Honestly, I shouldn't worry so much really but last year I couldn't get hold of him and found him a few days later in hospital after a nasty fall. He didn't want the hospital to ring me cuz he didn't want me to worry - tho when he got home and heard my increasingly frantic messages he realised that I was more worried not knowing where he was.

Daft old so and so. I'm so relieved he's ok.

HI all,
Gramps just phoned me - wondering why he had so many messages on his ansafone from me and half of the family.
Turns out he's not be sleeping well lately so thought he'd go out for a few pints.
He didn't check his messages when he got home.
He was touched by my concern but did laugh when I told him how worried I'd been.

Next time I see him I'm going to give him a crash course in taking the mobile phone I bought him out with him!!!

If you've heard nothing yet, do as others have advised and ring the police. At least they will do a call out and at this stage keep their eyes open for sightings of him.

Just checking in to see if your Gramps has turned up OK......but no news it seems.....

After 24 hours it's your duty to contact the police. Please ask them to be discreet. Get they key off his neighbour and thoroughly check the house, closets and all. I'm sure his neighbours didn't check the closets. He just can't fault you for being so concerned about him. Consult with the other relatives before doing this so that it doesn't all fall on your shoulders. We will be waiting and praying. Let's all hope this all turns out well and that you and Grampa can have a good laugh when this is all over and done with.
