Theresa (Cork, Ireland) 157164 Report 17 Mar 2009 13:51

Holly is doing well but as expected has been quite unwell with the 1st cycle of chemo.

Apparently she has to have 10 cycles of 4 days on/3 days off. Mum and Dad have been told that this must continue for at least 7 cycles with out a break. I have no experience of chemo in any way even extended family so I am not sure what they will be expecting. Holly is due to start her 2nd cycle tomorrow and then we are hoping she will come home for the 3 day break.

I saw photos of her last night and her eyes are blackened by the tumours sitting behind them but she looks better than she did 2 weeks ago, thank God.

Thanks for all your prayers they are being passed on to Hollys family.

love Theresa

Thanks everyone,

I have just heard that when they went in to get the primary tumour they discovered it had too great a blood supply to remove. They have decided to wait and see if chemo will shrink the main tumour (and its blood supply) on the adrenal gland enough for it to be removed in surgery.

Not sure when chemo will start at the mo but mid week has been suggested....

This is such a cruel condition for children and their families.
