Colin

As you know I have been in a simular position recently, my heart goes out to you.
May be a check up with Doc is a good idea if you can get him to agree.
Once they have settled and had some rest hopefully he will start to feel better. Have word with your sister and tell her your concerns if you can, she just might not realise how things are.
My family always rely on me to be the striong one and at times it is very hard but with the support I get through.
If ever you need to talk, rant or rave feel free to pm me.

Don't be ashamed of your tears and fears Colin................no matter how grown up we are, there is still the child in all of us that desperately needs our Mum and Dad.

It is good that you feel you can come on here for support Colin and as you can see you have got it. I am sure it will be the stress of moving affecting your Dad, but hopefully it can be sorted if he can be persuaded to see a Dr. Please don't make yourself ill over it all though, don't do too much.

Thinking of you and hoping that things settle down for you and your parents and that they will be happy in their new home.

Colin, your mum and dad are so lucky to have you.

They will be fine once they are settled.

I have a son like you so I know how good it is to have someone like that who cares so much.
He can't do the things he used to for us, as he is also ill now, but where we would be without him I do not know.

We are also in a sheltered bungalow Colin and we are happy, safe and warm.
Your parents will be too and they, like us will have the added bonus of knowing that their son is there at the end of a phone!

(((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))

Chin up Colin, you are a good man.

Just found this Colin, hope you're ok. Can sympathise with everything you've said. My dad was 80 in January and has always been pretty fit. He's just started having problems with his heart, maybe angina or may need an operation. He's finally feeling his age and so am I!! Mum is a real worrier too, which isn't helping. I'm trying not to worry too much about them both until dads latest tests are sorted then we know what we are faced with.

Hugs to you.

It is always difficult 'helping' parents - especially when they say 'we are fine'! Glad you have a sister to take some of the pressure from you - I'm an only child! Take care. Jx

Just seen this Colin,i know what you mean as my husband is like it....he had a triple bypass 12 years ago and is also a diabetic, over the last 6 months he has deteriorated ....very out of breath but still insists that he can do things but after 5 minutes he is shattered.
if your Dad is no better i should contact your gp.

Colin....Hoping that once your parents have settled into their new home that your Dad's health will improve.

It is so stressful moving at any time, no matter how much help you get, but when you are not feeling well it is twice as bad in particular for your Dad who is so used to being independent.

Thinking of you and your parents.
