Hello girls, Sallie, I took Roly back to our G.P today, as his headache is horrific at times. The G.P has confirmed what I thought, and that is, he will obviously have the pain, after what his brain went through. I just have to watch out for any changes in him, ie worse head pain, mouth drooping, slurring of his words, in fact all the signs they show you on T.V of signs of a stroke. I am trying to keep strong, even though at times I feel like having a good old sob. The trouble is, I am watching him all the time, looking for any differences in him. It's hard going, but I wont let it beat me. I do hope you are all well, and I must apologise if I am not here as often I feel I should be. Take care my friends, love and hugs, Mo xxx

Mo, I was just about to write to you , I do hope Roly settles down as it must be awful for him, we are praying that it doesnt go any worse for him or you too, my friends brother had a simular thing last year , but because he was treated quickly and it was a minor stroke he is fine now, and back at work, but it is a worrying time for you all... you can only be there for each other when these things happen, please remember its not a sign of weakness having a weep, almost like a saftey valve, so sob away lovey, I know you have a strong spirit and will come through this,we are always here for you, either message, e-mail or phone.
love and prayers Jean and Jeff xxx .

Mo, I hope the headaches will start to get easier for Roly from now on and that he is over the worse. I hope and pray that he will improve a little bit each day, so that he recovers slowly but surely.
I'm sure that it must be very difficult to keep strong and positive all the time, so Mo cry if you want to. As Jean said, it isn't a sign of weakness, it is a safety valve, it will help relieve the stress and tension you are feeling, so a good cry will help you get through.
I'm always here for you so either send me a message or e-mail me.
Sending both you and Roly lots of positive thoughts and love.
Love and best wishes. Sallie and Alun.xxx

Thank you Jean and Sallie, your kind words mean so much to me. Today has been a better day for Roly. He didn't take any Paracetamol from 4.30 a.m till 4.30 p.m today. The headache is in the back ground now, thank goodness. I drove us up to town today, for coffee with our friends, to get us both out of these four walls. I am going to darts tonight, but leaving my neighbour in charge of Roly. She was a nurse for 42 years, so would know what to do in an emergency. As much as I want to go, I am still a little reluctant to leave him, but know that life has to go on. I will speak to you tomorrow girls. Love and hugs Mo xxx

Mo, glad to hear that today has been a better day for Roly. It's good that he didn't need to take Paracetemol as often today with the pain being not so constant and severe.
It was nice that you were both able to go out for coffee with your friends, it makes a nice change from the same four walls. Hope you enjoyed your game of darts tonight and that your team won. Speak to you again tomorrow.
Love to both you and Roly.
Take care. Sallie.xxx

Hello girls, Just popping in quickly to let you know that things are o.k at the moment with Roly. I am watching the Eurovision Contest at the moment, waiting for Bonnie Tyler to represent the U.K. I pity anyone who sings for our country, as the voting is so political, that our singers don't stand a chance. But heres hoping we at least don't come bottom this year. Take care everyone. Love Mo xxx

Hi all. Mo I hope that Roly continues to improve and that the headache stays away. Good for you to get out as it is easier for you to look after him if you have had time out. Stay strong but as others have said a weep is not a sign of weakness. Take care of you. <3 <3 <3

Many thanks Ann. I hope you are both having a good time. We are having a lovely day today, we do have some nice weather sometimes,( but not very often as you know) LOL
I took Roly up to see friends at the club today. We were only there for a couple of hours, and bless him, he is tired out. He would insist on going, and I believe he wanted to test himself, to see if he had the strength to do it. A little at a time I keep telling him, but he is so insistant that he can do things as he did before....stubborn monkey.
Hoping you are all well, and sending you my best wishes girls. Love Mo xxx

