Yesterday I took my computer to town to get my new antivirus thing installed as I cant do it on dialup. I also asked them to update a couple of other things that keep telling me to update. When I got home I found I couldnt dial up my ISP. It came up with error 680, no dial tone. I rang my providers and I was taken through the process of deleting the dial up and reinstalling it, but still I got the error. I rang them a couple more times and the last time it was suggested that it might be my phone modem, so I rang the people who did the installing. I wondered if it might have put a block on my ISP. He offered to open up tomorrow but I said I could wait until Saturday if they were open then. I was told to ring him tomorrow anyway.
After dinner and watching Coro St I had another look, pushing all the plugs in as far as they would go and still it didnt work. I found another cord the same and decided to try it and eureka, it worked, so I must have damaged the first cord somehow. I was a bit depressed at the thought that I might not be able to get on the internet over Easter.
Off to look at a couple of other threads, then head to bed.

Hello everyone, Sylvia, can you please some of the rain showers over here, today we have started a hose pipe ban in most areas of the country. I suppose we are lucky, in as much as with Roly having the disabled Blue badge, he is able to use the hosepipe. But it's normally me that waters the garden, so I shall have to get the whip out,and get him to do it for us. I'm afraid he just does not have green fingers, and hates gardening at the best of times. lol How did the physio go for you? has she got you doing the same excercises as you had to do following your op, or has she been a she devil, and increased them for you.
Thank goodness you were able to sort your connection out Huia. It's surprising how we come to rely on our computers,as a lifeline to the outside world isn't it. Are any of your family coming to you for the Easter period?
I am being a little scamp tonight. I am of to the dogs with my friends from the Thursday night dart team. We are having a meal, and then watching the lovely greyhounds racing. I may spend a few coppers on a small bet, but then again, I might spend a lot more ;-) It's turned sooo cold here today, that I am sitting here with the gas fire on,something I have not had to do for a wee while.
Fingers crossed for Caz, who has been for her xrays today. Lets hope she has had a good result......Thinking of you Caz.
Has anyone heard from Joyce lately?
Sallie thank you for the Easter card, it arrived in todays post. I have been rather remiss this year, and not sent any. I hope you are feeling a little better now, and that the old black dog has bu**ered of and left you alone love.
Sending (HUGS) to our Jean, thin king of you sweetie.
Ann are you and T at home for Easter? or are you going to the family.
I must away now girls, take care, love and hugs to you all. Mo xxx

Hello girls, must have missed coming on yesterday. I didn't have the x-ray as the doctor said my ankle is a bit messy from the other x-ray I had. It's the combination of the break and the cancer in it and she said it will never be right and always hurt but nothing I can do. Oh well, just another thing to put up with. Sylvia we had a bit of snow here the other day, it looked lovely all white, especially up on the moors but I'm glad it's gone now. Sally got your card this morning , thank you, I haven't sent any, I don't know why but never do. Take care everyone.
Love Carole xx

Sallie, thank you for your card which arrived today.
Caz, let's hope they are wrong and that the pain will ease for you. A damp chilly day here today but we did manage a trip to Dunelm and the range this morning, didn't want to stay in as there isn't anywhere to go tomorrow as all the shops will be shut and the garden centres.

Oh Caz, I am sorry there is not a lot they can do for your ankle love. Lifes never easy is it, what with one thing and another. Thank goodness your snow has gone, brrr nasty horrid white stuff gets on my pip.
I am lucky Ann, we will be going up to our local club for a game of darts tomorrow, and meet our friends. Otherwise it would be such a long day stuck in the house. Monday we are due a lot of rain apparantly, so that would mean another day indoors.
Today we have seen both our youngest grandaughter and great grandaughter. My word our G.Grandaughter has grown so much since we last saw her, I can't believe she will be 1 next month, and Lilly is now 15 months old, the time seems to have flown by.
Not a lot of news to tell you about I'm afraid, what a boring life I lead lol. Take care everyone. Love Mo xxx

We have been promised rain for the past week but it still hasnt come (except in the Gisborne area where they had flooding). Now it is supposed to be coming in a couple of days. In the meantime it is a beautiful sunny day, not too many clouds in the sky, although looking oujt the window there are a couple moving very steadily from the south. I have never seen them move that fast. Must be quite a jet stream up there.
I will be doing a bit more carpentry today. I did a little yesterday, enlarging a hole in the side of a bookcase so I could pass an electric plug through it. First though, I have to finish reading My Threads.

