Looking up surnames in the marriage index

Hi all, I hope that it is alright to ask this here - or someone will tell me the right place to ask - but when you are looking up names in the marriage index and you are looking up a woman, should you look up their married or maiden name?

I am trying to search for Kate Bobbett (maiden name), Kate Bawn (married name) and am confused on which names to look for in the index for 1900-1908.

that site is free, and is where all the bmds are being entered, from September 2837 to the current day. They currently have most done upto about 1920, a lot done upto about 1920, and volunteers are working feverishly on the rest.


Enter Bawn into one surname and Bobbett into the other


and you find the marriage!!
