Jean :-D :-D :-D
Well girls, we went to a new store (opened yesterday) this morning. It was crowded and we couldn't get in the car park but luckily the car park is a sort of extension to sainsburys car park so we parked there. We did go in to Sainsburys for coffee and to buy papers and magazines so felt we had paid for their car park.
I expect you have seen my thread about the store but it is called Wholefood Market and had the most beautifully fresh fruit and veg, lovely meat, fish and shell fish, bread, cold meats, cheeses, jams, delecatessen and health foods etc. Many of the items are sourced locally or have not come from too far away. And they pack it for you in brown paper carrier bags.
It is not cheap by any means but you get what you pay for. We went go there every week but maybe once a month when we want to treat ourselves. People were spending loads of money so they should do well. It is in Cheltenham which is a little more affluent on the whole than Gloucester.
my OH has been a busy bee this afternoon, washed off my car, well he made it dirty!, cut the lawn... for the last time this year I hope. Had a go at cleaning the top of the conservatory which has moss stuck to it dropped by birds. He got some of it off but it wasn't very successful really. In the summer we can't see it as the blinds are drawn across underneath but we draw them back in the winter to let in the light. It still looks a bit mucky.
And since we got back from the Wholefoods store I have made a birthday card and messed about on here reading threads while trying to organise the greaders threads and books to read this time. Still waiting on that before we can vote so will probably now go and make another birthday card.

Hello girls, Oooh I have been sooo lazy today. I didn't wake up till 9 a.m, and fell asleep in my armchair at 12.30. for an hour. Had to have my pneumonia injection yesterday, and boy is my arm sore today. There was Roly and my friends telling me that they didn't suffer after they had theres done, but the nurse did say my arm would be sore. When I had my flu jab, I did suffer a few symptoms, but not a sore arm like this, it feels very much like I have been punched in it.
That new shop sounds interesting Ann, as you say, if you go once every so often, the novelty wont wear off to quickly, plus the cost of it wont break the purse strings.
Jean, Roly's blue badge is up for renewal next year. Fortunately it's not far to go for the assessment. But if they dont renew it, he will be in a right pickle as he cant walk very far. He is arthritus in his knees and back is getting really bad. Poor little sausage, he creeks and squeeks when he walks ,and when he tries to get up from the chair it's a real effort.
Love to you all, Mo xxx

Hi Friends, I hope you are feeling a little happier after our sad news about Caz .It is comforting to know her suffering is over. It is a nice day here to-day ,I went to my grandaughters school yesterday they had Grandparents Day EMILY DID A PAINTING OF ME LAST WEEK FOR THE ART SHOW AT SCHOOL. It was a good likeness it was framed and cost me $20 to buy, they were having a fund raiser so that they can build a new Sandpit for the younger children.
It was a great morning the children performed with a speaking poem then a drumming group which was very good ,then the school Choir sang I enjoyed it they were very nice. I had my little Choir to-day they are improving they are starting to get their music brain working, we are now doing part singing.
I am always very tired after they have finished but always very satisfied with their work. A little reminder .Sunday 11th Rememberence Day RIP Love to you all <3 Marie

Hi Mo
and everyone
well, OH is now in China, teaching some workshops.
The weather has turned cold here ........ lovely and sunny, but cold ........ so I have been wrapping up when I've gone out. I have to ride the buses, and you all know what it is like waiting for them!
sis-i-l has been released from hospital, but has to stay in that town until Monday as they are waiting for the pathology reports to come back. Her daughter drove over from their home town on Wednesday, and will take sis-i-l home. They are staying in a hotel. The doc is very pleased with the progress she has made.
We're all still keeping our fingers crossed of course.

Hello Girls, hope you are all OK, as it's very quiet and lonely on here.
Mo, I hope that everything is alright with you, and that you and your partner won at darts last night.
Sylvia, I hope that all is going well for your sister-in-law and that the lab results are good for her.
Marie, glad to know that everything is alright for you and your family.
Jean, glad to know that you are feeling better and are able to get some birthday cards made.
Huia, is your avatar the photo of you in your angel outfit?
Both Sheila and I went to Caz's funeral yesterday and were made to feel very welcome by both Philip, Caz's sister and a couple of other people, although I don't know who they were as they didn't introduce themselves to us, although they seemed to know who Sheila and I were.
I am so glad that both of us were able to attend and I know that Philip and members of the family were pleased that Sheila and I had travelled a good distance to be there to represent all of Caz's friends on GR.
As Sheila as said on the other thread, the flowers that Joyce sent on our behalf were lovely, carnations and some roses in shades of pink and white.
We all walked in to John Denver's Annie's Song....one of my favourite songs and a Lionel Richie song was also played but I'm sorry I can't think of the title.
Sheila and I said our final goodbye to Caz, from all her friends on here.
Well girls I'm ready for bed now, so will speak to you all again soon.
Take care.
Love, Sallie.xx

Hi Mo xx
and everyone xx
Mo ----- hope you are all right xxx
I had physio today (Tuesday) ................ and always manage to be out almost the whole day!!
It was grey, dreary and drizzly all day, but a bit warmer than it was last week
I had literally just walked in the door late this afternoon when the phone rang .................. sis-i-l
She got home late on Monday afternoon, after a snowy drive from the hospital town to her home town. She said her daughter drove very well .................... but it was very slushy, so a little hairy driving.
She sees her GP's locum tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, just to meet her . Her GP has actually left town for a 2 month holiday in another country.
She has not yet got the results ................. it often takes 10-14 days. But she is feeling well, and eating well although in small amounts.
take care everyone
s xx
I remember when her husband died .................... there were continual knocks on the front door ............... another casserole or chops or something that "just needs re-heating"

Sallie, that is part of my angel outfit. I now have bigger wings, and I have a halo to wear. The shave has been put off until Friday as the events manager couldnt find a hairdresser to do it, but one of the ladies who works in our shop says she used to be a hairdresser, so she will do it on Friday at midday (11pm Thursday I think, in England). I am getting close to my target of fund-raising.

