Yes the meet of fellow genealogists has been cancelled lol , its a mad world...I don't know precisely why but as I said to Joyce I will still go if I can and meet anyone who turns up...I am shy but really quite friendly lol.

I suspect its a lot of hot air......one thing about having an audience on here , to a really busy place that will be very well policed as well...

I couldn't have made it - too far away. Having said that, it seems a shame to cancel just because alleged trouble makers have threatened to go as well. What can they do ? Make a noise, say nasty things - that is what children will do - I'm not sure about adults. Hopefully they will be more adult than that. But they will surely be outnumbered - that is if they DO turn up. We all know what bullies are - all mouth no substance.
They probably wouldn't turn up anyway, just said they would to try to spoil it for everyone else - which they seem to have done, by having it cancelled.

must have missed time and place? don't know Liverpool very well now but would be good to see the tall ships...so will go up there anyway this year.

What a shame. I agree Rose the meet should still go on. After all if the trouble makers wanted to cause trouble that badly they could of sort out whoever and gone and caused trouble any day not just at a meet.
Even so I doubt there would be any bother on the day at the meet, people will be too involved in meeting one and another and looking at the tall ships.

I Agree Rose, the meet should go ahead. I will prob go anyway if any folks still want to meet, same time same place etc?

Perhaps you can let us know who these so called trouble makers are Ally? and why you think there maybe trouble? sounds very strange, if not worrying!

I think it should go ahead.....I doubt that any trouble will happen...if I have moved and settled before my subs run out in August I might just organise one myself!

I met one in a pub near me.................easy peasey to find
One at a farm where my daughter used to be..........again easy

Yesterday I met one in a car park near me

I'm fine in a 10 mile radius, after that......:((((((

I met Rosalyn and Liz in Glasgow, but i asked if we could meet at the station, they knew where it was and I would have got lost going anywhere else, so that makes two of us Kitty lol

It's the finances that restrict me so much..................that and no sense of direction! :))
