Nope, never ever reported. But I think someone may have on my behalf, but not too sure, plus it was a couple of years ago.

Why has Aileen been banned ? And Whirley for that matter. 6 months is a long time.

Tricia, I really can't understand Aileen being reported, never mind banned:(

I just think if we all report things that don't really need it, we can't moan about getting reported ourselves. All this snitching creates a vicious circle thingy

No I am sorry I told a lie below , I did report someone, 18 months ago ? ....it was a particularly odious little man, who accused a warm hearted, courageous, terminally ill woman of being an attention seeker.

I wouldn't report someone for having a go at me, but in that case I felt wholly justified :)

Ohhhh well done Fi lol

But Mildred, does most of it *really* matter? And if we get rid of all the **baddies**, all we are left with is happy birthday threads and a knitting circle. I need me argie bargie lol

I haven't but I would if I saw one that needed removing.
I always seem to miss the nasty threads simply because if there's a hint of the nasties I go read another thread.
Can't be bothered with the people who try to stir up trouble. Why waste my energy on them?
got better things to do like, minding me knitting!
remember that from when we were kids. "go mind your knitting".LOL
Tricia xx

I am disgusted that lovely caring people are getting bans!

I do report posts when I think they go way beyond the line of decency on a family history website. (time & place for everything) I used to ask for the removal on the thread itself but quite often used to get a mouthful of verbal so i dont bother now.

I also report posts when I think someone is genuinly being hard done by

I did report someone who clearly had an issue with women at the weekend as I found him overbearing and a bully.

I suddenly got the almost overwhelming urge to press the RR button - just because it was there., and to see what would happen. But I managed to resist it.

Sorry Jean, l disagree with you.........people donot have to disagree with what you have written, if they donot like you they will make any excuse to press the rr button.

Ah Jeannie, I should know better shouldn't I but I thought would try for a grown up discussion about it:)))

Oh David.... you silly sausage you know a lot of members can't
be told.... they take offence if someone disagrees with them and it is sooooooooooooooooooooo easy just to press that RR button (:

Keith, I don't know anything about the pm and don't want to - none of my business - but just wondered why you couldn't deal with it yourself and had to go to GR about it?

Thanks all:))

i have reported for flame baiting, or when it's gone OTT with bad language, but I wouldn't say regularly. I do say so though, I don't hide behind anonymous reporting. I didn't report any at the weekend, I was too busy commenting.

In fact, I'm surprised I wasn't reported myself, seeing as I disagreed with certain people...:-)))

Uggers

Uggers Report 21 Jul 2009 17:55

I'm asking because I really don't get it - we all know there have always been people who goad and stir stuff up but does it really matter? Unless someone is really being vilified or there is personal information or a thread or post * really* needs removing for another reason, I can't understand why it just can't be ignored or tackled head on, rather than *taking it higher* lol
