Glad you got that over Mo, or rather roly did. Did the DVLA take his licence off him? They did when daughter's OH had a bleed on the brain a few years back. It took ages for him to get his licence back again.
Had a dental appointment this morning, the first appointment for the root canal treatment. Was in the chair half an hour so very tiring. £80 that time, altogether I think it will be about £250. It is a side front tooth so don't really want to lose it as it would mean a new denture.
Then been doing some pre packing sorting as we go away on Thursday. At least that took my mind off the dental pain as it came round. Tooth feels very sensitive at the moment.
Marie, I am pleased that you are feeling well again. I expect all retirement homes will feel small at first but look on the bright side, less housework. Sorry the rain has meant you were unable to get out in the garden. We were supposed to have rain today but we have had cloud and sun.
Jean, glad you have got the electrics fixed. are you taking it up with the original people who installed it?

Ann, Roly was told he was not allowed to drive for four weeks, and tomorrow the doctor is going to check him over to make sure he is safe to drive again.
I cant believe how much trouble I have had trying to get onto this site. It keeps telling me to log in, when I have already done so. This has only been happening since Monday when they made changes to the site. Is anyone else having this problem please?
I have got a check up at the dentists on Thursday Ann, and am dreading what she will tell me. I hope your teeth settle down soon, in readiness for Thursday.

Teeth! I had 3 fillings done over a week ago, and another 3 yesterday and I will be having the last 2 next week. I am making sure I clean my teeth properly in future, after I eat food (but it removes the lovely taste left by the food :-( ).
Off to town soon, working in the shop this afternoon.

Morning all, well the big close down has begun, my friend came last night and she is having all the drawers and a storage unit and some card stock, she couldnt believe how much stuff I have so now I must get some boxes to sort out and price up various craft stuff, once that is sorted I will be able to see what is what....
Mo, I do hope Roly will be able to drive again , I am sure it will be a big boost to his confidence, and a bit easier for you....
Ann, have a lovely break AGAIN :-D :-D do it while you can ,
still no Salle but I expect she is busy card making...miss her though....
Sadly for us D is not well and now has got a sick note, which upsets her greatly, the tablets she was given seems to have made thing s worse, but as ever very positive and sure the relapse will pass, heartbreaking for J and myself...but we will get extra strength to cope with it all....we know prayers work so do miracles...
sending lots of love to the folk over seas, hope you are keeping safe and strong , love and hugs Jean xxx <3

Onwards and upwards with your craft stuff Jean. Will you try and sell it on Ebay?
I am sorry that D's medicine seems to be making things worse. Maybe it is one of those that needs a while for the body to get used to it. sending her lots of positive thoughts for a quick recovery. Better to have a sick note and let her body get better without worrying about having to get into work. <3
OK back to the packing!

Dear Jean , Thank you so much for the prayers Please keep them coming as I am going to need them.
I have started cleaning out my walk in robe, I have a pile of bags on the floor with all the things that are to big for me and also my lovely evening dresses that I don't wear now that I am not in a performing choir also some of the lovely dresses I wore at my children's weddings .
There is a 2nd hand shop that sells pre- loved clothes they may give me a little money for them. I took a heap of Slacks to Gym on Tuesday and some of the girls took some home to try them on, I hope they fit them as I do not want them back.
To-morrow Thursday I am going to another retirement village to find out how it all operates and hopefully to inspect one of their units , I won't be able to buy anything until the property is sold which could be some time as there is still a lot of work that has to be completed.it is still raining it is very wet and slippery down our driveway. I do hope we get a nice fine day to-morrow
Hello to Mo, Sallie and Ann I am sorry Jean and Ann to hear both your daughter's are unwell it must be a worry for you both.
My Kathleen seems to be starting to accept what has happened to her ,I do hope so as it is so worrying to see her so distressed.
Love and Hugs to you all <3 :-)

Ann, I am hoping to avoid e-bay the thoughts of all the faffing with packing and sending off, although it wasnt a problem with the B/G sruff which was postage only, but I would like a few coppers for most of my stuff..... what would be good if someone came and made me an offer for everything that was left I shall sort out what I want to keep so I can still do a few cards now and then, once I start sorting that out I can get on with it....
Marie You are always in my prayers , so something is sure to be just right for you , I am a firm believer in the power of prayer..... take care dont fret all will be well....
We have just done some shopping J and I , I found I didnt get the pain in my hips if I didnt use my walking stick, so shall get one of those wheelie things with seat attached, for longer treks....lol.... now I deserve a coffe, so bye for now.
love Jean xx

