I took HRT from before age 50 and felt tons better. I could not have carried on working without it. I had no side effects and would have stayed on it for ever if the doctor had let me. The downside is that when you come off it, you have all the flushes etc, but I was retired by then so it was easier to cope with. As for weight, put it like this, I didn't lose any weight when I came off it!!!!! lol |

went with M.I.L. for wallpaper for her bedroom, put it in car and doors all locked themselves, leaving us standing in the snow, called daughter from phone in shop, our mobiles ,bags et al locked in car and decided to have a chinese buffet lunch while we waited for her to come with the spare key.She arrived as we left the restaurant, think we may never eat chinese food again it was so bad! Daughter lost the key to our house ,so no spare car key!! Got a lift home ,20 miles,to collect spare key and back to collect car. Day lost.Shops all closing ,so no curtains, duvet covers etc for ma in law.Need to go back out tomorrow ............joy. |

Horrible for you Patricia, I always worry about losing keys, thats why I carry the spare car key although I dont drive, in case OH loses his, or the battery runs out. You must have been exhausted by the time you finally got home. |

More irritated, we thought if we bought everything yesterday we could strip the wallpaper this morning and have it papered before tonight. The best laid plans! This means this afternoon its more shopping and we wont get started until tomorrow, that in turn means tomorrows plans postponed for another day and on it goes.Stillshe'll be delighted to see it decorated as it's been almost 5 years since it was done and it's looking a bit dated, also my late F.I.L. decorated it last and she really could do with a change to helpher move on, |

House Work Fairy, like to wave your wand over my house? I decided not to get in a tizz about jobs that needed done this year,I remember crying my eyes out while scrubbing the kitchen floor on hands and knees at 11.30pm one hogmanay ,all because we had run out of wallpaper with one strip still to go and it felt like an omen of bad luck for the new year to start the year that way.All my mothers fault of course! She cleaned and decorated for days before every new year ,windows were cleaned at the last minute ,windows and doors opened at 11.55 to "let in the year"and we could hear the ships horns on the clyde calling to each other. The first foot was put out of the house with a couple of minutes left of the year ,he had to be tall and dark,no blondies or redheads allowed and he was armed with the necessities of life, whisky, black bun, salt and a piece of coal. The whisky and bun for food and drink the salt for wealth and the coal for warmth. We try to carry on some of the old traditions but sometimes feel it's a lost cause as an awful lot of people just think of new year as a drink fest these days. SO ladies heres to health and wealth and happiness and lang may yer lum reek. |

In Scotland at that time Christmas wasn't a public holiday,Hogmanay was the big one .Steak Pie dinner served at midnight ,partying all night and up for mass at midday. My g/parents and gg/parents were all married on new years day ,first mass at 7.30am so they could start life together at the very start of the year. |
