Hope you and J enjoy ' White Christmas ' at the Lowry tomorrow night, it will make a nice change for you to have an evening our.

Hope that everyone is okay and keeping warm.

Hello my chilly friends....brrrr aint it cold, my poor feet like blocks of ice. And thats even with socks AND slippers on.
Like you Sallie, we had to pop up to town this morning for a few bits and pieces, but crikey, we didn't hang around, it was so nice to get back into the house in the warm again.
We have got baby Lilly tomorrow, but I don't somehow think we will be moving from the house.
If we feel the cold, how do poor little mites feel, sitting in pushchairs and not moving around at all. At least our little one, has got warm boots and her cosy toes to keep her legs and feet warm, but I still wont be taking her out.

Ann, please tell me that T has not been out on the golf course today. Last Friday, my friends son, went out in the rain for a round of golf, now thats sheer madness.
I cant even understand how people can go and watch football in a heavy downpour can you.

Jean, I hope you enjoy seeing " White Christmas". It should be nice and warm in the theatre, and just think you can enjoy an ice cream or popcorn whilst there. If you take your teeth out you can gum the popcorn to death LOL but just remember to spit the the husks out, but not down the neck of the person sitting in front of you.
Have fun sweetheart, give my love to J and D wont you please.xxx

Bye for now my lovelies, love and hugs Mo xxx

No Mo no golf today, we did take our friend out for coffee to the local garden centre. T has already said he is not playing tomorrow because the forecast is for a very cold day. Today we had freezing fog all day.

Mo in Kent Report 12 Dec 2012 19:52

Ann, I had to go out to the bin last night, and couldn't believe my eyes, we had freezing fog. Yuk it was awful.
Then this morning, the car was frozen again.
I had to take the small hammer out to break the ice on the bird bath, the poor birds need their drink and food these cold days.

Well girls, I hope you are all well, and not suffering from these conditions. Also that Huia and Marie are not suffering from heat stroke, lucky so and so's.

Bye for now my friends, take care if you have to go out. Love Mo xxx

Morning ladies, thought I would tell you about my trip to the L***y the theatre was not what I expected, it is huge very high building , it was packed with people mostly seniors, we were allocated seats at the very top of the auditorium, bad choice it was very steep and many of us were troubled with being so High up ,sadly the show wasnt what most folk thought it would be, it was an american theme the first half of the show was quite miss- mash , and as we couldnt see the faces of the cast we had difficulty recognizing them, one of the ladies was Wendy Peters who was Cilla Battersby in Corrie and also a man who was Sallies boyfriend, Claire Sweeny was in also, and Ken Kerchavel of Dallas fame, the second act was much better and the scenery changes were excellent, but most folk were pleased when it was over as usual there was a scamble for the lifts , so J and I decided to try and go down the three flights of stairs , managed it but at a cost my knees are killing me now, but really I just wanted to get outside a quickly as possible, the "gods" are not a good place to be when one suffers from vertigo, also the coach hadnt arrived so we had to stand in the cold, once we got on and set of it was peak time and Manchester is not the place to be... the motorway was jammed solid too we left the show at 4.30 and it was 7.00 when we arrived home, very tired and I was aching all over, my J was fine I realise now how big a miracle we had when he was so ill, it is amazing to see how well he is and at 78 he is a very young one, I am the decrepit one now and I find it deppressing when I cant walk and move about as before, also slightly panicked at crowds, so all in all it was not the best trip out, but we got home safely .......
Huia, and Marie look at your mail , christmas greetings to you and those you love......
love and hugs to everyone else and take care when going out ,
love and prayers Jean xx

Hello everyone,
Ah Jean what a shame that what should have been a lovely outing, turned into chaos for you both.
Surely, the people who did the booking, knew that senoirs were joining them, and that being up in the gods, was not a very good idea.
It sounds like there were a lot of well known starts in the show, what a pity you were unable to distinguish who was who from that distance.
J is a very agile gentleman for his age. And he is very lucky to have you as his wonderful wife. You and the family went to hell and back when J was so unwell, and that's what makes you all so very close.
Rest your lickle legs up today, and get your energy back honey.

