Good point Rose, so where would you stand on this ?

Jane

Jane Report 31 Aug 2009 22:34

LOL Uzzi .I saw the effect (not in my cat) but in my friends lol.I have to say I would have liked to have tried things, but never had the guts.Thank god I was gutless ,cos I think I would be the type of person who would have not found it easy to give up ,had I started down that route.

there is no such thing as a 'safe' drug, addictive or otherwise it has a long term effect ... even for those who don't use often. The trouble is it doesn't 'show' in the same way as acid lines or a burnt away nose or lying in the gutter blind drunk.

UzziAndHerDogs Report 31 Aug 2009 22:31

Suemaid I never have believed it either, regardless of the reports. I have always found that those who got addicted to hard drugs never really started on the wackey but jumped straight away to H or what ever

UzziAndHerDogs Report 31 Aug 2009 22:28

Jane yes I can imagine but will not explain why ( Yet )

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 31 Aug 2009 22:28

Uzzi, I don't think whacky tobacky leads to hard drugs physically but some people who may have an addictive personality may be tempted to try other drugs or drink or even gambling.

Absolutely nothing :-)

I saw too many acquaintances get into trouble. None of my close friends from childhood have touched anything other than tobacco either.

Sue (who takes heaps of prescribed drugs now...lol)

Julie Report 31 Aug 2009 22:26

I smoked ciggies for 33 years.......but what made me laugh was when i had one of my Tattoos done i was told not to smoke well i knew he was talking about puff so told him i don't

Funny how people can get labeled

Rose, I never bowed to peer pressure. I always said no if I didn't want to go along with what everyone else did. Luckily my children - especially my daughter - were the same in their teen years.

addiction was always the fear, what is worse wacky (illegal ) or alcohol ( legal)

They used to say that wacky led to hard line drugs, but I doubt that ,

and I have gone through stages in my life when I was getting abit to fond of the ole drink...so just cut it out for a couple of years but I had 2 glasses of wine the other and really enjoyed them and have been craving a drink since.. lol

I used to lie and say I tried this and that to impress me mates but I never did.

suzian

suzian Report 31 Aug 2009 22:23

being an honest wimp, I only tried this once.

I remember it well - one minute I was watching Nastase at Wimbledon in the pub, the next I was back at my house - in the days when "my house" was exactly that - mine.

I was never so scared in all my life - the night seemed to go on for ever. Several showers later (I must have been the cleanest person on the planet that night) and the clock had only ticked on another five minutes.

Well, that was my experience - and not one that I'd ever like to repeat.

Best of luck to you if that's what you care to do - but for me - never again

typed an answer and crashed my computer! lol

nothing, though friends did and I was offered all sorts. Oddly enough despite being a 'mouse' I never felt peer pressure and had no trouble saying no, seeing the effect different drugs had on friends I was certain I didn't need or want !
