I spoke to Jean on the phone tonight and was giving her all the news and I told her about your mum. She asked me to pass on her good wishes to both of you and hopes that mum now goes from strength to strength.
She can sympathise with the dishy doc/racing heartbeat part pmsl

Hayley,
you have been through the mill this last week haven't you? I too knew something was up by the postings on FB but as I hadn't seen anything on here, I thought that you would tell us eventually when you felt upto it.
now listen here missus you take care of yourself as well otherwise you will be of no use to your Mum when she comes home. I'm glad to hear that they have now sorted her out and that things are improving and that she will soon be allowed home.

Take care and lots of hugs to you both.

Sorry to hear that your Mum's had such a rough time recently, but great that she is now on the mend.
You did well to be so calm in a difficult situation.
Take care of yourself now, while she's being looked after in hospital, then you'll be fit to make all those cuppas for her, when she's in your care.

Hayley, my sister has a pacemaker because her heart was too slow, but i dont see any difference in her at all. Hope your mum has more gumption! Give her lots of affection and let her do a few things at her own pace or she will become dependant. If she wants to peel the spuds, what does it matter how long it takes her.

Glad your mum's on the mend now Hayley.
May be a good idea for you to take some 'me' time before she returns home - you must be eshausted!

Hello you,

I am so pleased your Mum has been sorted out medically speaking, I know you have been so worried and in shock.

Now get some rest yourself and then start looking for that diamond ring, Christmas (sorry for saying that word) isn't that far away.

Take care of yourself.

Love Sue xx

Mums ... can't live with 'em ...

Dads too. Only a few months before my dad was diagnosed with the melanoma that almost killed him (the coronary artery blockage did that job before the cancer had a chance), I visited him one summer weekend and he wasn't feeling too well. Next day I got the call he was in the ICU and needed a pacemaker right away.

They ambulanced him to the big cardiac hospital in my city 3 days later ... and found he had a hospital staph infection that meant they couldn't do it until it was certified cured, a month. After a few more days in hosp, he spent the next 3 weeks at his summer caravan ... with no phone. Wouldn't stay with me. He did check in religiously every night with one of us by pay phone. But yeesh. Those b'dy stiff upper lips! Don't worry about me, I just have a life-threatening condition, but I don't want any fuss, eh?

Pacemakers are great gadgets, and she should be just fine now.

All the best to your mum, and I pass on a couple of smacks you may administer when they seem needed.

Ooh yes I remember the midwife flicking their little feet, I don't think I would have remembered in your circumstances though Hayley so well done for instant recall.

Hayley, how terrified you must have been, you and your family. Thank goodness your mum is now on the mend, and will soon be home with you for some real spoiling.

(((((((((((hugs))))))))))

Now... about tickling a baby's feet... you are absolutely right... and if a tickle doesn't work, a flick with the fingers.... or blow gently into the ear.... I was told all of those by an old school gorgon of a midwife... not really, she was lovely, but still frightened me half to death! Well done you for remembering that in a crisis.

Love

Hiya Hun, glad to see the news continues to be good, and that you're feeling a bit better in yourself about it all.

Try not to worry about what might have been if.......

I wasn't, it happened the way it was meant to happen, and she's had the right treatment, and she'll be fine.

She must be exhausted after everything she has been through now, so she should make the most of the few more days she'll be in hospital. Meanwhile, stock up on the Horlicks (the proper stuff, not the instant lol)

Mums are very precious, so I am glad that you have the opportunity to fuss over her and look after her for longer.
