Mo
I was on a market garden farm he did have cows chickens and such but mostly it was veg and fruit. I was living in a large Manor House and we slepted in dorms. up early into the truck that took us to the different farms . pitch black and often cold. we crawled on our hands and knees pulling up the weed between plants carrots and turnips things like this the were so small you had to struggle to see if you were pulling a weed or a carrot.
we didnt have toilets we dug a hole and put the move able wooden shed over the hole when it was full you filled the hole in and moved along the field and the same thing took place.he was a miserable old So and so
who owned the place.

Rita my aunt worked on a dairy farm when she was in the land army. After she married the farmer's son I used to go and stay with her during my school holidays. She used to send me to the cowshed with a jug to get milk for breakfast, it was still warm when it went on the cornflakes...yuk.

Pauline a lot of the local girls didnt like the Land Army girls for that reason marrying the farmers sons . i had two friend in the Land Army they went in before I did about 1943 (I think it was ) and they married Australians over here in the forces. another one married a Canadian. .

I did my dinner and sat down to have a cup of tea and dropped off to sleep.
