Silly Sausage Report 16 Feb 2009 23:15

They have booking kiosks again you can get good deals.....when you arrive ask the taxi driver for a book..its free. Ours only cost £495.00 each last year but we couldnt get a stright through flight....we booked off the internet..and I think its the flights that are pricey...but there should be some great deals about and no be honest you only sleep in your room...

~irishgirl~ Report 16 Feb 2009 23:15

What would you book through the hotel directly

Best beds are at the MGM :)

Muffyxx Report 16 Feb 2009 23:13

We went to see Tom Jones at the MGM........cost about £30 a head....but a fantastic show.

You can book while you're there for most things..........honestly you won't struggle to find things to do.

I'd go like a shot tomorrow if i could lol xx

They are high end hotels (except the Mirage).
See if you can book the flight and hotel seperate. You will save tons.

The Bellagio is smack in the middle of the strip and would be my choice. But a little too upscale for me :)

~irishgirl~ Report 16 Feb 2009 23:12

Yeah Muff the Mirage has the best beds lol

~irishgirl~ Report 16 Feb 2009 23:11

Muffyxx Report 16 Feb 2009 23:10

I love la mirage................we had our wedding breakfast there.

It's not a *naff* hotel........it's one of the posher ones.......or at least it was 12 yrs ago lol xx

Deb Vancouver (18665) Report 16 Feb 2009 23:09

LOL Hayley, I don't know if that's a good or bad thing :)

It is best to book online as it is the cheapest way to go.

There are two main "property holders" down there.

One is the MGM group (MGM, Mirage, NY NY, etc) the other one has Flamingo, Carears, Paris etc.
Subscribe to both their mailing lists. One hotel from each group will do, they will send info on all the hotels.

They have a deal at the Excaliber right now. $25 for food all day. breakfast, lunch and dinner at the buffet I think. Customer service at the hotel can fill you in on the details. It has been years since I ate at the Excaliber.

There is a little burger place on the east side of the Strip just up from the Coke bottle and M&M World called "Fat Burger". It is a little hole in the wall but the burgers are great.

End of Feb early march last year....and you could go out with out a cardy in your shorts most of the hotels have pools but I wasnt that brave...you may need a small jacket at night even thou its in the desert its breezy...there is a bus called the duce and you can ride the full length of the strip and back for $5 a ticket that lasts 24hrs..( it can be entertaining on there lol)

One night we eat in the Vegas Hilton I think it was $14 each ( £7.00) and it was a buffet it was one of the nicest and you get free beer and wine tea and coffee afterwards well worth it....they had everything to sausage and mash to chinese and Japanse food...

I've been 3 times in the last 12 months and going again in August for daughters 21st.
They are crying out for business right now. I was there a couple of weeks ago. Rooms costs are the lowest I've seen in the past 10 years.
(I got my nights free :))))
The MGM has a $50 per night special on.

Let me kow what you need to know.

Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 16 Feb 2009 22:40

I did a week.............You can just even people watch without doing anything.....we stayed in the circus circus and used to watch the show whilst eatting our breaky...

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 16 Feb 2009 22:37

I got married in Las Vegas ...........almost 12 yrs ago now.

I LOVED it............sat up til the early hours with my free drinks.........you get those as long as you're on the gambling tables...........and my peaked cap.........and my ciggies and shouted RED NINE on the roulette tables lololo.

It's a great experience..........and a really fun place to go........but don't do a week............a long weekend is enough xx

*** We stayed *off the strip* as we were seriously watching our pennies in those days...........a cab to the strip only cost about 2 dollars though.........I can't remember the name of the hotel off hand but it was still nice............I'll come back to you on that one.

IF money were no object we'd have stayed at Caesars Palace......but there are so many lovely hotels it's really down to personal choice............they all look pretty much the same in the gambling bits.

As to what there is to see........MGN have a funfair.........Circus circus have a circus.......pirates have a show......it's a 24 hr place..........you'll not struggle to stay entertained.........
