morning Shimm's. I was gonna do some more gardening today, but after yesterdays digging over my veg plot, have got a bad back....ouch...

But, i managed to get my carrots, pak choi, beetroot and runners planted, so am happy about that. Will sit out by the koi pond and take it easy,

Hope you all have a good day. Lovely and sunny & hot here in East Sussex.

Oh Whirley

I know that pain when your back hurts, hope it eases soon; your veggies sound delicious, I grow Runner Beans too.

Tis getting so hot here too ...

Thinking of you sitting by your Koi pond, it will be so peaceful there.

Take care my friend

Follow-up on the whales.

A theory put forward by someone from environment affairs is that
if a female is injured or sick and finds itself in shallow water it becomes disorientated and as the leader os usually a female the rest of the pod will follow.

There is a lot of controversy about the number of whales which were euthanased. As whales are group animals, a single whale which has
been pushed back into the water will return to the beach.

(I must apologise for once again hitting the wrong key and deleting, I seem to be doing this with regular monotony). Sorry.

Good afternoon all. I've just come on after watching TV.
First day of winter here - and feels like it too. Dull and showery.

Just been reading another thread where reference was made to someone coming at them with potatoes on their shoulders. Potatoes?? I think she means chips and I always thought that those chips were chips of wood. Don't know which of us is right, but I was amused by it. It conjured up the vision of someone daring a person to knock a big ugly spud off their shoulder!

My bedtime now. I'll be back when it's YOUR bedtime. Goodnight!

Dear Berona

Hello

So you are going into winter and in UK, we have summer!

Now don't get jealous!

In a couple of days, it will be our infamous weather again-
all four seasons in the same day!

Our summer last year was appalling.

We went to a nature reserve when the autumn came.
It was a reasonably warm day.

Wild flowers, tree leaves changing colour and the wildlife!

Magical.

Hope everything is well for you and your fellow countryfolk.

Very best wishes
xx

I'm back! I've been back for a while, but have been wading through the threads to see what I might have missed.

Dull and showery again to-day, but even though more showers are forecast, the long-range forecast is for a reasonably 'dry' winter. That's the kind of winters we have had now for about ten years! Just enough rain to make the roads bad enough to cause traffic accidents, but not enough rain to give us the amount of water we need - or even to water the gardens for us.

I know we are spoiled here. We moan about how hot it is in Summer - then we can't take it when the temperature drops below 20!

Good morning everyone, am hoping you've all slept well. :))

Luvin Autumn Elizabeth ... watching as colours change.

Talking about 4 seasons in one, today is meant to be another scorcher, yet my son was saying that the weather will be colder next week. xxx

Morning Berona

Not sure if we'll have water bans on hosepipes and more again this year.

I remember winters where real snow fell, we could make snowmen, go whizzing down hills on trays; now ... children see snow, get so excited yet by the time their sledges are out, it's gone. xxx

Feels like a hot humid day here already ...

Good morning Shimmer and all

Mummo, buy a fan, leave it running overnight, you could have it on a timer, they are inexpensive, but more important. you will get a good restful nights sleep because the air is cooler and moving

Goodmorning Shimms and anyone else who is around.

I think it is going to be a nice day here too to-day.

Are you off on holiday Shimms? When I go away I pack eveything but the kitchen sink, I have never learned to travel light and then of course don't use half of what I've taken.
