My ancestor was William Mason who came from Dent in Dentdale, but moved to Co Durham in about 1780.

His childrens 1800 and 1805 baptisms give his place of origin which was Dent as a lot of Durham PRs were quite informative by listing parents place of births. He died after 1811 but I cannot find his burial as there was a Willm Mason born in 1747 in Dent.

Hi Hayley, its Winton (nowhere near as posh as Monton!!) Have you been to West One, on the grounds of the old Ladywell?? That is quite nice. I have heard of The Talk of The North - now I believe that WAS rough!!

Dianne, my mum and dad live in the street just next to Pyramid Court - Murray Street. Pyramid Court is just directly in front of their back garden. Small world!!

I don't think I am convinced with the posh Cheshire bit, I had a friend who lived in Winsford!!!!

Best wishes

I might be mentioning a distant cousin here regarding my Irish Norse ancestry.

Have a guess and I will say if you are right?

How do you get a one armed Irishman out of a tree?

Hayley, I am originally from Lower Kersal, proper rough, but now live in Higher Broughton, slightly less rough!!

My great grandparents were married in St Mary's church in Eccles, do your relatives live anywhere near there?
