McAnne's Gahan-Crazy Report 28 May 2008 14:01

Tina - i appreciate your efforts hun lol

I know i shouldn't feel sorry for myself - i know there are others with worse or more significant problems than me

but that doesn't make my problems and worries any less significant

maybe i'm being selfish ??? maybe i am - but maybe my mum is too ..........

i wonder if she has stopped to think who will be around to help me when i reach her age

No One - that's who ...............

Harpstrings Report 28 May 2008 14:18

No you are not being selfish so you can stop that! lol

My "sister" (who is actually what was my foster mother's daughter) and I are very close. We look after her mum and who I also call mum. She does not do any cooking except for a slice of toast. And does not do any major housework.

I dont even get a cup of tea made for me on a saturday when I visit - well 9 times out of 10 anyway, I have said in front of her to my sister - I dont know who is going to look after us when we reach Mother's age and makes us a cuppa! LOL

In which case I think we should set up a home for all of us *No ones* LOL.

I appreciate what you are saying, each individual has his or her own problems but when they are your problems it is you that has to cope with them and not anybody else.

We can only try and lighten that burden and hope that you come through the other end with a smile on your face and that tomorrow is another day (a better day).

Lots of hugs
Tina xxxxxx

Anita..................your Mum is being totally selfish, she wants her son living where she can have lovely free holidays and you set up nearby in case she ever gets old and frail.

Our children are absolutely NOT expected to look after us in our dotage.................we raised them to be responsible adults and go their own way with their lives.

If they want to help out when we are less able...........wonderful, if not, equally so.

As for you being selfish..................if you were, you wouldn't worry about what other people thought of your life choices, would you:))

Now, chin up, shoulders back and think of all the positive things around you.................one is being able to post on here and have we strangers taking the time to help you.

Not because we have to..............but because we care:)))

*polishes halo and falls off soapbox*

Put me down for a place please, Harpy, as my son keeps telling me he will put me in a Home, so I want to get there before he does! Maybe, Anita, you should say the same to your Mum (in a jocular fashion of course)....BC XXX

Anita ya not being selfish and yes others do have problems dont mean your arent important.

We all have down times in our lives and when the rest of us do you are always one of the first to be there offering support, so shut it and let us make a fuss of ya ;o)

Well done Chris. I often wish I had also had a daughter, although I love my son to bits. But I agree with Kitty, we have our children and send them off in the world and wish them fulfilled and happy lives. If they take care of us in our old age, then that is a bonus. BC XX

Oh Anita here's a (((((((((((((HUG))))))))))
I feel guiltly leaving my mom in UK even though she now lives with my sister - they had 2 weeks holiday from each other and 2 days later mom phones me up moaning about - yes,. thats right, my sister!!!! But as has already been said you only have one life and there are no replays - this one is for real., Have a good cry then order the kitchen and find someone to fit it after - surely in 2 weeks you can find someone.
You take care