Hello girls, tis moi, I am back with a smile on my face. Marie, you should hold a yard sale, or go to a boot fair to sell your over large clothes, the extra money will come in handy for your move, when that comes around. I hope you had more luck at the new retirement village than the last time. It's heartening to know that Kathleen is coming to terms with her problems, and starting to get on with her life. Bless her it is so hard to adjust, especially when the injured party doesn't have an idea what has been happening before hand. Believe me, it's does your heart good to see them pick themselves up, dust them selves down, and start over again. It takes a lot of courage to do it, and Kathleen has got her courage from yourself.
Huia, I am praying I don't need any treatment for my teeth, but just lately I have been suffering from ear aches every so often. I am hoping that the pain is not coming from the last upper back tooth I have left. If she decides it's going bad, it will have to come out, and I will gum my food to death, unless she can do a crown of course. I dont fancy having false teeth, knowing how Roly suffered with his, ( they are still looking at me from the inside of the glass on the bathroom shelf lol ) They only time they see light of day, is when he cleans them, and puts them back in their glass home. ;-) Shocking I know.
Jean, what a pity about your craft things, you have always been so busy card making. Surely you are not giving up all together are you ? Perhaps you have mentioned about it on an earlier page and I missed it, if so forgive me. I am sorry to hear that D is not to good at the moment. I do wish they would get her medications sorted out, she has been messed about enough in the past. Both yourself and J must be worried about her, but she wouldn't want you to do so. But how can you not worry, we as parents always worry about our children ,no matter how old they become.
Cooeee Ann, just in case I miss you later, have a wonderful time both of you. Are you off to the same place you normally go to at this time of year. Hopefully you will have connection where you are going, and be able to contact us,to update us on how it's going. I hope all the packing is now done and dusted, remember the wellies and umbrella's just in case.
Good news here, Roly saw the doctor today, and after checking him over thoroughly, she has said he can drive again. She is pleased with his BP and his blood sugar levels, as we had kept a daily diary to show her. Looking back over it, since he came out of hospital, it has all dropped to more acceptable levels, thank goodness.
When oh when are we going to get our summer, it's been blowing a gale and raining all day today, thoroughly miserable. Over the last few days we have had to have the heating on, where it has turned so cold Brrrr.
Once again I had trouble getting logged onto this site. I could read everything, but could not reply to any post as it kept telling me I was not logged in pft what a site GR is turning out to be.
I am getting worried about Sallie now, as we have not heard from her in a while. This is not like her at all. It would appear the black dog has got a hold on her again, bless her.
Well my friends, I must go now. Love to you all. Mo xxx
P.S where's our Sylvia got to, I do hope she is well. Has anyone heard from Joyce lately please.

Hello everyone, sorry not been on for a while, but I’ve had a few problems trying to answer both Mo and Shaun’s threads. Each time I got onto a page, the blinking thing just froze and the only way I could get off was to go back to the Community Boards each time. Tuesday, I managed to get onto Mo’s thread and actually wrote a long reply and had almost finished when I lost the whole lot.
We’ve also had a few problems with the water pipes, after the bathroom suite was in....one of the pipes burst open and flooded the bathroom and the downstairs toilet which also affected the light in there, so Alun had to switch the electric off at the mains and dismantle the ceiling light. On Sunday we found that the water had somehow seeped through the wall from the downstairs toilet into the dining room into the carpet, so we have to have a new carpet in there. We went to the shop that we have bought our carpets from ever since we have been living here, luckily the carpet we like was in stock so they are coming to fit it for us on Monday morning. I’m afraid it has been one of those weeks.....never mind, things could be a lot worse.lolol!!!
Mo, so pleased to know that Roly can still drive, I’m sure that both of you are relieved that he can and also that his BP and blood sugar levels are down. It looks as though you have the same kind of weather that we have had over the last couple of days, also had thunder and lightening along with the heavy rain today.
Ann, sorry I missed you, hope you and T will have a good holiday at Lanzarote, I’m sure your weather will be a lot dryer and sunnier than ours here.lol!!! Enjoy yourselves and take care.
Jean, I’m sorry to hear that D isn’t too good at the moment, let’s hope that they will get her medication sorted very soon, so that she will start to feel a lot better. It’s a shame that you won’t be doing so many cards from now on and are selling a lot of your stuff, but I’m sure that it will also be nice for you and J to have your own sitting room and D to have hers so that her friends can come round for a good natter.
Marie, it is nice hearing from you. I hope you got on alright at the retirement village you went to see today, let’s hope that you will get your house sorted soon so that you can move to the one that suits you best. Pleased that Kathleen is starting to accept what has happened to her, so that she can start to move forward and on with her life. Although I’m sure it must still be difficult for her. Let’s hope that something good will come out of all that has happened.
My cousin has been going through the same thing over the last six to seven weeks, she and her husband have split up...he has found someone else....they have been married for 24 years.
Huia, you are brave having all those fillings, I’m absolutely terrified of dentists. Hope that all is going well in the shop for you and that you are still enjoying working there. Take care.
We have just had a power cut, so will finish this off now and will speak to you all later.
Take care everyone.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Oh thank goodness, Sallie, we were worried about where you had got to my love. What a traumatic time you have had, I do hope you had insurances to cover the damage done. You are both braver than I would have been, I think I would have been pulling my hair out with frustration. Then to top it all, you had the power cut, that was the last thing you needed.
A friend of mine is getting married in August, and last night a crowd of us went out for her hen night. Stupid me, didnt twig, a hen night, yes o.k a nice meal but shock horror a drag queen and two strippers. How could I not have realised after being on this earth for so long. This was the first and last hen night I will ever go to, unless it's a quiet meal with dancing afterwards. Arriving home at 12.45 a.m, Roly sat up and waited for me to get safetly, bless him, so we are both shattered now, and will no doubt be going to bed early.
I will say goodnight, god bless, love and hugs, Mo xxx

