Hayley, l am so sorry to read what your mum has been through but glad to hear she's now feeling better now.
Thats the thing with a heart attack some times the person having one does not realise their having one, when OH had his back in June he thought it was heartburn it wasn't till he said he had pains up his arms that l knew then what was happening and as we were out shopping and not far from the hospital l drove him there., my isn't it scarey when all those doctors and nurses are there working on them, but glad that he was getting the attention he needed.
Hayley l am really happy that your mum is recovering and hopefully will be home with you all soon, you take care of yourself also as mum needs you now, x

Hayley

I am so sorry to hear about your Mum but am glad that things got sorted in the end.

We had a similar thing with my Mum about 10 years ago (she is now 77) . She kept passing out all the time, we had to ring for an ambulance on at least three occasions, her heart rate had almost stopped in the ambulance on each occasion but by the time she got to A&E everything was back to normal. She had to wear the 24hr monitor as well but nothing ever showed up. An ECG showed that she had had a mild hear attack at some time. To cut a long story short, after many tests and months of worry she had a pacemaker fitted. Like a new lease of life, just has to have the batteries checked and replaced every so often. Has even seen her safely through a cancer op and combined radii/chemotherapy two years ago.

Sending much love and hugs to you and yours, especially your Mum.

Hiya Hun, glad to see the news continues to be good, and that you're feeling a bit better in yourself about it all.

Try not to worry about what might have been if.......

I wasn't, it happened the way it was meant to happen, and she's had the right treatment, and she'll be fine.

She must be exhausted after everything she has been through now, so she should make the most of the few more days she'll be in hospital. Meanwhile, stock up on the Horlicks (the proper stuff, not the instant lol)

Hayley, how terrified you must have been, you and your family. Thank goodness your mum is now on the mend, and will soon be home with you for some real spoiling.

(((((((((((hugs))))))))))

Now... about tickling a baby's feet... you are absolutely right... and if a tickle doesn't work, a flick with the fingers.... or blow gently into the ear.... I was told all of those by an old school gorgon of a midwife... not really, she was lovely, but still frightened me half to death! Well done you for remembering that in a crisis.

Love

Daff xxxx

Ooh yes I remember the midwife flicking their little feet, I don't think I would have remembered in your circumstances though Hayley so well done for instant recall.

Mums ... can't live with 'em ...

Dads too. Only a few months before my dad was diagnosed with the melanoma that almost killed him (the coronary artery blockage did that job before the cancer had a chance), I visited him one summer weekend and he wasn't feeling too well. Next day I got the call he was in the ICU and needed a pacemaker right away.

They ambulanced him to the big cardiac hospital in my city 3 days later ... and found he had a hospital staph infection that meant they couldn't do it until it was certified cured, a month. After a few more days in hosp, he spent the next 3 weeks at his summer caravan ... with no phone. Wouldn't stay with me. He did check in religiously every night with one of us by pay phone. But yeesh. Those b'dy stiff upper lips! Don't worry about me, I just have a life-threatening condition, but I don't want any fuss, eh?

Pacemakers are great gadgets, and she should be just fine now.

All the best to your mum, and I pass on a couple of smacks you may administer when they seem needed.

Hello you,

I am so pleased your Mum has been sorted out medically speaking, I know you have been so worried and in shock.

Now get some rest yourself and then start looking for that diamond ring, Christmas (sorry for saying that word) isn't that far away.

Take care of yourself.

Love Sue xx
