I also loved Hamish McBeth.

Does anyone remember Luke's Kingdom, I had a terrible crush on him,and me wed with 4 kids.

Who mentioned Hamish McBeth?

One of the funniest shows on TV ever - and isn't Robert Carlyle just class?

I remember the road-sign in Loch Dubh "no two sheep walking side by side" and -best of all - Wee Jock's Lament" - didn't you just cry?

TV John McIver, Lachie Junior, the lovely Isobel Sutherland, Rory and Esme - brilliant characters

TV at its best - and not a shade of the why bother factor in sight!

Loved Poldark and also loved the poldark books (and I still have most of them).
Also loved Upstairs Downstairs
And (was it) Family at war.
Forsyte Saga.
Onedin Line

I also quite liked Howards Way, mainly because of the setting I think.

I notice nobody has said they would like to see a return of Triangle!!!!

The Professionals, but Bogie & Boyle must still be in their younger, fitter days....

I had a real thing abt Lewis Collins..

Lee

Lee Report 23 Jan 2010 15:01

I would like to see the return of some light hearted comedy on the telly the likes of Candid Camera, Game for a Laugh and The Comedians,
and a lot less of the PC carp (sp) we see now.

Also how about some variety shows with magicians, dancers, singers,
like we used to have in the seventies and eighties with the likes of Rolf Harris as compare and the Young Generation dancers (used to love those chicks with the mini skirts) ;-))))))))).

Shoot em ups thats what the guys like, bring back Laramie, Bonanza, Rawhide, The Untouchables.........

Lee ;-)))))))))
We can but dream.

Hi Suzian,I still can't think what that show was called, but The Adventure Game dosn't sound familiar,I think that it must have been on early evenings because I would be at work later.

I agree Squirrel.
Around Christmas, I happened upon 'The Magic Roundabout' - I think it was a film.
It wasn't the lovely innocent jerky puppets I remember. It was computer generated and definitly 'drug orientated' - but still for children!
I don't know if 'The Magic Roundabout' is still on TV and shown this way, but my grand daughter was giving me strange looks as I ran off the characters' names!

Most of 'The Woodentops'' charm was the way they moved - especially Spotty Dog!

I don't want bagpuss to be remade, they were classic episodes but often when children's programmes are remade they have a modern slant to and are often disappointing.

I wish they had made more at the time and have found them perfectly preserved in a vault somewhere ;)

I would dearly love them to start Coronation Street right from the beginning....But I understand that some of the episodes are not for re-release due to legal reasons....what a shame....I remember some of them and also my Mother enjoying what seemed like 'real' life......Tis not the same now though....

No I am not old!....I just have a very good memory as long as it wasn't yesterday :-)))))