Morning everyone, hope you all had a good weekend. Mo glad to hear Roly is beginning not having so many headaches, I bet he enjoyed his trip out, being indoors all the time isn't good is it? As you say he has to take things slowly, but men are so impatient aren't they? Have just seen the weather forecast for today, chance of thunder storms, it is very warm here at the moment but cloudy, so suppose we could have them later, oh dear! I have just turned the horses out, looks like they will have to go back in, HELP!!! does anyone have any tips for getting a 3 year old to eat, my granddaughter doesn't eat very much, and doesn't like meat at all. she loves yoghurts, some fruits and raw carrots, she has cereal for breakfast but the rest of the day she eats very little. Oh dear, sorry for having that moan. Hope you all enjoy your day. Take care and stay safe. Jean xx :-) :-) :-)

Hello Jeni, Scarlett will eat when she feels like it my love. By eating yoghurts, fruit and some veggies, she is getting nourishment, and you know what they say " you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink" the same goes for children. Our Lilly is very much like Scarlett, she goes through periods of eating everything she sees, then goes of food for days on end, eating only what she feels like. When she is with other children, she seems to think it's a competition, and will eat as much, if not more than the other child. But then I think, children enjoy having other little ones around, when enjoying a snack etc. We know what it's like when we have to eat alone, we tend to not eat a full meal, just having something quick to sustain us. Unlike you, we have rain nearly all day, and we are sat here with the heating on, yet again. It's good to see you on here, please come back and see us very soon. It gets a little lonely on this thread at times.
Hope you are all well, take care of yourselves, love Mo xxx

Oh for goodness sake Jean, how could they build you up, and worry the life out of you, just to cancel your appointment like that. What is the NHS coming to. Stay strong, and try not to worry about it, as it can't be as urgent as they led you to think my love. At least now, you and J can book your holiday, and know that it's not going to have to be cancelled. Get yourselves of to Wales for your lovely break that you both enjoy so much.
We are still waiting for Roly's hospital appointments to come through. He is coping at the moment, but gets tired very very quickly. We went our for lunch today, with friends of ours. The husband drove us, as I didn't know where the restuarant was, but by the time we got home, Roly was ready for a nap, that he didn't get by the way, as the phone rang as he dropped off, bless him.
Ooops got to go, visitors just arrived. Love to all, Mo xxx

Marie ...........
I keep meaning to say ........................ you don't have to scroll all the way back through the pages.
Since the problems started, it is much faster to click on Post Date ................... on the line at the top above the first post
That takes you straight to the most recent page of postings.
Then you just have to go back 1 or 2 pages to find where you last posted.
It is a bit back to front, and you have to go to the bottom of the page, then read up if you ant to read the pages in sequence.
But, it doesn't take 15 minutes !!!!

Hi all, JeniW, (jean), if it is any consolation, our neighbour's little boy only ate weetabix and a few biscuits until he was school age, he used to take bread and butter sandwiches for lunch until he was quite old he always drank lots of milk. He is now 19 and a strapping lad so it did him no harm, and he seems to eat anything including meat now.
Jean what a complete pain the NHS is, did they say why it was cancelled? If you are bothered I would mention it to your doctor ( or dentist).
Mo, hopefully Roly will get less tired as he gets better and builds up his strength.
Hi Sylvia I think we are all a bit lax adding to this thread sometimes.
Where is Sallie? Is she ok? :-)

