Morning Lizzie and all, It is so long ago I had an interview I can't remember when it was.I think you are brave,as I don't think I could do it now.Do let us know the outcome. It was so warm when I was out with the dog I had to get back and sit by the fan! I'm still there,it is lovely lol. Off to visit a friend who has just had Major Surgery. She hasn't been allowed visitors for a couple of weeks in case she picked up an infection or swine flu. BBL

Morning ladies, have had a busy couple of days especially yesterday...how strange that you mention interviews as I had one yesterday and have been offered the job! It's basically a permanent contract at the residential care home where I do relief work, it's a lovely place and only a ten minute drive for me. It's very rural and is run by our local county council. Well now i will have my six permanent night shifts a month, so can plan my life a bit better around the work. I'm a real light weight when i think how many shifts some of them do!
Reading Lizzie's post I can totally relate to it re: the interview...I apologised if I came over a bit red (it was 2 women interviewing) and said sorry if i have to use my fan!! Hope you get good news regarding the interview Lizzie, you never know!
I seem to be having a few problems getting on GR lately...get there in the end but it takes several goes!!
Pam.

Picked another big bowl of runners. They must be coming out our ears by now lol. I hope everyone is fine.

Great news Pam about your job so you can now work your own routines into your daily life. Been sorting out a few problems for dad spoke to the occupational therapist today and she is going to get a foot stool ,handles, and a small seat to go in the bath so hopefully that will encourage him to have a bath as at the moment he won't.
Ironing in my house is becoming a pain, just can't seem to empty the basket and since tiding up daughter no 2 bedroom , I am washing and ironing all the clothes as I don't know whats clean or not. OH shouted tea is almost ready will need to go and set table BBL

Morning All,
Glad you got the job Pam and its good you can plan your life around the job better. I used to do interviewing and used to feel sorry for some poor souls who got very nervous. Good preparation helps so you have some ready answers for when your mind goes blank!! lol
AB my sister has OA and found it helped a lot when she changed to an automatic car and one that she can sit high up in so she can see out of it without having to twist around too much. Might be worth trying one, although I know what you mean by keeping alert!! I find as speed limits keep dropping my mind wanders into the shop windows at the roadside if I'm not careful!!

Morning all, lovely day here, just waiting for daughter no 1 to come OH has gone to fetch her as she is trying to cut down on driving almost only 2 weeks to the babies due date and she feels not as alert as she used to be as she is continually feeling tired, she's going to try and stick to just driving to see the midwife and back herself. well I'll take my coffee into the garden and make the best of this sunshine before it disappears again. Hello ladies
Hope you're all keeping ok today, lovely and sunny here in deepest Nofrolk.
Fiona, those bath seats are exellent, hope your dad decids to have one. They make elderly people feel a lot more safe and secure in the bath...stating the obvious I know, but they are good.
Runner beans....oh lovely! We're eating loads too, although we don't grow them ourselves a chap up the road does and we buy them from him. Actually we don't eat much ready prepared veggies in the summer as so many little places around here sell vegetables, eggs etc. and have old tables outside with the tin to put your money in, self service in the country has been going on for years!
Automatics are great if you've aches and pains and your mobility is slightly dodgey at times, just stop and go...brilliant!
Back later I expect, have a safe day everyone.
Pam.

Congratulations and well done Lizzie!! :○)) Isn't it funny when you go for these interviews...you think to yourself (well I did) I don't stand a chance as i did this wrong or shouldn't have said that etc. but just be yourself and hey presto you got it!!
Time for a moan about men now....
Hubby and me are away for a ten days on or around the 7th September, told them at my new job and they are fine about it. We both decided on Menorca as it's a nice little island that we've been to many times on our own and when the kids where young...not a problem you'd think...we look it up on teletext holidays, hotel we like (all inclusive is available) on the said date...so all going ok...then hubby decides just to have a 'look' on the net at other places...he spent ALL BLOODY EVENING poncing about on the internet las tnight!!! Then it's too bloody late to book it!! Just hope it's still available, why do some people make life so f*****g difficult! ARGH!
Right I must calm down...I was so annoyed I had to sleep in the spare bed!!
Is it me?
Back later after a bucket of valium!! ha ha

Too wet to be in the garden today and it seems we all are having a tough time with men . OH moaning cause it's the last day of his holidays and it's pouring down with rain and he can't go for his morning bike ride. so I dragged him round the shops this morning looking for storage ideas for daughter no 2 bedroom. I got a real bargain and bought 8 baskets they should have been £8 each , they were down to £4 and when I took them to the till the woman said they were reduced for today only to £2 , brilliant and they just are right for putting on her shelves in the bedroom for hair accsesories, toiletries etc. (bought at In Store)

Evening girls,
Peace reigns once again in our household....the holiday has been booked, it's Menorca as first agreed and the hotel that we both decided on in the first place, bang goes the weight lose as it's all inclusive (we've paid for it so we'll eat our own body weight!) We fly from Luton on the 8th September and return on the 18th..........................and relax. Until next years holiday!
Yes Jane I did sleep well actually!
Lizzie I know what you mean, my hubby is just the same, we'll agree to get something sorted later...and then bloody Top Gear comes on and I've lost him!!

Isn't it good to have a good old moan about our OH's!!!!!!!!!!! I do love him ,but my goodness does he drive me bonkers sometime.I know he has a stressful job especially at the moment. But as I said before ,I say nothing and wait for him to come out of his mood .It is second nature now after nearly 30 years.
I had the empty nest syndrome once.............they are both home!!!!!!! I am really looking forward to having an empty nest again. Not that I don't love my kids, but sometimes I just think how nice it would be ,just to be the two of us,for a few weeks at least lol

Afternoon ladies
Phew still very warm here in Norfolk.
Went up for a walk along the beach this morning, I haven't done that in ages it was wonderful! So hopefully may sleep better tonight. I'm always banging on about how lucky we are to live near to the coast and of late haven't been up there...so thought sod it the jobs are done ie shopping etc I'll go up there. The number of people just like myself strolling along surprised me actually...it wasn't heaving. but I said good morning to atleast a dozen people. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Hope everyone's well and having good day, speak later I expect.
Pam.

Warm here too now.the sun is coming out ,but boy is it windy. Pam I so miss walking on the beach.I think I have said many a time how much I miss the sea.I think it takes about 2 hours or so to get to the sea from here. The thought of spending that amount of time to get to the coast!!!!!!!!!,just for a couple of hours . Am looking forward to Dorset in a few weeks.I shall enjoy the coast then.Just the air and the smell of the sea, ooooh I can't wait lol

Afternoon all Our housing estate was built in garden nursery grounds back in the 1960's and there are a lot of well established trees in each households garden, Weeping willow's ,silver birch and a lot of fir trees and today just like you Jane we have a lot of wind and wow!!! watch them bend and swish. It was raining very heavily this morning but is sunny now yet with the high winds are keeping it cool.
Had a busy day today, had to call the emergency gas service out to dad's house to come and find a gas leak. last Wed the woman who came to visit dad and arrange the bath items said she could smell gas. we are used to the musty smells in dads house and we have turned off the gas to the cooker a couple of years ago, though the fire is still usable so OH tried to see where the gas was coming from but we could not smell any. anyway we phoned them to come this morning and the engineer has found just a trace of gas in the connection pipes that run from the main road into dad's house , he said that the pipes are very old and rusty so the man has left a big hole in the middle of the drive way and left barriers round it and will be back tomorrow to dig the road up and lay a new pipe into dad's house through the garage. you can imagine what dad is like he keeps saying over & over again whats the hole for Grrrrrrr!
