Dion, I am worn out with spending dosh and also with trying to find the ones I can't find. It's wonderful though isn't it:) It's thown up some mysteries for me too - dead children who I've little chance of identifying until mother's maiden names are added to the indices - something else to wait for ;)

GTS, the beta trial finishes tomorrow -so hopefully you'll get another go before it expires

Hello Susan:) Do you reckon it's going to come down in price? I'm refusing to add up what I have spent - mostly though I have used transcriptions and the advanced free search but I have got two originals and smashing they are too:))

Ann, I couldn't have waited :)

Annie, I have some it hasn't helped with at all - my great great aunt Ada has vanished buth then she is probably like half of mine and living with someone she hasn't married and telling porkies:) I wish they had a soundex or an option to just use the first three letters of a name like Ancestry - that might help you too with the Widdowes

I've found a bit of info that I didn't have. Unfortunately the family I really wanted and thought I'd find weren't there, so I'm a bit fed up with it at the moment.

I have a few who seem impossible to find and I also need Leeds and Essex. And my bloody great great grandmother is *such* a liar.

It has thrown up a few mysteries, like where is my OHs fathers family. His father is living with rellies in London, but no sign of the parents or siblings. Also his mother seems to have vanished as well!!
Oh well at least my gtgrandmother was listed this time. First time since 1871.

It has shown me that the one I really need is the next one! I'll have gone insane by then trying to find people.

Hello David

I read their rather ambiguous statement on their blog.....It seems ( correct me if I am wrong) that firstly they will release it...then it will be with the other census' on find my past...they already have a space for it under the 1901.....problem being....they haven't finished adding all the others yet.....they must have made a fortune already ( from me alone ) so I would place a bet that they will wait until initial interest wanes...then add it to find my past......my humble cynical view :)

Uggers

Uggers Report 29 Dec 2008 22:13

I bet I could have bought a sub to findmypast with what I've spent. I'm not going to look and I don't want anyone to tell me.
