~~~Secret Red ^^ Squirrel~~~ **007 1/2** Report 2 Jan 2010 18:04
Hi Joy, I realise that, I was just speculating about what might have happened if they had.
I think something needs to be done about the current system (when i say system i don't just mean the computer side of things but what happens when people report posts/threads)
If they say it was deleted by accident - then you have to ask what the hell reason did they have to be on it in the first place ???
No reason that i can think of other than someone complaining about it - sorry, but can't help being cynical.
I was wondering about that Joy, there appears to be a lot of random deletions - perhaps GR needs an overhall? I wonder if they had merged the 2 companies together whether this system would have been scrapped?
GR do not have the ability or software to retrieve threads
once deleted they are gone forever
or so they told me
The site is becoming increasingly unstable. The reply received about the previous stickied thread that had disappeared was that an error in the site had caused its disappearance.
You're absolutely right Lynda!
Even non contentious threads such as scrap-booking have been removed without explanation from general (nb. not that I'm saying Jean's thread was contentious)
I just think it's such a shame in this instance that the thread was so important. Also why delete it, surely they can unsticky a thread without deleting?
Oh dear I do hope it is a glitch and GR can somhow bring it back............even if someone did complain I'm sure GR would have ignored the request
Hello my lovely Uggers ((((Hugs))))
You're right there's been quite a few mishaps lately. Perhaps if more time was taken, it would save them time in recriminations later.
Jean passed away on Xmas Eve, so its just over a week since the thread went up, but it wasn't stickied until a few days later, & the 2 weeks should run from the date it was stickied, or at least thats what GR implied.
I hope GR will offer Lynda an explanation on why it went, especially after a previous stickied thread for Jean also went for no reason at all .
Its a bit of a coincidence isn't it ??
I also agree with SRS. enough unpleasantness without imagining it before we actually know.
Lets hope it was a glitch and not a very sad person making a complaint but as has been said previously surely it would be looked into if a sticky was complained about it beggars belief
It's not definite that anyone has asked for the threads removal, best wait until GR come back to us before individuals are accused.
However, it's odd that the whole thread was deleted rather than "unstickied".
Surely GR must have questioned why the said person wanted the thread removed, especially as it was a "stickied" thread ??
Julia Report 2 Jan 2010 16:26
Dawnie, because that is what some people on here are like, as in the person that had the other thread about Jean removed. They are just jealous of someone else, albiet a late person, getting all the attention, whilst they are not the centre of things.
Muffyxx Report 2 Jan 2010 15:03
I hope GR have an explanation for this.....ie accidental glitch or something.......... because I would be furious to think that ....firstly there was a complaint about it in the first place.......and secondly that the complaint. was actually acted upon.....
I HOPE that if someone DID ask for it's removal they're happy in their spiteful little bubble .........DISGUSTING!
