oh muffs an upper arm tat at 70+ aint what it should be and looks a mess,a lady I once nursed had some done in her her early years and was unheard of then as they came with a name tag:}} and at near 80,they was gross,,,,,,,the skin all wrinkled together that any picture was a rumpled mass of a blue blob,

go for top of foot more fat there,

Muffy I had a tat done when I was 45 [my mid life crisis] and I dont regret it, I love the way it feels naughty...Its at the nape of my neck so I can hide it or show it off whenever I want ..and I love being kissed on it!! ..I didnt think it hurt at all but since the violator rose has a lot of shading it might be a bit uncomfortable buy tattoo gue {its a type of salve] from tattooist this really helps healing process Go Ahead You Know You Want To!

lol the foot would be even worse I would imagine a tattoo on the bone they say is far more painful and feet are very boney places - also a few weeks after your tattoo it will scab up and fall off (the scab will fall off not your foot!) - with shoes on that must be really hard cos would constantly be rubbing the scab!

Must admit the hip was my first choice Maddie. Display or not display the choice is mine etc.

It's just the pain thing......too much and I will end up with 2 squiggly lines after I bolt lol xx

Maddiecow Report 25 Jan 2010 22:22

I had one on my hip almost 20 years ago, at least I can cover it up and its rarely on display now things have gone a bit south - so has the tattoo actually its more like my bum than my hip these days :)

But I can go swimming and cover it up easily enough and only show it with a high cut costume if I choose too - not all that aften these days.

I dont regret it, but it was very painful but I am glad of wear I chose to have it as alls well and good when your 20 or so - but ladies in their eighties dont look so hot on the beach with a faded tattoo.

The hip will hurt but at least you can grow old gracefully and still have a rebellious tattoo!

Mine are all on my back and were almost painless

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 25 Jan 2010 21:40

I did toy with the idea of a blue butterfly (long story) but it hasn't been in my head for as long as the violator rose has been so I reckon the rose trumps the butterfly for that reason.

What SORT of pain is it?

I imagine it to be kind of scratchy?

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 25 Jan 2010 21:26

I HAVE been considering this for the last almost 20 yrs Jane.........I'm still not set either way but it's only the thought of the pain that is stopping me ...I DO want the tat lol x

jan50 Report 25 Jan 2010 21:24

It's your call, Muffy! If you really want it then go for it! (Isn't that just going against my previous advice! LOL!) Couldn't you just do a transfer print, in case you change your mind?

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 25 Jan 2010 21:23

I was down to two choices.

The Spurs cockerel (I'm actually married to a Gooner for my sins lol)and as he's not over keen on me having anything at all It's prob best to veto that one....much as I will be a Yid for life.........

Soooooooo that leaves Depeche mode's violator album rose.......which I have a pic of in my living room and is familiar to all the family......

Maybe it IS a midlife.......but i've worked damn hard for these wrinkles and this mind set.....may as well make the best use of it lol x

Aw well I'm sagging already so it's not like i'm having it done in my physical prime LOL xx

Afraid I must agree with Sylvia. As time goes by, so does the skin. Let's see in 10 years' time if Posh Beckham's neck tats are down to her shoulder. I've got a small scar from when I was a kid which was just by my knee - now it's part way down my leg! So beware, is what I would suggest. And laser treatment to remove tats is costly! (Sorry to be negative, but this is my point of view.)

It's the name of a Depeche Mode album from the late eighties Joy LOL
