Thanks Reg.
I had found that info, and then again in another census, just wondering if there was any other way / fresh eyes finding other info etc.

Cheers my dear!

You will need to find all relevant census info for the people you name...then try cross-referring with bmd's............

For a start..is this Jane in 1851?

Name: Jane Martin
Age: 7 Mo
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1850
Relation: Daughter
Father's Name: Thomas
Mother's Name: Mary
Gender: Female
Where born: Camborne, Cornwall, England

Civil Parish: Camborne
Ecclesiastical parish: Penponds
County/Island: Cornwall
Country: England

Registration district: Redruth
Sub-registration district: Camborne
ED, institution, or vessel: 1o
Neighbors: View others on page
Household schedule number: 118
Household Members: Name Age
Elizth Martin 9
James Martin 7
Jane Martin 7 Mo
Mary Martin 36 b. Ludgvan
Mary Martin 4
Thomas Martin 40
William Martin 12
Jane Rutta 60 Cousin

Look for the marriage of her parents........

I would think, though, that most of the census returns with the surnames in the same households are examples of sheer coincidence

In 1861 Penponds, Kehelland, Camborne I have my ancestor Joseph Wicks age 17 born Camborne as a servant.
Another servant in that household is James Martin, age 18 born Camborne.

Also in 1861, same area, is Ann Wicks, age 40, unmarried, b Camborne and her lodger Jane Martin age 11. I'm trying to establish if there is a connection between the Martins and the Wicks/Weeks anywhere but having difficulties... any ideas?

I may be going offline in a min, but will check back probably Wednesday or Thursday, if not tomorrow.

Thanks
Laura
