Good afternoon my lovelies, I am a silly moo Sallie, it's Friday I have the hospital not Thursday. Thank goodness I looked at the calender and noticed, or There I would have been, at the hospital one day to early....silly me lol. Your choice of a light beige carpet is a good one, at least should you decide to paint the room a different colour, the carpet colour would go with any other colours, as it's a neutral shade.
Oooh Huia, I hope the dental appointment went well. I may end up having to go back myself, despite having a check up last week. For the last two days, I have had a slight tooth ache, in the upper gum, and am wondering if I may be starting an abscess. When I phoned the surgery this morning, I was told to ring back early Thursday morning, if it doesn't stop aching. But believe you me, if it's aching in the morning, I shall be ringing them again, in case I need anti- biotics to clear it up.
Jean my love, the before and after photo's sound like a good idea to me. It's a pity that you have to get rid of your bits,as you have not had most of it for very long have you. I seem to remember J moving things around for you to have your craft room. My memory could be wrong, but it only seems like it was done last year. But hey, time flies by, when you are having fun, or when the memory plays you up. lol
Nothing exciting been happening here today, so I have not really got any fresh news for you, but just wanted to pop in to let you know that I am still around. Love and hugs to all, Mo xxx

Hello girls,
Mo, I felt sure that you had to go to the hospital some time this month, but couldn't remember the date. Just as well you checked your appointment or as you say you would have been there a day to early.....stil that's better than a day to late.lolol!!!!
Alun has been having problem with wax in his left ear for about ten days, he's been putting olive oil in it once a day...his hearing is coming back slowly but when he got up this morning he couldn't hear in that ear again and then part way through the morning his hearing came back again. If it keeps on he said he will mention it to the doctor when he sees him on 12th July.
Jean, have you got much crafting stuff left to get rid of now? Oh! it is a tiring job having to sort through things that we need to get rid of, it's a job I don't like doing. Trouble with me, is that I get sentimental with some things and don't want to get rid of them.lolol!!!
Hope D is starting to feel much better and that she rests and takes care of herself. Sending her love and hugs.
Will speak to you all later.
Love, Sallie.xxx

I am up extra early this morning (have already had my brekky). I have an appointment at the Super Clinic for a field vision test. As they will dilate my pupils I will leave my vehicle at our Hospice shop and get a bus to the clinic. When I am finished there I wont be able to drive for a while, but can get a bus back to the shop as I am on working this afternoon. I will leave the till and eftpos work to my partner so I don't make any mistakes! My eyes should be ok for driving by the time our day is finished.

Hi Mo, and everyone
I had not realised that it was so long since I had posted.
We went away to a conference on June 1 ................. had a bit of trouble on the way. The clutch of the car wore out, and the car came to a halt ................ on a steep long hill .............. it was a 6 to 8% grade that went on for about 30 or 40 km to the 1440+ summit pass.
Fortunately, a friend saw us, stopped and used his cell phone to call a tow truck ..... actually, we were very lucky that there was cell phone reception in that area!
The truck towed us about 40 km to the nearest Subaru maintenance, which fortunately was in the same city we were going to. The maintenance shop was run by the local Mercedes-Benz dealer ................. we got super service! It did cost a lot more than we had originally planned on spending at the conference!! They had to replace the clutch and a cylinder. But they put the car through a car wash before handing it back to us. It happened on the Saturday, and it took them until Wednesday to get all the parts in the shop and then installed. We picked it up on Thursday morning ............... which was the day we had planned to leave anyway!
The conference was good, and we saw a lot of our botanist friends.
The widow of our friend who died early in May was also at the conference we were at 10 days ago ................ she is doing very well. A couple of little weepy moments, but only momentarily.
She's having a "Toast" for her husband this coming Saturday ............. he had an incredible wine cellar, so she hopes that a few bottles will be emptied!
We're going over there for the "Toast", will stay overnight in a nearby hotel, then come home on Sunday.
Otherwise, we are both well. We have not yet been up to the cabin (too busy!!), but now have a realtor going to look at it and give us an appraisal for selling.
Take care everyone
s xx

I left home much earlier than I needed to this morning. I parked outside our shop just after 8 a.m. and crossed the road to walk up to the bus stop, about 10 mins. When I got there I wondered if I had turned my headlights off when I had parked, but couldn't be bothered walking back to find out. The bus came at 8.35 and arrived at the clinic stop before 9.00. My appointment wasn't until 10.00 so I could have checked my lights and caught the next bus.
They didn't dilate my pupils. When I arrived back at the shop at 11.35 I found I had left my headlights on, and went inside the 'girls' told me that everybody who went into the shop would tell them. (Embarrassed smiley here). The engine started when I tried it. Not that I was worried as the garage where I usually get it serviced was just a short way up the road, so they could have dealt with it if the battery had been flat.
Another day of good sales in the shop.

Sallie, tell Alan to try the oil twice a day, that should work. Still warm here but 30mph winds. Lanzarote is always windy.
Jean, reading what you have sold already and tables still to sell, I had no idea that you had put in so much stuff for your craft, no wonder it takes up a lot of too. Hope you can clear the rest soon then. Mo, hope the tooth is ok and not an abscess.

