Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Mar 2024 15:33

Iv'e got some like that Anng. I tried to clean round it this morning but it dos'nt look any better.

Its been raining here nearly all morning I just got back to the house in time this morning after feeding the girls as the moment I stepped onto the patio under cover it started with heavy rain.
I have hoovered the kitchen and dusted all my desk and the telly and other bits. Had the small filing cabinet out next to my desk as I dropped something down the back. Well tthat started another lot of cleaning I had HUGE cobwebs all down the back of the cabinet and behind my desk which has never been out since he put it here in the corner years and years ago. I do my best to get under it but it is getting harder to get down there now.

Had a nice visit to a Jane's Pantry (I think that might be a local chain) restaurant that has been built on the edge of a huge new development of houses. I had not been there before but the coffee was good and the toasted tea cakes were lovely very big.

I was taken out by my friend Jean (Tony's late golf partner's wife, older than me) and her daughter who drove us and insisted on buying coffee and tea cake. Then on to a garden centre where I bought a few plants and a bag of compost which Karen put into the garage for me. When Jake eventually comes he can move the bag round to the back for me. I also bought a purple Polemonium with money daughter sent me for Easter, two miniature dianthus and a different mint.

And now it is pouring with rain again. However it was a nice visit and made a nice change. Karen is a couple of years older than my daughter but she is very knowledgeable with I.T. and basic electrics. She has said that she will come round and sort out my electric wiring which resembles spaghetti behind the TV.

We don't usually buy each other an egg but do sometimes buy a bar of chocolate to share at the weekend .

Afternoon All,

It was a couple of hours before I nodded off, but at least I slept through till gone 7.00am which is good for me. I.m finding it easier to be up earlier now the mornings are lighter. That will soon change with the clocks changing this weekend!

No snow here Mel. It was dry and sunny this morning, but it's dull again now and quite windy. My back was playing up this morning so I tried to keep the achey bit under a hot shower this morning and it seems to have helped.

I hope you enjoy your coffee and chat and trip to the garden centre AnnG. Your garden will look quite different with the changes you have made and some new plants.

I need to finish our food order today as I've had to book a slot with there being no deliveries on Sunday. Silly me seems to have lost the list I'd written out though as it isn't where I keep it.

Chicken kievs from Lidl for lunch with french fries and some mixed veg with a white sauce. A bit naughty with the french fries, but quick and easy prevails sometimes.

I meant to say that when the water leak was repaired I couldn't see any new tarmac and have since noticed that there is a round manhole and that is why the water was a circular fountain. There must have been a leak from a join in a pipe inside the manhole.

No snow here plenty of rain over night but dry now.

I have just seen that our surgery is closed for 4 days. And econsult is closed for a week. "if you need help call 111". Can't imagine that happening even 20 years ago, how sad.

Good morning all. only 3 degrees here so a bit on the cool side, although the sun is shining. There doesn't seem to have been a frost last night though.

Mandy looks like you have some answers and hopefully the pills will help you and the spray for your ear.

I am out this morning with a friend and her daughter (who will drive us) for coffee and then the local garden centre probably,

Pc is playing up again.

Why on earth when these vunerable children ar epout back with their parents they are not monitored regulary. He could have bee saved from all the horrors if they were properly watched. It makes you wonder how people can do these wicked things.

I have just been outside for a ciggy and its SNOWING and settleing. :-S

Oh don't worry Ann I've already said to Colin "oh and the doctor said eat at much chocolate as you can " lol :-D

Annx Report 27 Mar 2024 22:02

Till you get your tablets it sounds like you have an excellent excuse for some extra chocolate this easter then Mandy! lol It has the milk for extra calcium and if you like the dark sort it is rich in iron! :-D Mention it to Colin!

So often we read about cases like that little boy when they are returned to their parents. They must often know when parents for whatever reason are less likely to cope and should check them all over more often.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 27 Mar 2024 21:03

Thank you Ann i hope they help ,the prescription was being sent to boot but the last time she gave me new tablets when I went to boots for them the next day they said they had only just received it and would take three days ,if that's the case I won't have them until next week .

That little boy died on Christmas day 2020 in Derby he was only ten months old ,I couldn't listen to it all but did hear he had well over a hundred injuries bless him ,he had only been placed back with his parents for 39 days after being in care .

Annx Report 27 Mar 2024 20:20

That's good the doc has found some things in your results that would explain how you've been feeling Mandy. The low iron would be making you feel tired as well and treating your ear will make sure that isn't part of the problem. I hope the tablets soon have an impact and you start feeling better. :-) I haven't watched the news and seen about that poor little boy with all those injuries. The poor little soul must have been scared to death and so helpless. How can someone inflict all those injuries on a little child.......it's heartbreaking.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 27 Mar 2024 19:34

The doctor rang and I need vitamin d tablets and she said my iron levels are very low too they should be 50 and mine are 14 ,she's also given me some spray for my ear.
I have to take the tablets for three months then they will check again ,my vitamin b level was down too but she said that's not to bad, Hemoglobin was a bit low too but again she said they'd check that again too.

I think we heard thunder this afternoon, it had stayed dry but as I went out to the bin I could see a few spots on the bin lid .

Oh Ann that poor little boy and that poor little boy they were just talking about on the television who died and he had over a hundred injuries.

Annx Report 27 Mar 2024 15:40

Afternoon All,

Sunshine here earlier but we had a sharp shower at lunchtime, but it's sunny again now.

We woke up early, but crawled back under the bedclothes for another half hour before getting ready to go to B&Q. At least OH's achilles tendon is much better after a night with a hotwater bottle to rest it on. We called and got diesel from Sainsbury's on the way and about a third of the pumps were closed. Then we popped in Lidl's on the way for cereal we like and came out with far more things that were so cheap we couldn't leave them behind! We were shocked at all the foreign food shops there were nearby, all advertising Polish, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Lithuanian and Romanian food! Things have certainly changed in the area since the pandemic, several new barbers too that OH tells me some of which he has read can be involved in money laundering! In Lidl we heard so little english, we felt like the foreigners. There is a large B&Q in the city, but it was very disappointing as they have reduced their bathroom and kitchen showrooms so much. As we walked in I said to OH that the 'meet and greets' had lost their jobs in the cutbacks, as none were to be seen. We went home a different way, as we wanted to come into the village the back way where the big housing estate is being built to see how far they have got now. Mistake! The main road we took had a huge tailback of traffic due to roadworks with traffic lights and we had to inch a few yards at a time till we could get through. They had started a new phase of housebuilding down the lane and the lovely fields are disappearing fast now. Eventually there will be shops, a doctors' surgery and a school built as well. Now we both feel so tired we are having a rest! :-)

Excitement with what sounds like forensics in your road AnnG! I wonder what it was all about. FIL wore 2 hearings aids and I don't know if his aids were the reason, but his graft was taken from his thigh.

Yes, please keep your sleet Mel!! It's got quite windy here now since this morning. How long is your hair now? I seem to remember you could sit on it a few years ago. That was a vivid dream you had. It's amazing how our minds link things together when we are asleep!

The Magpies are carrying twigs for their nests now and we saw 2 pairs of Swans in one of the fields that floods badly, even into the bungalow gardens. I hope they find soewhere high to build their nests or they will get swept away.

They still haven't found that little boy that fell into the river.
