3 days to go....

Helen. Yes, I keep thinking of something else. I make lists, its easier for me.

George

Sadly, we are not going to Jamaica. But, how awful for the families who had the accident. (no risk assessments to be done in Jamaica then? lol).

Hope it didn't ruin your holiday!

I think you are getting excited now.My sister seems to have been shopping non stop.Just for an extra top ,or trousers,or cardi,or or or!!!!!
She has just got a comfy pair of trousers for travelling in.Nothing worse than sitting for 10 hours or so in uncomfortable clothing.

Sue
You can't go wrong with lists. I am list mad. Starting making them from Christmas.
Get the others to write their own and then you can pack it. When they haven't got what they wanted on holiday, they will only have themselves to blame. Give them a few pointers to think about....toiletries, Makeup (if applicable), medications, sun creams, trousers?, favourite tops etc etc (don't forget something nice to wear for Captains Dinner!). I want to get a healthy skin complexion (tan to us), but those showers have not gone away.

Helen

You have a point about not being a GR member, he couldn't complain and he knows me so well, I'll make conversation with anyone who likes to chat too! he he.

Well, we've had our first two jabs. Typhoid and Hepatitus A. OK, so far. or as far as jabs go.

Tetanus, Poio and Dypheria next week!

Checked with nurse and she says that you do need these jabs for the Carribean, however long you are going to be visiting the countries.

Checked on the internet earlier too, and it confirms what we have been told.

Sue, Helen, you had better check it out and get the appointments sorted!

Have been watching the weather forcasts again. temperatures are now averaging 27c but there stil seem to be rain, showers of clouds. Should I take a mac? or will I dry out between the showers? My husband says I should pack some warm jumpers for the windy evenings??? What are you taking Sue?

Thanks for the tips Mac

1st Choice told us that The Destiny is a british ship and that prices for drinks are UK pub prices.

Hadn't really thought about duty free, we don't drink that much, but, hey, we are on holiday and 7th April is a celebration! he he!

my holiday is for 2 weeks from 29th March. Our anniversary is on 7th April (should be in Grenada then).

My hubby would have a hissy fit if I meet GR members on holiday - he can't get me off GR as it is! Lol.

Does anyone know what happens about flight times when the clocks go forward. The clocks go forward on Sat 28th March and out flight is on Sunday morning. will this affect the times for booking in? ie, do we have to go another hour earlier?

We have to have a Typhoid jab and a Hep A jab this Tuesday, then a week later a triple jab of Tetanus, Polio & Dypheria. Also the week before we go, we have to start the course of Malaria tabs. 2 the week before we go, 2 each week we are away and then 2 each week for 4 weeks after the holiday.

Obviously, there are too many jabs to take all at once, but I think your sister would need to get moving on them this coming week!

Most places you do not need any jabs but its always better to be safe than sorry. We had our jabs as well and the anti-malaria tabs (recommended for the Dom Rep). I am counting down the days with you as well Dee................... and still wish that I was going back. Lol.

Jane

Jane Report 13 Mar 2009 18:23

My sister hasn't mentioned jabs!!!!! I better ring her.Good job you have mentioned that.
She laughed when I said that you had said it would be like looking for yourself lol.
Just rung and she hasn't been told they need anything but will now check it out.

2 wks to go...... have booked our appointment with the nurse at the surgery to get out inoculations......4 each, and have bought my malaria tablets which we only have to take for Dominican Republic.

Hope we don't get any reactions from the jabs!
