You have political comedians -- but do all your senior politicians go on their shows and make fun of themselves???

I don't thiiink so. ;)

That's the essence of Cdn funny: self-deprecating. We got it from you, but ..........

we do it better!

Funny thing is -- what Canadians do best is sketch comedy. Second City, widely regarded as one of the best comedy shows ever. But I'm not overly fond of sketch comedy.

So I prefer the britcoms. ;)

This Hour Has 22 Minutes is a half-hour political satire show on CBC. It takes its name from "This Hour Has Seven Days", a famous current-affairs show from the late 60s that pioneered tough interviewing (it once had the grand wizard of the KKK as an interviewee), and got cancelled through political interference.

22 Minutes has gone downhill, but Rick Mercer spun his own show off.

Then Prime Minister Paul Martin goes shopping at the Canadian Tire with a host of the show, Rick Mercer:

I bought three of those Black and Decker heaters, and two failed to function almost immediately. Paul Martin's wife actually told the nation he doesn't know how to make Kraft Dinner, the Canadian national food. He's a multi-millionnaire.

Current PM Stephen Harper hosting Rick Mercer at a sleepover:

You can click on any of the clips in the list to see more fun political humour. Even the sour Stephen Harper just can't help being Canadian, i.e. funny.

Rick's accent is Newfoundland, btw.