Ann we have freinds in the place were you are and they are moving to their villa for two weeks in Correlelo (sp) I think they will move there soon, they go almost every fortnight...and they say there is always a breeze or high winds.... still sunny though... nice here at the moment,so time for a spot of lunch .... love Jean xx

Ann, thanks I'll tell Alun when he gets home........person at the chemist told him once a day. I'm sure that when I was growing up if anyone had problems with their ears olive oil was used as you said, twice a day.
Jean, I'm sure that if Ann and I looked through your 'well stocked shop' we would find something we needed or wanted.lol!! As I've said before, just wish you were living nearer me. Hope that you are able to sell some more of your stuff to the persson that is coming this afternoon. It will be lovely to have a sitting room for you and Jeff, it will be nice and cosy and comfortable I'm sure.
Yes Mo, as you say the beige carpet will go with most other colours. Jennie and Michael called round earlier and said that the dining room looks really nice now. Although both Alun and I both thought the same thing, it's always nice to hear it from someone else.
Huia, thank goodness you were able to start your car when you got back from the eye specialist. I don't drive but I'm sure that it would be easy leaving your lights on. I know Alun sometimes has to go back to where we parked the car to check that he hadn't left the lights on.
Sylvia, glad that the care was all sorted by the time you were ready to leave for home. Hope both you and OH enjoy your time with your friend at the ' Toast ' on the weekend.
A beautiful day here today, so I am wondering what to put on to go and do the weekly shop. Well I had better go and get ready to go and dothe shopping... always glad when that job is done.lol!!
Speak to you all later.
Take care everyone.

Thank you girls, I will let you know how I get on tomorrow.
Bad enough that I had to go back to the dentists today, and pay another £18, for some anti-biotics for an infection in my gum. I had a crown down years ago, and at that time, they made them with metal posts, well the infection is caused by the metal post, and it has to be removed, but my dentist doesn't do it, so I have to go to the hospital and have an xray done there, and get a referral(sp) to a hospital that does dental work, and have the gum split and the crown removed, and the roots treated again. Cor blimey what a to do, if it didn't leave such a gap, I would just have had it removed and not bothered to have the crown replaced, but there would be such a gap in my teeth, that I would look all gummy lol.
Got to go now, take care everyone, love to you all, Mo xxx

Hello girls, Well things at the hospital went well. I am having another scan done in August, to see if the problem has cleared, if not, and it has grown, then they will take things further. So fingers crossed that it vanishes. I also had the xray on my teeth done at the same time (well not literally), and had to take the results disc back to my dentist. Now it's a question of waiting for an appointment, and finding out what hospital I will need to attend. Fortunately, the receptionist told me I will not have to pay and go private after all , phew...that was a relief, me old heart skipped a beat when they told me I might have to go private. Thank you all, for your best wishes, they meant a lot to me. Bye for now my friends, speak to you over the weekend. Love Mo xxx

Hello everyone, hope that you are all okay. I found this thread way down on page 9.
I've been busy making cards, so haven't been on GR for four days. I am feeling more than a bit upset after seeing the news about Sandie on the ' Welsh ' thread. I just can't beieve it....keep thinking I am going to wake up from a bad dream. We use to chat to each other on the phone and earlier this year ten of us met in Abergavenny....had a great time and had a lovely meal together.
Mo, hope all is okay with you and Roly, as we haven't seen you for a few days.
Jean, how is everything with you, J and D. Hope that D is feeling a lot better.
I will send you a pm later on this evening, sorry I am late getting back to you.
Thinking of everyone else and hoping that you are all okay.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello girls, Jean my little divi friend, how can you call yourself that, when you are not one. You were like a little squirrel storing things for future use. I can't believe you are beating me to the paint brush this year,(well even if it's not yourself yielding it) We must get round to re-painting through the lounge and dining room sometime this year. It's no good me asking Roly to do it, so it looks like I shall be doing the DIY myself yet again. lol
Sallie, it was a shock to read of Sandies demise, but you know she wouldn't like to think of you being really upset. Remember what a wonderful time you had together, and your chats on the phone. She is at rest now my love. How many christmas cards have you made now? Will you be doing some for your brothers church this year. Hows the family doing?
Today Roly had an appointment at the sleep apnea clinic, and guess what, after all this time they have said he doesn't have it. Hooray, something is going right for a change. Thursday is the eye specialist, to see if they will remove the cataract they removed once before. The darn thing has grown back again.
Hasn't it been a lovely day today, it was a pleasure to see the sun shining for a change.
Thanks Ann, you must have sent a few of the suns rays over to us. lol
I hope everyone is well. Take care of yourselves, love and hugs Mo xxx

Hi all, have read back too much to comment on in my sleepy state though. Glad all went well for you and roly Mo, hope it continues to do so. Don't envy you the hospital dentistry though. Jean who is buying your stock are you advertising it locally?
Can't believe we had the same b.... problems as we had last October, besides the fact we had an hour+ delay so didn't land at Birmingham until after midnight, the car wouldn't start because of a flat (6 month old) battery. So we didn't get home until gone 3am after getting the breakdown fellow out to start it. If the battery is flat nothing works so T had to get into the boot to stow luggage with a tiny emergency key. Bring back the non auto locking cars of yesteryear.
Don't know why the flight was delayed but as there were 7 mostly Monarch and mostly Birmingham and Leeds etc it was probably something to do with Portuguese air space - They had a general strike yesterday. Then when we landed we had to walk in, and queue to get in the door in drizzle. Lovely !
Anyway, the holiday was good the villa nice and in a good central position and the weather fantastic and I have just done one load of washing. Just hoping it doesn't rain, bright and sunny at the moment. :-)
