did the mother not wonder what he was doing down the cellar for hours at a time ?

How did he manage to close the door once inside the hidey hole...for 23 yrs it went unnoticed...?????

I feel like most of you feel......but in another direction......how on earth did the father get away with all the underground work without building inspection.....

It is said he was given permission to extend the cellar.....but surely someone should inspect the work, especially underground work......there are many unanswered questions.....

....another is, how on earth did his daughter give birth to 7 children and not be heard by the mother and the others in the house.....

......too awful to think about it really.....

one thing I did hear I don't know how true it is-as OH said he heard it on sky news. is that she was kept down there for so long her hair had apparently gone white....this is like I just don't have the words to describe

The basement might have already been part of the house and he just fitted it out, who knows? I think a lot of speculation will have to wait for confirmation until the story comes out in court and at the mo it seems he isn't saying much more than admitting to what he has done.

Kersten is still critically ill in hospital, although a slight improvement has been made since she was admitted.

Other five children doing relatively well, being helped by a proffessional team of psycologists and therapists... but carefully and sensitively. They have a school in the clinic where they are being looked after.

Rosemary Fritzl is a suspect at the moment... no evidence that she knew anything of the crime yet.

The authorities have apparently examined the acoustics of the 'dungeon' and it appears to be pretty soundproof.

The 18 year old boy can read and write, the 5 year old can't.
Elizabeth has told of the 24 year mytredom(sp).

It is correct that 'the letters' shows that the accused handled them, there is a genetic trace to him. They know he was involved in the manufauture of the letters but he said they would have to ask his wife as she composed it. (I don't get that bit)

Family members met on Sunday and the children all came together happily as did Elizabeth and her Mother. The 3 children who lived upstairs had absolutely no knowledge of what was going on. They 'appeared credible'

DNA has proved Fritzl is the father of the 6 children

Forensic tests on the whole property and his other properties are being carried out.

I cannot see how this B*******s wife did,nt know about what was going on,What about all the "Excavations" going on to make the space these poor kids were living in? Is she Deaf, Blind or totally Brainwashed into believing every thing he told her?.Sorry I just don,t buy it.**M**.

This absolutely makes me sick - I'm asking a lot of the questons already mentioned, the logistics of it all. Seeing the photo of the tiny bathroom area, (after considering the irony of white tiles and fixtures, making everything look so clean) it must have taken an extended amount of time to create that space, even just to to carry the tiles and toilet,bath and basin down there, how could he possibly have done that without someone noticing. Where did he dump the soil from his excavations? how were they fed??? How were they clothed (or were they?) Has the 19yo currently in a coma been raped too? Were the 3 of them forced to watch their mother being raped? Did she have any help with her deliveries? I am just sick with disbelief that anyone could do this to their daughter. Without details, I am well aware that molestation of step-children does happen, even in a so-called 'normal, average' family - the shock & disgust of which never leaves ones memory. How this 42 year old woman will ever regain some normalcy in her life, some peace of mind, some end to her nightmares, is beyond me. How does one feel about ones children when conceived by rape, let alone incest? Can she feel any love towards her children? Do they have any hope of normal lives, is there some genetic implication for them? I hope their psychiatric help is the best available, they will need it, bless her and these poor children whose lives have been created and endured with such an abomination for a father/grandfather.

I heard on the later news that someone who looked at the place they were held, said it was so deep no one would have heard anyone shouting for help so obviously mother might not have known altho must have wondered about the time he spent down there! I suppose it will all come out in the end. One of the lads apparently told the police or someone it was so good to see real cars, I suppose all they knew of life was what was on tv, if they had one. There is a boy of 18 I think, might be the other twin, he must have missed years of education unless his mother managed to teach him anything. How on earth will they ever fully adapt to what has happened to them.

I wonder what is wrong with the daughter in hospital?