Well, we have been up to town today, and bought the food we may need for christmas.
What doesn't get eaten then, will be eaten in the following days.
We decided not to have turkey, so have gone for glazed chicken breast instead.
Good old Ice*ands frozen section. Plenty of frozen deserts for the evening, when the children come, they wont want another big meal, they can have rolls and cold meat and pickles, and lots of picky bits.

Love to you all, Mo xxx

Jean that was unfortunate, at least the organizers could have warned you that the seats were up so high, they must surely have known. I would be inclined to complain. As Mo says not good for seniors to have to climb so high. I know what you mean, we once went to the theatre where we were up high, no good to me not being able to see faces because hearing depends on seeing lips move. A great shame though as it sounds as if it might have been a good show. Hope it didn't cost too much. Not helped by the journey home by the sound of it. Hope you will be ok after a good rest today.

Mo, we went shopping this morning and were surprised at how civilized it was in the shop, not that many people there when we went.

E.Mail received Jean. LOL thats never you honey.
Get J to give you a rub down with the sporting life Jean, you will either enjoy it, or suddenly get the use of your knees back very quickly.
Oooh your arm sounds like it has been used as a pin cushion. Nasty nurse must have been having a bad day, and taken it out on you.

Ann, it may have been civilised in the shops today, but you wait till next weekend, the lunatics will be out in force then, buying the shops up like theres no tomorrow.
The shops are only closed for one day, but you would think they were closing for a fortnight.
Yes if you have got a large family, you may need to buy some extras, but last year people were overloading their shopping trollies with all sorts of rubbish.

Bye for now girls, love Mo xxx

Update on the poorly arm saga, I finally went to see the sister who is in charge of the practise nurses about my arm which has got worse and is quite tender, the outcome is , the nurse who took the bloods didnt press hard when she took the last needle out which is the usual way of doing it, she just put a plaster on it so it was still bleeding under the skin ,known as Haematoma (sp)and will take some time to go away, I have to gently masage it to try and disperse the blood....
and she will be spoken to, which will be good for anyone else.... it has caused me some problems cant do my cards for long :-( :-( :-( and using my die cutting machine is a no no, cant turn the handle :-( :-( :-( I can however manage to lift a cup or glass, and eat chocolate ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
can I suggest when you send the flowers, can you get me carnations any others die quickly..... thank you....

love Jean xx <3

Oooh Jean,
Shall I send my boys round to sort that Dracular woman out. I do feel for you my love, your arm must be very sore.
But I am pleased that it's not so badly affecting your lifting capabilities, where tea and chocolate are concerned.
The card making will have to go on the back burner for now honey.
Anyway, you will need all your strength to open your pressies on Christmas morning.
Darn it, I was going to send you Dandelions not Carnations lol ;-) ;-) ;-)
Take it easy my love. Love to you and J. Mo xxx

Huia Report 15 Dec 2012 21:03

Good evening ladies.

Last night I went to a concert at the Hospice. It was to celebrate 30 years since the Hospice was built there. Tina Cross, a well known (at least in NZ) singer was the main performer. She is a lovely person, and I have had my photo taken with her, but havent seen any of the photos yet. :-( She finished up with Feliz Navidad which we joined in singing and some of the audience got up and started dancing around the place. I was photographing them when the Chairman of the Trustees board came up to 'my angel' as he kept calling me (I was wearing white and had my halo and wings on) and asked me to dance. At the end he kissed my hand. Quite a night!

I am currently driving a loan car as the clutch gave out on my own last Wednesday. The garage to which it was piggy-backed will be fixing it tomorrow, I hope.

Huia, thank you for your Christmas card. I hope that your car has now been fixed.

So, where is everybody? Finishing the Christmas shop. I am finished now, all presents wrapped and ready to transport to Hampshire. Sent and received almost all my cards as well and the lounge looks very Christmassy with them all up.

Not seen Jean on here for a couple of days. Hope you are ok Jean and the arm isn't still giving you gyp. :-) <3
