At least they are all speaking English! I do object to this strange Anglo/American gang language which a lot of today's youth adopt.

Sue I was trying to think of what to call it...a cross between Jamaican and cockney, but it doesn't work. That gets my goat.

and our grandaughter who we speak proper to has started saying

but then shes just learning, and is only 11 months

Perhaps if you dislike these adverts so much you should use the off or mute button?

Over by yere, I love that Welsh accent especially when spoken by a lady. Carol's half Welsh by birth but she hasn't got any accent, shame. It does things for me.

It looks like the majority are in favour of speaking the English language as they see fit and not the same way as the queen speaks it.

Accents don't bother me,it's the money these so-celebs get paid for advertising things we already know about.If the companies didn't pay them so much it would cost us less to buy these products.
One ad. that really annoys me is Cilla Black sellling life insurance.Like she needs it with her money.

Tesco's started off with a Market Stall.

Cockney accent- dont forget Charles Dickens books were written with a lot of this accent in them.

I was born in Essex, with one grandmother from Mile End,E.London, grandfather from Wanstead, Essex , my other grandmother from Barking,Essex and grandfather from Bedford. Father from Forest Gate, and mother from Barking.

So I had a mixture of accents to listen to.

Now live in Hampshire, and when I first came to live here, the natives told me I sounded like an Aussie

As said by kay????, I cant stand the Rasta/Jamaican,accents the young ones take on.

I would just like to add that we have a lovely language, and should use it, Do not need "bools in the mooth", just use proper pronounciation.
I work with kids, and I cringe when I hear the way that some wee ones speak.Parents have a responsibility to speak to their children in the proper manner.

Well I'm not talking accents but intonation eg: the M&S ad.

That voice, whoever it belongs to, gets on my nerves.

In the great scheme of things, does it REALLY matter? Isn't variety the spice of life?.....I love the difference personally!
