I see the moon
The moon sees me
Over the mountain
and over the sea

Please let the light that
shines on me
shine on the one I love

Jeez, I've just remembered that I can remember the registration number!

How is that I can remember the registration number of the first boyfriend's car when I have difficulty with my postcode?

Bring on the polyester dress and the nice cardi.

It certainly was very romantic, Jules. If you were p****ed on Stella (as per "your" lyrics).

At the tender age of about 16, the best I managed was a quick slug of Woodpecker.

We had a Hillman Minx, Ladybird. That was the family car. But having got into first real relationship, the boyfriend had a Triumph Herald with soft top. How snazzy!

Must be about the same age as me, Ladybird? I guess I was also about 16. Other songs which spring to mind from about the same time -

Layla. And Lola
Patches (I'm depending on you son)
Ride a white swan
Band of Gold
James Brown's Sex Machine

any of these bring back memories?

When I searched the song I came up with these lyrics first...lol

She ain't got no money
Her clothes smell kinda funny
Her hair is kinda wild and free
Oh, and hair grows from her ears and her nose
And everyone knows like me

She talks kinda lazy
And people say she's crazy
And her life's a misery
Oh, and hair grows from her ears and her nose
And everyone knows like me

There's something about her teeth out of line
They're all covered in grime
And it won't brush away

She's really got this terrible smell
And she's reekin'g like hell
And you can't get away

She can't get a fella
And she gets p*ssed on Stella
And she farts endlessly
Oh, and hair grows from her ears and her nose
And ev'ryone knows like me

There's somethin' about her dribbling that drool
Now it just isn't cool
And I just gotta say
She's really got a damn awful smell
And it makes me unwell
When she passes my way

She won't get no fella
And someone should just tell her
What they smell and what they see
Because, hairy nose, crooked teeth, smelly clothes
And everyone knows like me

Fade out:

I keep groaning every place she's been
And everyone knows like me

If you've smelt her, you'll never forget her
And everyone knows like me

La la la believe it when you've seen it
Everyone knows like me

the Edison Lighthouse song goes a bit like this:

I'm a lucky fella
and I've just go to tell her
that I love her endlessly

Oh, but love grows
where my Rosemary goes
And nobody knows
Like me

How can such memorable lyrics not have stood the test of time......

I'd totally forgotten JJ Barrie and No Charge. can't bring the lyrics to mind but it was this really cheesy country thing. Anyone else remember?