Happy Easter everyone
Hope you all had a good time.
We had toasted Hot Cross Buns for lunch, and will have roast beef for dinner, with home-grown leeks from the garden :-D
OH sows leek seed in the early summer in one small area of the veggie patch, and just leaves them alone, doesn't thin or anything. Then he transplants them in about September when everything else has finished. Then he leaves them alone over the winter.
We start to pick them in about February ........... they're thin and tender, and sooooooooooooo good!

Hi girls, It sounds like our Sylvia and Huia have got our share of the good weather. It's another wet miserable day yet again today. I had to go and see my grandaughter today. One of the older ones. For her to sort out my laptop. You remember my telling you that I had to put it in for repairs. Weeell, when I got it back, they had changed all my settings, and lost all my photo's. I was really and truly peed off. Roly said "Right it's going back for them to find them again" ahem, no said I, not till I make sure that I am not wrong and they are hidden else where. I seached every possible place I could think off, to no avail. So down I go and see Sasha....cor shes a clever little thing. After much searching, she found them, and reloaded them all in chronological order for me. Now when I had downloaded them originally, they were just willy nilly everywhere. I thought I had lost all my photo's of you all, and was sooo down hearted, :-( but not any more, yippee, I can look at you all when I have spoken to you, and know who the heck I have spoken to. lol Oh how I wish I had been taught how to use this laptop, as I feel such a narna having to ask the young ones what I should be doing.
Sylv's we had hot cross buns last Friday, as it was good friday, also we had fish. This is a custom that my parents started with us as children, and has now been carried on by our own children. I wish I was able to eat Leeks, but anything that is oinion based, is a definate no no as far as I am concerned. My IBS wont allow for me to eat them.
Huia, have you still got all your fingers and thumbs after your carpentry jobs. When we made a hole for our T.V cable to go through the side of our unit, we took the plug off, and then threaded it through. Thank goodness they did teach me how to do that in school. lol
Well girls, it's cold roast beef, jacket spuds and beans for dinner tonight, so I will have to go and wash the spuds ready to go in the oven. Hope to be back later to speak to you. Love Mo xxx When will you be seeing young MJ next?

Hi Mo
and everyone
another lovely sunny day here.
Mo ......
.................. we have fish on Good Friday, I can remember Mum and Dad always going out on Good Friday morning to the fishmonger to buy the freshest fish they could. He opened until about noon, and then shut for the rest of the day, but had a delivery of fresh caught fish from the coast at around 6 or 7 am..
But, for some reason my family always had Hot Cross Buns on Easter Sunday for breakfast. And that is the tradition we've carried on since we got married. OH never said a word when I suggested it on our second Easter together.
The first Easter we were married was in the US (Texas) ................ and we couldn't find any Hot Cross buns, and couldn't find a recipe to make them.
How glad we were when we found that every bakery in town, even in the supermarkets, had them up here :-D :-D
I just wish they would stop selling them as early as February!
take care

