yep, joined.

I think that it is only fair that there should be an opposing view.

Thanks Mick

I am not an atheist and I am quite happy to live with the idea of a Supreme Being but the creationist view of the universe is so parochial that it really amazes me how blinkered they can be.

All around them is evidence of a universe so vast and so astonishing in its complexity that to still try to explain it in terms of beliefs that fit more comfortably in the Middle Ages seems simply unnecessary.

As I said on one of Colin's previous attempts at preaching to us......they worry themselves about the Theory of Evolution without seeming to realise that the Theories of Relativity and Quantum Mechanics disrupt their beliefs just as effectively. They also show their lack of scientific understanding by assuming that scientists use the word theory to mean an idea as yet unproven. That is a hypothesis and a scientific theory is a set of discoveries to which there has been no credible opposition.

Well said Sue!
Religion is such a cop-out!
They cant understand how
all these wonders came about,
So they just say "God did it"!

Yet another creationist thread by Colin!

We share DNA with all living things on earth. We are related to all living things on earth.

This to me is a far more profound and exciting idea than that each creature somehow appeared magically just a few thousand years ago.

Sharing our distant ancestry with every example of life on earth makes me feel that we have a duty to take care of all living things.

The number of stars in the universe is estimated to be of a similar number to the grains of sand on all the beaches around the UK. The furthest stars in the furthest galaxies from Earth are so far away that the light takes an enormous number of light years to reach us. Creationists have to play ridiculous mindtricks to account for the great age of the Earth and even more so of the Universe as known by scientists of many different types.
Geologists, astrophysicists and paleoanthropologists (to name just a few) are very different but are in agreement.

Well, I'd rather be a frog than a vampire.

At least I could eat garlic if I wanted to, without which pizzas would taste horrible.
