I never know what time he will turn up. I really need to do some cutting down in the garden too. The budlia and some hardy fushias want cutting right back and the weilgelia (??) and the beauty bush has a weed tree in the middle of it. Trouble is its all a bit big for my little wheelbarrows and BIL has mucked up the old mower who usually pulls the big trailer. So thats me stumped.