Silvia, hope you are both doing o.k. and your family, are you off on any major train rides soon? always interesting when you tell us all about it....
Sallie is missing again , bet she has a bit on the side ;-) ;-) and not letting on. ;-) ;-) we do miss you lovey, so hurry back and let us know how the cards are getting on. Hello my lovely friends, good to hear from you all. Just a quick update on Roly...today has been a good day, so fingers crossed for tomorrow. His appointment for his scans, and to see the specialist came through today. He has to go in mid July, to get them all done on the same day.
Jean my love, the clan are fine so far. Lilly has to use a Ventolin inhaler at the moment, they are not sure if she has Asthma, or if it's just a chest infection. Both our great grandaughters are doing well, and growing quickly. Our eldest daughter is still not talking to me, and wont even look at me, if we are in the same room, ie, the hospital when Roly was in there. She does ring her dad on his mobile, just in case I answer the home phone. Oh well never mind, everyone else is as close as ever. Our daughter whose husband left her for another woman, about three years ago, has just got engaged to a lovely man, who treats her like royalty. We are so pleased for them both, and our daughter deserves a man like hime, after the way the last blighter treated her.
Ann, are you still enjoying the sunshine, or is it getting boring now. lol Stay where you are love, because it's been really cold here today, and we have had the heating on again. For goodness sake, it's May, not October, and we should be in summer wear now, not winter woolies and coats.
Hi there Sylvia, like you, I click on post date, it saves so much messing about. I know that Marie was having problems getting onto G.R, and onto this thread in particular. Hows things with you and the family? Any plans for doing the train journey yet? We all love to hear of your escapades on there, and of the people you meet in your travels. Does Viv still post on the other thread? I haven't looked in on there for a while I have to admit. But then I tend to pop in here quickly, just to make sure our friends are o.k, and I love catching up with them all.
Oooh Jean, I forgot to tell you, I was in a competition last Monday at darts. It was teams of four, and guess what my lickle love, we WON, so I have got a trophy to pick up on presentation night. It was a very late night for us all, and we played our last match at 11.30 p.m, I didn't get home till after midnight, and was shattered the following day. You would have been proud of me lovey, but don't waste your money on the normal darts season, as thats when I play rubbish darts. lol ;-)
Must go and get my bath now as I am out tonight, yep, playing darts. :-D Bye my friends, take care, love Mo xxx

Ooooh Ann's back, good, we can hear all her news girls. Jean, you are so unlucky my love, having no electric is a pain in the posteria. Have you got a gas cooker to do your meals? We are lucky that we have got a gas hob, so if needs be, we can boil a saucepan of water up for hot drinks. As it is, we have got the central heating on at the moment, as it's turned so cold here again. Roly seems to feel the cold more now, than before his stroke. I suppose it's because the hospital have taken him off his soluble aspirin temporarily, and his blood is thickening up a bit more....who knows, not me thats for sure. Things are plodding along here at home, thank goodness. No news at all from our Sallie, I will have to message her if we dont hear something soon. I hope you are all well. Take care my friends, hugs to you all, Mo xxx

Sorry going to copy and paste the following so you may have already read it
Had a lovely time, the weather was mixed, a couple of weeks of hot sun and blue skies and a couple more mixed with some cloudy days and some cloudy, windy with patches of sun. However it was warmer than here and we had some nice meals out.
Wendy, our host, was very kind and took us to the shopping centre and also dropped us down in Puerto when she was going down. We also went with Wendy to the quiz run by an English group which was fun, had a good meal there too. And Wendy had a barbecue type evening when it was lovely to eat outside in the evening sun.
Our bed broke and OH fixed it ( no, not the springs!!! The bolt in the folding mechanism) And OH's garden lounger chair broke but he fixed that too.
Well we finally got home at 6am this morning, went to bed for 3.5 hours and now feel jet lagged. Have done our grocery shop though and a wash load, but not unpacked.
The flight was delayed over four hours because the aircraft had a technical problem at Gatwick (BA). We did have 12 euros worth of vouchers each which is something. then it took 15 minutes to get the covered walk way so that was a very long day. Then we had to drive the long way home via M25 and Oxford because the M4 was shut between junctions 13 and 14. Oh and OH pulled his calf muscle as we were getting off the plane, luckily the left one so a good job we have an automatic. And the young woman next to me (We were not able to sit together but I was behind OH both in window seats.) was travel sick three hours into the very smooth flight which was off putting, although obviously not something she would do on purpose.
Anyway back to the unpacking. Good to be back on here, the IPad is very useful but Genes seems to take for ever to download onto it.
