Hello ladies,
I haven't posted before and haven't read all your 120+ pages but I know what you're going through. I'm 47 and have taken to keeping spare nightware under my pillow.
I thought you might like to hear about a friend of mine who would get through her hot nights by sitting in the garden in her nighty, it was fairly secluded so all was fine, until one night... when the local police helicopter came over... with it's heat seeking equipment!!! Knowing she would stand out like a beacon she scurried indoors and spent the next hour worring about what to tell the policemen when they came hammering on her door searching for criminals. Thankfully they never did come but needless to say her nights in the garden have ceased!
Personally I just think about all the calories I must be burning to produce all that heat.

Morning ladies, oh dear, Woodpecker your poor friend...good idea though as our garden is very secluded!!

Went for a carvery yesterday evening with hubby and daughter and her boyfriend, felt quite tired and nearly didn't go but glad I did as it was lovely. Only £3.95 each...oh I'm getting mean. Is that an age thing as well do you think? They're all going on about going to charitty shops...I've been going to them for years! I don't need to now, but still watch the pennies, think it comes from years of being skint in the past!

Nice and sunny here and with a lovely light breeze....heaven.

Have a good day girls.

Pam.

Hi Woodpecker,It's good to see a new name here.
I too have sat out in my nightie or have laid on the floor next to the door where the air is cooler lol.If people could see us all they would really think we had lost the plot.I find my nightie on the floor most mornings (and It wasn't OH that took it off)

Oooh Pam ! hope your back feels better in the morning.I use those heat patches that you slap straight on the skin on my lower back sometimes and think they are brilliant.

Hi everyone
looks like were in for another warm day here a bit cloudy and very humid sun keeps popping in and out.
I have packed in drinking coffee while this weather is warm , it's just not helping the hot flushes at all, I now have a bottle of water with me every where I go, mind you I am haveing a few withdrawel symptoms, daughter no 2 says I should try a iced Mocha instead, I thing mochas are stronger than Latte, and I don't like strong coffee.

I'm supposed to be working tomorrow night...if this doesn't get any better i wont be! I've taken one of hubbys diclofenac tabs 50mg...will it make the pain go away Jane, you're the medical one? I know i shouldn't take his tablets but one wont hurt will it!!

Jane

Jane Report 25 Jun 2009 13:53

Hi Pam ,That is Voltarol isn't it.They are pretty strong ,but when I had them and took them for a number of days they made me feel ill.I hope they work for your poor old back.

Jane

Jane Report 25 Jun 2009 13:54

Deep Heat patches are brilliant Pam.I always keep some in the cupboard.

Fiona

Fiona Report 25 Jun 2009 14:17

I'll go along with Jane ,Deep heat patches are good and I sometimes use Iburofen Gel, that helps my back alot. better than Ralgex and doesn't give off a funny smell.
just had an hour under the brolly in the back garden but it's getting to warm for me to sit out
so I'm going for a shower and a change of clothes and an Ice cream cornet out of the freezer.
off to the day centre at 3.15 to pick dad up for the memory clinic at the hospital, there's been a big change since December when they last saw him.
Try & BB later.