Hello everybody.
Mo, I cant eat onions either, it is a case of 'dont anybody go to the loo, I will want it soon' so perhaps I also have IBS.
Yes, I still have all my fingers and thumbs. I am very wary when using the circular saw as my dad lost one and a half fingers on his and Phil lost the tip of one finger early on with his circ saw. I take the cordless phone downstairs with me when using it just in case I need to make an emergency call.
I havent drilled the hole yet. Unfortunately the plug I want to put through is a sealed one, cannot be unscrewed. :-|
I buy chocolate hot cross buns these days. They are yummy. I buy lots and freeze them then when I am going out for the day I take one with me for my lunch, plus a slice of cheese and a banana. I only occasionally buy my lunch in town. The advantage of taking my own is that I can stop and eat it whenever and wherever I want.
I have installed some of my photos for my wallpaper or whatever the startup page is called. They change every 15 mins. There is one of a gorgeous sunset (a bit lurid on the screen!) and another of the Hunua Falls in flood with a rainbow in the spray, you can see every drop of water, then there is one of heavy stormclouds over a sunlit paddock, and a pink sunrise (or it could be the sunset) in the east from here, and the last one is one of our native passion flowers, close up. You can see all the grains of pollen. The flower is much smaller than the edible sort.
My photos that have been installed on this new computer are in a different sort of folder from before. I dont like it so will have to try some time to get things back the way they were, but it wont be this week as I have lots of other things to do.
Huia.

Hi girls, Welcome Lorraine, you will find us all a lovely friendly bunch of people, so pop in and see us whenever you feel like it.
I am sorry I didn't get back to speak to you last night, but my daughter phoned me,and asked if I would like to go to bingo with her. Now why would I say no, to a good night out with her, just the two of us for a change. And no, we didn't win worse luck, but I couldn't believe how busy it was there. People must have been really bored, with it being a bank holiday weekend, and decided to get out for a while.
Sylvia, our fish mongers was not open on good friday, but then I think that over the years rules on opening times have changed, and if people want fresh fish they buy it the day before.( so not so fresh after all.) We love it when we go to a seaside resort where the fish is soooo fresh, and have fish and chips for dinner, coooo yummy. Our local chippies fish does not taste the same.
Oh for goodness sake Linda, that flippin Veritgo is back again. Our Jean suffered with it terribly as well. The E.N.T specialist might be a very good idea, to get you sorted out once and for all, as you can't go on suffering like this. It was not that long ago, when you were suffering with it before. I hope you feel better soon my love.
Huia, I have never heard of chocolate hot cross buns before. What a shame about the plug being a sealed one, it would have saved you a lot of messing about, if you could have just taken it of and shoved it through the hole. You just be very careful with that circular saw. I am just wondering how you would dial for help, if you cut both your hands off. NO dont do it honey. PLEASE,just take care of yourself.
We have just received the reminder about the car road tax renewal. The letter said £210.00 for the year. Roly phoned them to renew it, and guess what, it's only gone up by another five pounds. I do wish they would update their paperwork, before they send out reminders. The same thing happened last year for us, and it's a darned nuisance. The knowledge that it is over £200.00 was bad enough, but to find out about the increase on the same day as the reminder, is a bitter pill to have to swallow. Still, we need the car, so it has to be paid for, by hook or by crook.
I hope to come back later this evening, so hopefully I will speak to you then. Love Mo xxx

No volunteers for the housework I see Puss. Mind you, it's bad enough trying to keep with up with this tip at times. No one would believe there are only the two of us left at home now. Roly makes more mess than all my five kids did when they were little, lol My hobbies these days are my darts, reading and the occasional bit of knitting. I used to love my line dancing, but as the arthritus got worse, I had to give it up, but I can get my legs moving, when I hear a bit of music, and show the grandchildren up dancing. ( no not dad dancing, but gran dancing) ;-)
No news lately from Ann,Joyce, Caz, Marie and it's been a few days since we heard from our Sallie, I hope everyone is o.k. Love to all Mo xxx

Hi girls, I have no news as usual, but I will say hello, and welcome Puss, nice to see you on here. Come to think of it, it is a long time since we heard from Marie, hope she is ok. I was speaking to Joyce this morning and she is ok but finding it hard getting around with her poor legs. Talking about legs, I was up during the night for painkillers for my ankle, the pain is going up my leg now so I might go back and have it checked, most likely won't as they told me it would hurt for about a year, lovely, why do these things always happen to me. My hobbies were birdwatching and walking, can't do either now, the others are cardmaking and jigsaws although I haven't done one for ages, might have to get one out. My tea is out now so see you later.
Caz xx
