Mo in Kent Report 17 Dec 2012 19:17

Hello me lovelies,
Thank you for the Christmas Card Huia, it arrived today.
Are you spending time with your family over the christmas season?

Ann, everything is also done here. Arn't we clever kids then,we are well ahead of ourselves now.

Jean we had our Christmas darts meal friday week ago. It was sooo exciting (not)
that we are booked up again for next year, but it's on Friday the 13th of December.
I thought they were pulling my leg at first, but no, thats when it is.
Only next year there will be a live band playing, and not a rotten disco, like this year.
Anyway, I aint letting my lickle secrets out, just coz I kissed santa under the mistletoe, you are only jealous.
My christmas stocking is full up..... with my leg.lol Thats about all i'm getting this year boo hoo.

Out for my darts tonight, so see you all later. Love Mo xxx

Sallie Report 18 Dec 2012 10:58

Hello girls , just a quick look to see how you are all getting on. Have been really busy this week, getting the last of the family's pressies and finishing off the last few special cards.

Alun and I are going to Richard's on Thursday evening until early Saturday morning...... going for a ladies only Christmas meal out Saturday night, there will be twenty of us altogether, so looking forward to that. Mo there's also a disco, just hope it won't be as loud and noisy as the one you had last Friday.

Huia, thank you for your Christmas card, it arrived on Saturday morning.

Jean, also thank you for your Christmas card, as usual it's lovely.

Ann, hope you are okay, it's sounds as though both you and Mo are both all organised for Christmas.

I must go now, as in the middle doing some baking and then I hace to make start on getting Richard's bedroom ready for him. I'll try and speak to you all later on.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi Sallie, I am confused here, I know that is not difficult :-D You say you are going to Richards on Thursday until Saturday, then you say you had to go to get Richard's room ready for him :-S

Hope you have a great meal on Saturday and if the disco is too loud, take your hearing aid out :-D

Mo, glad you are all ready for Christmas, strange really as now it seems to be taking ages to get there.

Jean Glad your arm is improving, Have you seen anyone about the cramp in your leg? Have you got anything for it or is there nothing that can be taken.
I looked on line at the Boots site and did see this:
Medication

Some types of medication can cause leg cramps. For example:

diuretics

salbutamol - medicine that is used to treat conditions such as asthma

statins - medicines that lower the level of fats (lipids) in your blood

You should visit your GP if you're taking medication and you start to get frequent leg cramps

So, if you are taking medication Jean and haven't checked with your GP you really should. Hope you can find a solution anyway because I am sure it is very painful.
:-)

Ann,Funny you should say that about my legs, this morning I had trouble walking and the pain was more intense so J made an appointment for me to see the doctor, so cancelled the hair do, and off to the docs, he says I have too much fluid the worry was DVT, but he doesnt think its that, so he has changed my tabs for the time being , seems this new lot will make me use the toilet more so good job we have a downstairs one :-D I need to try and walk more not too easy to do when its painful...still I shall have to see what happens, he noticed my feet and hands were quite swollen too,I am starting to look like the Michelin man :-D :-D :-D like I have said before I hate old age :-| :-| :-|
so hopefully the tabs I have to take at nightime will help me sleep, thats if i dont have to keep getting up for the loo ;-) ;-)

Sallie Report 18 Dec 2012 14:54

Ann, sorry to confuse you, we are going to go down to Richard's on Thursday so that we can take Christie's pressies down for her. Christie's grandad died threee months ago, so this year her nan would like to go up to Christie's mum's in Lincoln and have her children and grandchildren with her for Chrstmas.
As Richard hasn't been able to come up for Christmas for four years because of work, he asked Christie if she would mind if he came here instead of her mum's, she didn't mind at all.

Richard is working up until 5 o clock on Christmas Eve so he will come up then and stay until the Thursday, so looking forward to having him stay.

Ann, I should have explained clearly about going to R's but I was busy trying to do two jobs at the same time, baking and replying to threads on here.lol!!

Not only going down to R's so that we can see and give Christie her pressies, as they had new windows put in the flat two weeks ago I must admit that it's also a bit of nosiness on our part.lol!!

Love, Sallie.xxx

AnninGlos Report 18 Dec 2012 14:58

Jean, I take diuretics but only usually get up once in the night. My ankles swell towards the end of the day too. If I eat grapes in the evening I often have to get up twice, so I assume they are a natural diuretic.

Thanks for that Sallie, got it now. Lol!!!

Mo in Kent Report 18 Dec 2012 16:10

Good grief Ann, Sallie had me confused as well. It was only when I read further down, at the explanation, I realised I was not going doo lally.

