Hi To you all, I am pleased to see that you all had a nice Xmas.It has been awhile since I posted thank you all for thinking of me.
I dont have anything much to report ,weather wise it is warming up very Quickly the night's are ok for sleeping which is very nice
The grand children had a lovely Xmas it was rather quiet for all the adults. We have been working flat out trying to get most of the work done on Brian's and Kathleen's House how ever there is a lot to be done I cant see it all being finished by February.
I have been busy in the garden.I had a bad fall at the weekend , I tripped over a cement pot and came a cropper my left wrist and my right knee hit the cement floor in my graden shed, I had almost finished for the day ,I am very lucky that I have strong bones, I thought I may have broken a bone in my wrist, I had a lump the side of a golf ball and it has been so swollen that you could not see the veins on the top of my hand, now everything is black and still painful, the swelling on top of the hand has gone down. thank goodness.
I will close wishing you the best of health and Happiness for 2012 we could do with a good year for 2012 love to you all ,Marie from OZ <3

Hello Girls,
Marie it's nice to hear from you. Sorry that you had a nasty fall at the weekend, hope that all swelling will soon go down. It seems pretty quiet everywhere, especially on the message boards. Here it's very quiet in the shops too, it looks to me as though people are not buying things as perhaps the shops had hoped they would. Maybe it's just in this area, I don't know.
Alun, myself and Jennie went to Chesterfield yesterday afternoon, it's many years since we went there so it's changed a bit and for the better as far as we can remember. We enjoyed a couple of hours there even though it was windy, cold and at times very wet...but that seemed the norm for most, if not all the UK yesterday.
Sylvia and Huia, hope all is well with the both of you and your families.
Ann, thinking of your daughter and of course you and all the family. Keeping my fingers and toes firmly crossed that the news will be good.

Speak to you all later.

Well mixed news really, good and frustrating (because nobody likes waiting in these circumstances). This is what daughter told us.
"The good news is that the tumour was small as they thought from the scan and they were able to completely remove it with a clear margin. So that means they do not need to do any further surgery.
Also of the 14 nodes removed only the first (or “sentinel”) node had any cancer cells. The others were all clear which is good.
The nurse checked the scar and said it is healing well, and the swelling is as we thought normal fluid retention. As long as it doesn’t get any bigger she recommended leaving it to reabsorb on it’s own which it should do over the next few weeks.
The next step is an appointment with the Oncologist which will probably be in 2 weeks to talk through the benefits and risks of Chemo specifically in relation to my type of disease and age, and decide if I want to have Chemo, or just the Radiotherapy. So more waiting, and a difficult decision ahead."
She has also since said it is frustrating because she thinks they could have set up the appointment with the oncologist for next week not saying it would be about 2 weeks which means the appointment has not even been made.
Anyway, keep on with the thoughts please as they do seem to be working, good news that the cancer was only in the one node. :-)

Ann, glad to hear that it is mainly good news, but as you say it's now the waiting to find out where they go from here......not easy for you all, especially your daughter. I will still be thinking about her over the next couple of weeks and hoping for a good and positive outcome.
Will speak to you all later.
Sending lots of hugs and positive thoughts to Ann's daughter.

Hello my lovely friends.
Ann, thank the lord your daughter has had a good result. We must now keep up the chain of healing for her, and keep her in our prayers. OOOOOOOOO Healing thoughts for Ann's daughter, with love.OOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Marie, will you please slow down girl. I know you feel you must do these things, but take care of yourself first, I don't like hearing you have hurt yourself. You were oh so lucky not to have broken a bone my love, and then where would the family be without your support. I am sorry I dont mean to nag at you, but it's because I care that I do it.
Here in Kent we are still suffering from the high winds, and heavy rain at times. What a wonderful start to our New Year, but hey, we may get a descent summer this year. Tut tut, who am I kidding, we know what our weather is like don't we, a few nice days in April, and wham our summer is over.lol ;-)
I do hope that everyone is well, and bearing up. I send my very best wishes and love to you all. Mo xxx

I drove down to Hamilton today with the other gt grandmother. Took lots of photos, some of other gg holding him, some of my son holding him (he was visiting too) some of granddaughter holding her son, and my son took some of we two greats and our granddaughter and her son. My son took lots on his camera including some of me holding baby, but I havent seen them yet. I have put my photos on the computer, and cropped some and lightened them as I didnt use a flash and it was a little dark indoors.
I should sleep tonight as I was ready to fall asleep just after dinner, so I will see you all some other time.
Huia.

Just had a message from daughter to say she has an appointment on Monday with her Oncologist. First he phoned from one hospital to say attend Tuesday for R therapy planning. When she told him she had been told two weeks to decide RT or chemo, he gave her an appointment at the other hospital to discuss it, but she felt he seemed to think it would be RT she opted for. Very confusing but her appointment is 3.40 so goodness knows how late he will be running then.

Jean lovely to hear from you, albeit a short message.lol!! I had the same problem earlier in the week, I had written a long message to you all and just before I had finihed it it just disappeared, and I hadn't done anything or touched anything for that to happen.
Hope you and your family are all well. Hope daughter didn't have too much trouble travelling to work in all the bad weather during the last few days, as I know she has to travel over the Pennines.
Are you still busy making cards? I seem to have lost interest at the moment, but I'm sure once I start again I won't want to stop.lol!!
Huia, I'm sure you felt so proud holding your gt,granddaughter for the first time. It was good that your son was there the same time so that he could take a lot of photos of you all and especially some of just you holding the baby. I'm also sure it was nice to see him too.
Mo, where are you? Did you have darts match last night? If you did, I hope you and your team won.
Ann, how are you and T today? Hope you are both alright. Thinking about you all.
Sending lots of hugs and positive thoughts to your daughter. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Hello to Linda, Caz, Sylvia, Marie and the rest of our friend on the thread. Hope you are all ok.

Ann
I actually was told I had an appointment with a radiologist before I'd got the result from the surgeon ...... but that was because she was so busy that I had to wait for the "2 week" appointment until 5 weeks
Her office had however gone ahead and made the radiologist's appointment immediately they got the path report , and it turned out to be for 6 weeks after the op
When we did meet with him, the decision had been made by him that radiology was the option to discuss ............ chemo was not on the scene, because there was no evidence of cancer cells having gone past the sentinel node.
In these cases, here in Canada, the theory seems to be to use the least damaging treatment as a precautionary measure, and to make sure that any single cells that might be in the breast are killed.
Radiology is by far the "easiest" treatment to have ............ and does the minimum amount of damage to the body.
The only real downside is that radiology can not be given a second time to the same area.
So, the fact that HE seems to have decided on radiology is actually very good news.

Hi everyone xxx
Huia ... what a lovely day for you!
OH's cousin died on Tuesday, not unexpected but rather sooner than we'd expected or hoped.
He will be going back to England for her funeral on Jan 17. He leaves here on Jan 12, and will return on Jan 19. He will be staying with cousin's husband. They had 2 children, both around 30, and were a close family, but both children live elsewhere in the area, the son is married with 2 children. So OH will be a bit of company and comfort for B ......... and possibly/probably a good "ear".
I'm not going with him .............. I honestly could not take what I know is an uncomfortable flight with less than week to recover before the return trip.
s xx

Thanks Sallie and thanks sylvia for that info, very helpful to know. I really hope that he does recommend RT not chemo but ultimately he seemed to suggest it would be up to her.
