No - they know the laws when they go out there.

These sort of actions, and in this country too, is why the Muslims are like they are to us.

I know many people of different religions, and we are respected if we act decently.

Saw a film the other night about illegal fishing at night in Langstone Harbour, they had to stop filming as there was a lot of 'Dogging' going on in the car park.

If everybody only obeyed the laws they thought were right, according to their own beliefs, countries would descend into anarchy, whether or not we agree with the laws of the land, this or foreign lands, they are that countries laws and should be observed.

Caused offence no doubt. Ignorance of the law is no defence. If they are going to drink in a Muslim country and canoodle then they take the consequences.

Well I have sympathy for them, jail for a drunken shag is a bit tough,lucky we dont do it elsewhere or the jails would be overflowing.

Strange when people join clubs whether sports clubs or private clubs. They are willing to abide by the rules of the club.

If the club says a certain dress code is needed then its accepted and abided by.If the dress code isnt followed the club has the right to ask the person to leave.
Why is it when it comes to moral behaviour it seems they think they are a law unto themselves.

A person going on holiday or working in an area must respect the rules of that area.If they dont then accept the consequences.

So hardly sex on the beach, a bit of perhaps rauchy conoodling maybe. However, they was warned by the policeman and was therefore asking for trouble by carrying on. The law is quite clear.

Been following this with interest, Dubai has an extremely liberal/tolerant attitude, 75-80% of the population are migrant workers/expats, if they took offence at every rule breaking, the jails would be full.

It was reported here that the policeman that arrested them had previously warned them about their conduct and returned to find them still engaged in canoodling on a sun lounger, so they were arrested. She apparently did wave her shoe at the policeman.
It was also reported here that they secretly married hoping to reduce the sentence, and that tests revealed that they did not engage in full sex.
They were also charged with being drunk.

It was expected here that they would be freed, but the judge gave the minimum sentance he could, 3 months jail and then deportation. They are currently on bail awaiting appeal.

I have no symapathy with them, the law is to be respected, and even kissing in public is an offence.

That said, I am off to Dubai in 40 mins.

If they had stopped when warned first time, things might not have been taken further and there wouldn't be all this to do now.

Serve 'em right, should be more discreet in such countries.
