Have pm'd you babe

We are all here to support you, I gave up in Dec on Zyban

Go for it, if you are feeling desparate for a ciggie, sit down take some deep breathes and read a couple of pages from a book, my stop smoking advisor said the craving only last about 10 mins if you find something to take your mind off it, its true.

I had a health scare and that made me stop smoking instantly. That was nearly 10 years ago, I don't miss it at all. Just keep telling yourself there are no benefits to smoking...Good luck, I hope you succeed, it will be worth it in the end! Get as much support as you can.

Good luck to you too Carol..xx

I'll do it with you - managed two months from April and then relapsed but I think Eldrick's words have given me new strength - let's see how we get on

I too have to kick the habit...going into hospital for surgery, next month!
I have tried patches from GP... still wanted a fag, told the craving faded after a short time...tried ignoring for 2hrs...gave in! Dr suggests that I cut down by allowing myself 5 a day...then try again, I am going to try the gum.

Good luck today

Have had lots of 'Men' telling me it is willpower...lots of explanations of what it does to my body...lots of people who have never smoked giving advice!

I smoked cigarettes from age 13 until I was almost 50 years old.

Tried patches, gum, hypnotism etc non worked.

One day I said to myself ENOUGH, this silly

Gave half a packet and ash trays and lighter away.

Had minimal withdrawal symptoms. Lapsed once or twice during the first year.

Its now been 12 years since I quit.
Its an ADDICTION

Want to stop more than the craving for another cigarette. Its that easy. CHOICE

Good luck

ive done better than throw them away.
ive ripped them up one by one.
and put the bin out side.it's upsetting because i know my health is more important to me as my kids are.

lol - its harsh, but it took someone to point this out to me. It really woke me up to reality.

The plus side is that I am over £200 a month better off - yes, add it up and see what it comes to!

I no longer stink of smoke, wake up with a headache and a mouth like an old sock, dont get annoyed that I cant smoke in the pub, restaurant, whatever, dont have a car that stinks to high heaven, have ashtrays all over, cig wrappers and packets filling the bin, my fear of lung cancer has diminished, there are nothing but benefits.

Go for it - throw them away and just stop. If I can, anyone can!

i work for the nhs and run smoking cessation clinics..first step go to your gp.maybe you could try zyban, but talk to your g p first. Smoking is something you re not giving up....but just stopping...your giving up prospect of being more ill!!!
