How can I trace a child that was put up for sale in the press (c. 1910)?

I've tried The Times archive to no avail.

Any advice gratefully received!

Thanks

Abigail

My great grandmother's twin sister did this to her first born son - she was not married and it was a private arrangement in the scottish highlands somewhere.

She lived alone on a croft and when she tried to do it a second time the family were so cross she kept the second son.

Shame he was not sold as well as he had a nasty life with her by all accounts.

Would there not have been rules by 1910 though?

There were only private adoptions then so maybe it came under those regulations and maybe they have a section on adoption advertisements?
