Excellent point Ian
The trouble with religion is that it's all so subjective-
open to just about any interpretation you care to make.
Give me science any day!

'Religion has hidden Bible truths from countless millions, still does--Islams a good example of that'

Hmm

I'm not sure that a member of the muslim faith would agree.....might however turn it round and replace bible with Qu'uran.

This is the trouble with organised religion and the untold misery it has caused for thousands of years.

Dear Colin,
I have just spent ten minutes writing a great explanation about heaven, and hell and how world religions have mis-led mankind, then I pressed wrong button and lost it,
I am off to bed, work early in morning,
be back tommorrow,
agape to everyone

That is very true girl i wouldnt argue with that
since there is to be a ressurection of both the righteous and the unrighteuos---the wages sin
pays is death---

so i cant wait to meet my relies in flesh and blood
and people like Moses and Abraham, then Naomai
an ancestress of Christ--------------

Religion has hidden Bible truths from countless millions, still does--Islams a good example of that

is there such a place as heaven. like i said previously , idon,t criticise any bodys belieifs with a few minor exeptions and then it,s not critism just a shake of the head, and keep my mouth shut.
a tinpot way might be to argue that the ancient worshipped the sun , moon, stars etc. and were called pagans, idol worshippers etc. but at least they prayed to something they could see something tangible and not to a none entity . anyway this is far as i,m going on this subject it gets nobody any where and only causes arguments that you can neither win nor lose besides your far to intellectual for me. hows the job anyway good i hope

I'll help you out Colin,
Hell was a word used in the king james and the catholic 'douay' version to translate the Hebrew word
she'ohl, and the greek word hai'des, which is just the common grave,
Hell is not a place of torment or damnation......
A wonderful and loving God would not send our dead ones to live in such a place, when he has provided the promise of a ressurection. it would be silly wouldnt it?
The bible says the dead are conscience of nothing, they are awaiting a resurrection.....

No such place as Hell Urban old mate and i agree
religion has caused all kinds of suffering--but
if we look on the Bible as Gods Letter-or-again the Highway code book----of life
Just because you see a Bobby go through red
lights, doesnt mean the Highway code is all wrong
And i always keep in mind the same as the catholic
lady earlier---At one period some of the desciples came running to Jesus saying--Lord theirs folke
preaching your words in the next village and they arent a part of us lord----Jesus replied " If they
are for us,how can they be against us."

Shalom

i am actully a lapsed catholic. it brought it home to me when my grandmother was dying (in the 1960s)and the priest called round to berate her for not attending mass and leaving her weekly donation . i know things are differnt now but that vision has stayed with me because the poor woman thought she,d rot in hell

A creative day is different than the ordinary time
as referred to when God says to Isrealites in the
wilderness you will serve a year for a day etc;
In this case as i explained the Bible writers
reffer to being in Gods rest day and, he rests during the seventh day---we are still in that seventh day,
but 6000 yrs have about arrived
At Rev chpt 11 verse 18 the b part of 18 He says
speaking of now-a-days and i shall bring to ruin
those ruining the earth---------
But that God rests,is seen from the many scriptures
what say Jesus is" Lord of the sabath" and he will
rule as king and judge---Why?-- because God is still
in his rest day

I am a Roman Catholic, but I find every other Religion interesting. I think we should all take on board others beliefs and make us more wiser. Dont have to believe but just understand where they are coming from.