Mo, thank goodness that the meal was nice, at least that was part of the evening you were able to enjoy.lolol!!! Is it sometime this month that you have a hospital appointment? I know you told us, but my memory isn't as good as it use to be......maybe something to do with my age.lol!!
Well they have fitted the carpet in the dining room, I'm really pleased with it. We spent most of the weekend painting the room, so glad to say that it looks fresh and clean now.
Marie, thank you for asking, since the consultant increased my medication nearly three weeks ago, I feel better, thank goodness. I have an appointment at the beginning of July with my own doctor, so hope I will have improved some more by then.
Hope you are able to find somewhere to live soon. I will be thinking about you.Good Luck!
Jean, hope D is feeling a bit better again today......the rest will do her good I'm sure.
Ann, hope you and T are having a lovely holiday.Take care both.
Sylvia, hope all is going along ok for you and OH.
I haven't heard anything from Joyce for about a month, hope that she is feeling a lot better than she's been for a long while.
Huia, how are things with you? Hope everything is going along okay.
Well I am going to make myself some lunch now and then I am going to make a start on making Christmas cards.
Speak to you all later.
Take care.

Oh my goodness Sallie, christmas cards already :-D :-D :-D When will you be having us round for a meal in your lovely, freshly painted dining room. Prawn cocktail for starters for me please, I don't mind what we have for the main meal, but can I have a nice slice of strawberry gateau for my afters, yummy my mouths watering thinking about it. Yes my love, you are right, I see the specialist this Thursday at 9.40 a.m. I am hoping and praying it's somethings that can be sorted out easily. I am sooooo pleased that the new medication is helping you Sallie. Your doctor will be very happy with your progress, but no one could be happier than me, believe me. Hows the family doing Sallie?
Ann, how nice to hear from you. So pleased you had a good journey out there, now just relax, and enjoy yourselves.
It would be lovely here, if only the rotten wind would drop a little. The sun is shining but the wind is still chilly. Goodness knows if we will ever get the chance to wear our summer clothes this year girls. Must go and dish the dinner up now, so I will say cheerio for now. Love and hugs Mo xxx

Hello again girls,
Mo I will be thinking about you on Thursday and will be hoping and praying that all will go well for you and whatever it is, it won't be anything serious. Good Luck!
Oh wouldn't it be nice if we all lived near each other so that you could all come to tea. You would certainly have your prawn cocktail and a slice of strawberry gateau, Mo.lol!!!
Jean, good to hear that your sale is going really well. What are you hoping to keep? Are you going to get one of those cupboards that has all the drawers and crafting table built into it? They look great.....if I didn't have Jennie's old bedroom as a craft room now, I would have loved one of those.
Our new carpet is a mid beige, I didn't want anything too dark as we only get the morning sun in the dining room so it can be a bit dark in there at times, especially in the afternoons. We are really pleased with it, it all looks nice and clean and fresh.....need some new curtains now so will have to look to see what's about.
Ann, good to hear that you and T are having a lovely holiday.......enjoy the rest of it and take care.
Huia, hope all went well at the dentist for you and that you were able to get the things done in town as you had planned.
Well girls I'm going to have a cuppa now before going to bed. Speak to you all tomorrow.
Goodnight.
Love, Sallie.xxx