Shhhh dont tell Jean I said that I thought I was going doo lally please, she will tease me again, and I am feeling fragile. ( come on then girls...Aaah poor Mo. )
We didn't get in till midnight last night, from darts, and today I feel like a zombie.
It's not as if one drop of liquer passed my lips either. Both teams were in the Christmas spirit, and we were very late finishing.
Most of the opposition were rather tiddly, and when it came to playing the pairs, they couldn't see the darts board very clearly through their drunken haze, that we won all three games. lol

Jean my lickle lovely, you could never look like the Michelin man, coz you is a layyyde.
You need a Gazunda(sp) (a big potty that goes under the bed) to save you having to run to the loo during the night. MWAH xxx

Sallie, wont it be great to have R at home with you for Christmas day. Are J and M coming to you as well.
Hasn't R got to work on boxing day? My J has to, and he is well cheesed off about it.

See you all later girls. Love and hugs Mo

AnninGlos Report 18 Dec 2012 17:05

Early bed tonight then Mo. Pleased to hear that you won the pairs, well done, even if you did have a sober advantage. Don't other people look and sound daft when they are drinking and you are not? Last Thursday most of the golfers and wives went to the Chinese by taxi. T prefers to drive so, as the police are very hot on drink and drive in this area, it wasn't worth risking it. So T just had coke. I decided to join him and I think we were the only ones not drinking. The others were knocking back the red wine. gosh don't they talk a lot after a couple of glasses, mostly rubbish too. :-D

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 18 Dec 2012 20:26

Yes I agree with you Ann. It seems the more people drink, the looser their tongues become.
And I was quite shocked at some of the language. I am by no means a prude, but good grief, it made my hair curl at times.
But they were also very funny to watch.
They invited both of us to go out with them Christmas Eve, but they were so tiddly, they probably wont remember asking us. lol

AnninGlos Report 20 Dec 2012 12:26

Jean :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D That is the number of times you posted. Do you want to emphasise the point. Strange, we had a problem (self inflicted I guess) with out upright freezer yesterday. T went to get a loaf out and the door was jammed open..... with ice!! It had apparently not shut properly and instead of defrosting because the door was open it had just continued making ice. Goodness knows what that did to the electricity bill. Anyway, we removed the drawers (eventually) and T chipped off all the excess ice. It never dropped below 10% so nothing thawed, and I took the opportunity to clear out some meat that was really a bit old and buried. At least I know what is in there now!

I want to try and get a self defrosting one next year, fed up with it icing up. Hope yours arrives ok. Is the food ok inside. And is it covered by your house insurance?

JustJean

JustJean Report 20 Dec 2012 12:58

luckily its almost empty ready for a fill up on sat, J went to get something out and it now appears to be working :-S but we will change it any way cant trust it...we also have tall freezer which isnt frost free so like you it gets a real pain to do so after christmas we are going to get a new one ,

Oh my word Jean, are them there tablets affecting your fingers love, causing your fingers to stutter over the submit button. ;-) ;-) ;-) Bless you, of course we love ya.

It's typical for things to go wrong at this time of year. If it happened after christmas, or even earlier in the year, we would not be quite so stressed about it.
It's the thought of all the extra food that we decide to buy, for the festivities, that makes us panic, when something goes wrong.

See you later girls. Love Mo xxx

Christmas greetings to you all, even if I have already sent you a card. I know it was a scramble to get cards sent this year so I am not sure if I sent them to everybody for whom I had a postal address, or if you will get them in time. *Note to self: get organised next year to start sending cards in September at the latest for overseas.*

Whew, thats it girls, the meats are all cooked, time for a rest now.
Goodness me, we had to go and get some bread and milk this morning, talk about madness out there. Anyone would think the shops were closing for days on end, not just one day.

Now, may I " Wish you all, a very Merry Christmas, and a Prosperous New Year"

Thank you all for your friendship, over the past few years, you have made it so worthwhile coming on here.
If I don't manage to get on here for a couple of days, you know you will all be in my thoughts.
And I will speak to you hopefully on Boxing Day.

Love and hugs to you all. Mo xxx <3 <3 <3

Helloooo girls,
Heres hoping you have all had an enjoyable Christmas. To be honest with you, I am glad it's over for another year.
My poor stomach is full to bursting, if I don't eat meat for a fortnight, I wont be sorry.
Why do we go overboard on our meats at this time of the year. I could eat a plateful of veg any day.
And the chocolates are still waiting to be eaten. We have had a few,but not that many. So tonight, might be a chocolate night for us both.
Then next week, it will be time for a diet.....well a see food diet for me.
I hope to hear all your news soon. Take care my friends, love Mo xxx
