Well, interesting! I just tried a tree search in IE, and it worked. But I hate IE and refuse to use it. If I ever shut down Firefox and reboot, we'll see what happens. I just seldom buy the "the problem's at your end" thing. ;) A tech at my ISP tried it again yesterday when I couldn't connect, 12 hours after one of his more intelligent colleagues had given me a big explanation of the server problem they were having ...

That's never happened to me. Maybe it's a browser problem?

When you search, say, the Trying to Find board, you get search results that often run to several pages. Maybe you'll be able to get to the second page by clicking the page number or the arrow thingy, maybe even the third. Then it stops, and next time you click you get sent back to the main Trying to Find board.

Ditto for my inbox. Trying to see correspondence from, say, Jane whose surname I've forgotten, I select "ascending by forename" to organize the messages so I can go to the Janes. But I can't. As soon as I click on "11 to 21", say, I can't get any farther. I just get sent back to page one.

Ditto for searching trees. Get a results list several pages long, try to get to the third or fourth page, and get "You must enter a surname" message.

There's no way around it. Even back-paging each time, then selecting page 4, then doing it again and selecting page 5, doesn't work; your luck eventually runs out.

This is already about the most primitive message board to be found in cyberspace. No html functions, and the most useless search function possible.

When not even the crappy functions it is supposed to have work ... what are we paying for, again?
