We left Gatwick on 2/1/09 and it was raining at Bridgetown when we arrived but next morning it was nice and sunny when we went into the town. The cruise before us had terrible weather and lost about 4 days as they could not berth the ship due to the bad weather. The people in the Caribbean said that it had been `unseasonal` weather. As I said it does rain but does not last long. It gets alot hotter at sea so make sure that you slap on lots of lotion. I hope that you have a really great holiday and dont forget to let us know how it was when you get back.
Take some clothes that will let you `expand` because as Helen says the food goes on and on day and night. LOL.

Love and Peace
Marianne.

Just rang my sister and yes it's the same cruise. They prefer early sitting dinner and half day trips.Full day ones can be very tiring. Also if there are evening buffet things like the chocoholic evening ,if you have eaten earlier you have room in your tummy do do all the tastings lol. They fly from Birmingham.

Thanks Marianne

Ours has one formal evening (dinner with captain). The rest is smart casual, as I am let to believe.

I have been watching the weather for the past fortnight and it has been raining every day, or cloudy. Temperatures are averaging 26c at the moment, but I was concerned there wouldn't be much sun (I'd like to get a bit of a suntan just because I never go to hot climates). I have my suncream ready!

Hello Dee, we have been on 5 different cruises the last was January this year to the Caribbean. Although not with Thomson we go with P and O but I think that most of the cruise ships are much the same.
I am sure that you will have a fabulous time. We packed lots of shorts and tops as it was very nice and warm (80`s ) although sometimes the evenings get a bit cooler. Much to my surprise it did rain a couple of times but only lasted 10/20 mins max then the hot sun came out again. The last cruise was a little too formal in the evenings for my liking as it was dressy every evening and got a bit tiring. I hope that you have a great time and wish that I was going back again.

Love and Peace
Marianne. x

Hi all.

Over the past 25 years my husband and myself have always had our holidays in our mobile caravan in UK apart from perhaps a trip to Germany and a trip to disneyland Paris and a week in Spain.

It is our 25th wedding anniversary next month, so I thought it would be nice to do something special and different. So we saved our pennies and have booked a cruise in the Carribean on The Thompson Destiny.

We go on 29th March and are counting down the weeks now.

So, is there anyone out there who has been on a cruise? perhaps to the Carribean or even on The Thomson Destiny?

What was it like?

Do you have any tips for the holiday?

Do you have any advice for the trip?

Would love your comments.

Dee