Sallie, many thanks to you and Shiela for making such a long journey, you both did us proud, and I for one am very grateful, its good to see that we had someone at the funeral......
At our home we are all stricken with heavy colds or in my case a bad chest, I cant remember the last time I had a cold, so no more trips out for me.... at least I can continue with the crafting,
Mo pm sent.

Hello to everyone, I have just dived in for a very short visit .
We have been having good weather a little bit windy but nice to be in the garden.
I have been working in the garden constantly for the past few weeks, such a lot needs doing, I have been pruning also removing some plants that are trying to take over. I am also repairing the damage that the constant rain we had earlier did to my vegetable garden,I dug it up and let it lay for a couple of weeks ,then to-day I covered it with Dolomite & Lime then covered it with cow manure, if I get time to-morrow I will dig it in. I have a few Lettuce in also 2 Tomato plants. My Bottle brush is flowering they are lovely, my Azalers are almost finished they were beautiful this year. Kathleen Brian and I spent all weekend cleaning out our ponds , we have a large one and a small one, The big pond took a long time to drain then we had to try and scoop out all the sludge in the bottom what a yukky job ,we all needed showers when that was finished, we managed to get the large pond finished by Sunday evening late, on Monday we did the small pond. You should have seen us trying to catch the fish there was mud and fish flying everywhere. what a big Job we shouldn't have to do it again for a few years thank goodness. I swear I could smell the mud and slush under my nails for hours even though I had scrubbed them and then cut the nails
Hi Sylvia it was nice to see your post.I hope the results are what your S-i-l is hoping for.Our Friend and neighbor has been clear for 5 years but recently she came out in a rash and it is cancer ,so she is back on the drugs it is so sad it does not look good, we are trying to do all we can to support her.
My sis- in -law is having chemo and will be for some time she is also on the drug Herceptin given through the Portacath in her chest ,then some time next year she will have Radium. What the patients with Cancer go through is so painful, they need all the Love, help and support from friends family and the medical profession that we can give.
Huia I love your Hospice Angel outfit good work I hope you have managed to get lots of donations. Hi Sallie I hope every thing is well with you. thank you to yourself and Shelia for being at the funeral to farewell Our Caz. How lovely to have John Denver's song " Annie" at the funeral. I am also a fan of his I have taught my singing class to do " Perhaps Love " in 2 parts. and it sounds so Lovely
Hi Mo,I hope you won at darts.old girl ;-)LOL. I am going to the Hunter Valley next week for 3 days on a bus tour with friends . The Hunter Valley is a prime wine making and grape growing area, it also has a most beautiful garden it is very large it will be the first time I have visited it. Marie, how lovely to see you on the thread.
I don't envy you the pond cleaning job, I could smell it from here yuk! :-D I hope you managed to retrieve all the fish.
Yes, the treatment for cancer is gruelling and sometimes you wonder if the treatment is worse than the disease. Worthwhile I am sure if it gives extra years to somebody but often it doesn't seem to. I hope your neighbour's cancer can be treated and maybe cured again, or at least I hope the treatment will put her into remission. Is it skin cancer?
I hope that you enjoy your bus trip, it sounds nice and please have a couple of glasses for us!! Cheers :-D

What lovely songs Joyce, thank you. The words to it's time to say goodbye are:
When I'm alone I dream of the horizon and words fail me. There is no light in a room where there is no sun and there is no sun if you're not here with me, with me. From every window unfurls my heart the heart that you have won. Into me you've poured the light, the light that you found by the side of the road.
Time to say goodbye. Places that I've never seen or experienced with you. Now I shall, I'll sail with you upon ships across the seas, seas that exist no more, it's time to say goodbye.
When you're far away I dream of the horizon and words fail me. And of course I know that you're with me, with me. You, my moon, you are with me. My sun, you're here with me with me, with me, with me.
Time to say goodbye. Places that I've never seen or experienced with you. Now I shall, I'll sail with you upon ships across the seas, seas that exist no more,
I'll revive them with you. I'll go with you upon ships across the seas, seas that exist no more, I'll revive them with you. I'll go with you.
You and me.

Ann, I got mine of a American site, cheaper than in the u.k but it took three weeks to come, there are some on e-bay its a Spellbinders die, cherry lynn does one to but its a larger trellis and its quite dear, you can also buy off e-bay, ready cut ones so you wont need a die...I have just cut some more to send to Dutch, and I have just done card in pink with black lattice on very pleasing but havent taken a pic yet will do it tomorrow.... glad she liked the card......
